    Did you temper the chocolate?

    • @pankobunny
      @pankobunny  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      • Sydney • Nope! Tempering would make it smooth and glossy and give it that nice cracking sound when you break it, but it's really tricky, so I decided not to. And since I didn't and put these in the freezer to set, these also need to be stored in the fridge or freezer, or else they'll start to "bloom" and have little white marks on them

      Starlight I just bought chocolate bars and melted them, and then poured the melted chocolate into the molds! Lindt Excellence chocolate is my favourite because it's really silky and smooth when it's melted, and it's sooo yummy! But any plain chocolate bar would work!

      Thank you, I'm so happy that you found it helpful! I don't have much experience with tempering chocolate, so I didn't do it for this video, but you definitely could! It would allow them to sit at room temperature without the fear of "blooming".

    Could you use condensed milk instead of evaporated milk?

    • @pankobunny
      @pankobunny  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually did use condensed milk ^_^ I've never tried it with evaporated milk before, but I think that it's the sugar in the condensed milk that caramelizes in the can while it's boiling, and the thickness of it that gives the dulce de leche its lovely consistency. xx

    • @pankobunny
      @pankobunny  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jada Wilder I'm always happy to help! ^_^ I think that whole almonds with the skin on (like that super thin brown skin) would taste best! Those are usually the ones used when they make chocolate almonds. Let me know if you have any more questions!

      I melt it in the microwave at 10-15 second intervals. I don't add any heavy cream to them in this recipe ❤️ Hope this helps (and that I'm not responding long after you made them! haha)
