Yo don’t need a scanner. Go to the tire pressure menu on your dashboard then hold checkmark ✅ your in “tire learning active”. (Same thing he did) fill up the tire or tires you show low until truck beeps and it should update. To be safe you can air all 4 from front left, front right, rear right and lastly rear left. Its like any regular car the only difference is to be in “tire learning mode” while you air up so your truck beeps and updates the actual reading. No scanner needed.

Thank you for this video. I have a 2018 equinox. This helped me to determine my left front tire sensor is bad. I inflated my tires to the proper inflation. After doing each step in your video the tpms light did not go off and the tire pressure of my front left tire still cannot be read.
How do I fix my 19 equinox? tire light was on showing right rear but it was right front actually added air to right front and light went off just curious if relearn or recal is needed assuming this is due to a tire rotation at some point just purchased this vehicle last month
If you have access to a tpms scanner or if you know someone who has one, I recommend relearning them so if you have the tpms light come on again, you will know whichever tire is showing as low on the dash is the actual tire that is low.
Should the sensors in the tire last the life of the car( or the wheel )? I had Tires Plus put new tires on and one of the sensors was not working before they even touched it. When they got done I asked about it and why it was not working, the mechanic came out with the tpms device and he said the tire sensor was bad and would need to be replaced and of course the only way you can do that is by taking the tire off. $100 for the sensor +labor to fix it. I decided to wait and not get it fixed and only got about 2 blocks and now none of the sensors work! I will try airing up the tires in Learning mode and see what happens.
Sensors do go bad. It varies on their life span. If possible, you can try getting 4 new sensors and take them to a trusted tire shop or mechanic with a tmps device to get them set to your vehicle.
Thanks ....i just bought a new 2020 ...driving it home the tpms light came on....had air put in...(they were all bout 30 lbs)..put 35 in...all but 1 beeped when the guy put air in......light went off....hour later came back on....flashing for a minute.... Looked at all 4 tire pressures on screen..only showed 3...33 pounds...one was not showing...it was the one that didn't beep when he put air in it.....guess I need to have them use the tool..
It could be a bad sensor too so I would recommend getting it to a shop that has a tpms scanner or the dealer. Then you will be able to find out if it just needs to be reset or replaced.

@@mmilige Thanks. I had to buy a new TPMS for the wheel. Apparently one died. I bought a reprogrammer off of Amazon too. I actually reprogrammed the other three sensors in the good tires and the new one at the same time. Then once the tire place installed the new sensor, everything was working perfectly. Thanks.
Why did it show different air pressures in the tires after you used the tool?...when it first showed the 3 tire pressures compared to the 4 afterwards.
In my experience, using different scanners that my previous employer had, the psi was never exactly the same no matter which scanner was used. The vehicle's computer reading of the sensor in each tire always showed a different psi than a scanner, usually 1-2psi at most.
Not that I know of. With some vehicles you can just reset the tpms warning light on the dash or radio, but with this one it's not possible as far as I know.

Got vehicle unstuck and gas guage is now reading 1/4 tank when it should be full... took vehicle for a short test drive on fuel range mode and it does show fuel is being used. I'm guessing it's not a mechanical issue
@Calvin try this to see if it resets it. Park the vehicle on a level surface. Turn the ignition switch to the “On” position. Place the odometer display into the “ODO” mode. Turn off the ignition switch. Depress and hold the “ODO/TRIP” button while turning the ignition switch to the “On” position. Hold the ODO button for two seconds. Release and press the ODO button three more times within five seconds: Release-Press-Release-Press-Release-Press and Hold. Continue to hold the ODO button for at least five seconds until the leveling information is displayed on the odometer. Release the button. Depress and hold the “ODO/TRIP” button until the odometer display confirms that reset has begun (odometer reads “1”). Once reset is complete, the odometer returns to normal. Release the button. Turn off the ignition
You can do it without the scanner as long as you go in sequence. Front left, front right rear right rear left and start with the left front let air out until you hear the horn beep then do the right front and so on. If you don't believe me you can look it up. The scanner is just the easiest way to do it.

@@kurtsteven6228 I see, well the thing is when you take your vehicle to get an oil change and if the tires need to be rotated, many times they don't use a scanner to relearn their new locations. You can use a little bit of dawn mixed with water in a spray bottle and spray the tire all over to find a leak.
It's possible that the sensors need to be replaced. If you have access to a scanner, or know someone who does, check to see if the scanner detects the sensors.
One more reason to never buy a chevy. Good god. Put air in my gfs chevy and light still on with no reset tire pressure menu. My Toyota is goes off after 5 minutes of filling tire. Whatta joke.

Not that I'm aware of. Some car makers can be reset manually, however not all of them include that option.

There are many brands to choose from, but the brand we had at my previous employer was made by Autel model MaxiTPMS TS508.
All 4 of my pressures have 2 lines but no numbers any advice ?
