The one that annoys me is when people fly round corners at high speed, not knowing if there are parked cars or other hazards on the other side. Naturally, they don't indicate before doing so. We have roadworks near my house and some woman in an SUV did it and nearly crashed into me. You could see by her outraged Karen expression that she thought it was my fault.
SUV's and pickup trucks truly are a scourge on our roads.

I agree. Had a women in an audi fly around the corner on a blind corner. I was coming up the hill had to slam the breaks on. I beeped her she waved her arms at me telling me to calm down like it was my fault she nearly crashed head on into me. Some people think their above everyone else.

I live in Surbiton and it is exactly the same. People who drive German SUVs think they can drive however they like and are always in the right. There is a road that leads on to Maple road and they always cut the corner as they pull in, glaring at me for daring to be on the bit of road they want to be on as I wait to pull out. Also they always seem to think they have right of way so will just pull out from behind parked buses into the other lane to overtake, pull out in front of you at a roundabout or just pull out in front of you onto a main road.
Yeah, it’s not good in that part of the world. As a general rule of thumb - the more expensive the car the greater the self entitlement of the driver.
Note that right of way means right to use and applies to any public road. Priority means some road user has to give way to another.
The amount of times drivers pull out on me without looking is unbelievable and they never apologize. 🤦♂️

Welcome to Richmond! 😂 😂 😂 I am afraid that it isnt just in Richmond that many drivers dont respect or obey the rules of the road 🤯🤯 I do drive in London and see abysmal driving everyday, mind blowing to be fair! I could easily write a book about it 😂😂😂
Yes, have seen a lot of that, I gave up commuting from Croydon to South Kensington on a motorbike, white van man decided to do a u turn in front of me and quickly reversed catching my front wheel and bending the fork. Another time was when pedestrians ran out across the road right in front of me. Apparently to catch a bus on the other side of the road, I clipped one of them on the leg which brought him and me down and wrote the bike off, a lovely BMW GS, I was lucky, my helmet saved me when I slid along the road on the side of my head with just a few bruises elsewhere.
Then another time another driver pulled out in front of me to turn right but looking the other way and caught the rear of the bike which needed a new subframe, I managed to keep the bike upright and ran after the driver who was making off down the road and caught up with her in a traffic queue.
Too many drivers are dangerous and careless.
Have a drive round Wembley, I truly believe a lot of people who drive round Wembley have never taken a driving lesson in this country.
This is so very true, I worked with a guy many years ago who was from Wembley and the worst driver I ever had the pleasure of being a passenger to. when I asked him how long ago he'd passed his test, his reply was, my brother took it for me. Gobsmacked.

when I left work 8 pm drive home Streatham. Had drive two roundabouts
Elephant and Castle ( heart in my mouth) It was obvious to me most " drivers "
had NO !! Road - sense,whatsoever.
Then continued on South London, area before Streatham, same issues !!
My personal view most of these People had never passed their Driving Test + No road - sense!!
I liked this video as much for the commentary as I did for the onscreen muppetry. I can't say it's all perfect up here in sunny Manchester, but I don't recall any commute of mine being like yours. Although I do have a roundabout on my daily ride that makes me nervous, despite it being right next to the Greater Manchester Police Headquarters.

On your first clip, tricky to work out who had priority. It’s generally who got to the row of parked cars first.
So if you were overtaking the row of parked cars and the road was clear ahead, the mini should have given way.
Unfortunately it’s not just Richmond, it’s everywhere, but it seems to happen more often in Richmond!
There’s actually room for two cars to the side of the parked cars he just wasn’t paying attention. There is actually a faint line denoting the middle of the road and he was the wrong side of it. That said he was going way above the 20 mph limit and he has to give priority to more vulnerable road users.

It's not just richmond it's fucking everywhere!!! It's stressful to drive with people's standard dropping to as near as third worlds.
I am glad you are surviving. I am interested in something. Do you think at times the fact that your stealthy electric steed makes no noise means some numpties in some situations don't notice you? There is a school of thought in motorbiking that a noiser bike for commuting helps. But I am not sure about that as most are either on the phones or listening to the radio or both, or just away with the fairies so wouldn't hear you in WW2 tank towing a trailer with a Scandinavian death metal band cranked up to 11 on it. What do you think?
An interesting question, I have a very bright LED light and when coming up behind motorists really don’t have an issue with them being aware of me. It’s the people in side turnings or coming towards me that are usually the problem. Loud pipes tend not to help in those circumstances. However, your comment about music cranked up in cars is likely to drown out an ICE bike as well.
As for pedestrians and cyclists they do actually hear me coming as the bike makes a whirring sound like a tie fighter from Star Wars!

An ever increasing number of road users have the self entitlement attitude that I find quite depressing, very little chivalry left in today’s world. Maybe I should do a video based on letting people out of turnings or holding back to let them change lanes. I do it all the time but it never occurred to include them in a video before now!
I feel your pain, we live in our van, and travel around Europe for months at a time, and these morons are everywhere, and it gets worse the further you go, don't even consider driving in Turkey unless you have extremely good, expensive insurance and breakdown cover, we crashed into a car that pulled out in front of us in Turkey, we thought we had lost our home, luckily, the Turks are very good at repairing vehicles, but I understand why
In my experience, whilst there are indeed morons everywhere, they are VERY under-represented on Germany's roads. Someone over there knows how to teach people how to drive. Of course there are exceptions, but in the main.....
One other thing: if anyone thinks drivers are bad in Richmond, do not - whatever you do - go within 50 miles of Naples!

That first one was scary. You have cars on your left that could potentially open their doors to knock you into the street & the nut who won't get over near the curb. In addition, they blast the horn to further cause danger.
Yup but according to several trolls I’m at fault! The road is 5.8 m wide from the kerb to the parking bay, and another 1.8 m for the parking bay. The mini is only 1.8 m wide leaving 4m of spare road and I still have to swerve? Thanks for the comment
@@swss I've been watching some of these videos from the UK where cyclists show the video to police & the drivers get "points" on their record & fined. This guy definitely needs to be reported. He's dangerous.
Box junctions seem to confuse people the most, drivers have no idea how to negotiate them.
upload footage to met police . I had someone pull out of a junction infront of me the other day within close range and didnt even attempt to get up to to speed quickly. This was on a 40mph road. When I honked at him he made a brake check so I reported him and he was prosecuted. If every dashcam owner did this so many people would get points and would learn to behave as their insurance skyrockets and the risk of driving ban increases
There are two exit lanes on the roundabout, what was your problem?
Hi Alan, my problem was that he shouldn’t have pulled out in the first place and secondly the second lane you refer to only appears after you’ve turned off the roundabout and is actually a right turning only lane. I will concede that he left me room but I shouldn’t have to adjust my speed or direction to exit the roundabout especially given the high volume of traffic and the number of lanes on such a small roundabout.
Spot on you for putting up with it. Thankfully I live in a semi-rural English idyll. Well for now at least, the local town council want to build several hundred new houses where the fields are.
That my friend is the start of a very slippery slope. Happened where I live on Epsom Downs new builds everywhere, causes flooding due to the over run waste water as the system can’t cope, roads congested and people parking wherever they like bc nothing is policed properly! Not enough places at local schools etc etc so enjoy the peace whilst it lasts
@@swss Yes inadequate schools - no real sports facilities except private ones, no swimming baths, yet they want to flood us with people. There's only two roads into the village and they were going to permanently close one of them because of HS2. I'll take your advice and enjoy it while it lasts and take a quiet stroll across the fields to the pub. 👍
As someone who drives and cycles I tend to be as defensive as possible on two wheels and will often deliberately hang back or give way when I actually have the right of way because I know I am the most vulnerable if there is a misunderstanding OR a road bully.
Every driver or cyclist will have an occasional moment of lapse of concentration or make a wrong decision and I'm forgiving for most of these. I freely admit I have but I like to think it's not very often and out of character.
But there's a minority who are just dangerous to meet out on the roads.
I bought the t shirt of ‘expect motorists to understand it’s your right of way’ it was a painful experience and not one I want to repeat. I’m not a wing mirror smasher or want to have a confrontation, I’m commuting and just want to get on with the journey. Staff safe
@@swss And good to see you have two good wing mirrors on your own bike. I have similar and swear by them. Plus top quality lights and hi-vis on me and the bike and a helmet plus Bluetooth indicators. I drive a white van for a living mostly at night and despair of too many reckless and almost invisible cyclists and increasingly e-scooterists appearing out of nowhere at frightening speeds.

Mini did steer towards centre of road. It had right of way but cam vehicle is a scooter. There was room for both.
1st roundabout Tiguan should have given way. Scooter wisely took a line to the right but Tiguan driver may have interpreted incorrectly and expected scooter to use right hand lane.
2nd roundabout with Mazda is a poor junction. Right signal is correct but angle of mini roundabout could perhaps make signalling right seem like scooter is about to turn right around.
The road junctions are poorly conceived but lack of care by others is obvious. If the council is approached to rectify the poor junctions, the result will be lower traffic flow, greater bottlenecks and pollution. What the councils do typically increases frustration yet they claim greater safety.
Good comments, except for calling my motorbike a scooter! 🤣 the near miss with the mini , it’s a very wide road I was easily within my side of the road unfortunately so was half of his car. You can fit two cars going in different directions down the side of the parked cars, the road is that wide. He had 4 to 5 feet of room on the other side of his car. I ride this road every day and have never had this problem before.

perfectly legal to overtake on zig zag lines as long as you do not pass the vehicle closest to the crossing

Two options get an old defender with rail tracks as bumpers and plough on through, they wont win when the insurance see the footage, and the damage to the defender, (what damage) Or a few quite heavy nuts and bolts one dink in a BMW wing will cost them about £400 quid.
Sounds like a plan. Might take a bit longer to get home. The trail of destruction would be satisfying though!

I had your first scenario just recently, I was driving at the time. Parked cars on my side but plenty of room for two cars to pass. Just like your Mini, the guy just keeps coming straight at me. First I flash the light and nothing and then I see he is talking to his passenger. Hit the horn, he swerves left just a second before I was going to hit the brakes.

Why no, he also leans on the horn, mouths abuse and even stopped in the road and was going to attempt a turn to come after me except he (or his passenger) clearly changed his mind. I drive with front and rear cams for a reason, these absolute morons are everywhere.

LOL, a nothing like lumping a whole section of road users together, like for instance car drivers and saying they’re all psychopaths because you got cut up by a BMW. Welcome to the madness on the roads in the UK, the wiggly lines as you approach a pedestrian cross means you must not park or even stop your car at the side of the road as it interferes with a pedestrian’s view of the road when they are looking to cross on that type of crossing. It’s called a zebra crossing and pedestrians have right of way.

The driver of the car stranded in the middle of the road had been flummoxed by a no entry sign. They probably thought that if they waited a few minutes it might disappear. Typical Richmond behaviour.

yup, I also commute in and out of Central London one day a week, it's just the road layouts are not quite so bad as in Richmond.
The only really stupid thing I could see was a dog in the front seat of a car. Everything else is normal and to be expected on crowded roads. That's why we keep within 30mph.

There's been studies that found out that people in posher cars drive more selfishly and Richmond is well posh
Indeed, Richmond is as you said “well posh” although I don’t think most people needed the studies to be aware of the fact that most drivers of the up market German brands tend to be less considerate of other road users. But I wouldn’t restrict it to German brands there’s a Swedish brand that has joined the ranks and the Range Rover has always been the choice of the inconsiderate for decades.
Hardly fair on the people of Richmond. Your clip shows you driving through Kew, then along the boundary of Sheen & Richmond. Most of the people driving over Manor Circus aren't local. This clip is fairly tame though, I've lived on the Sandycombe Road for over 10 years, I've seen plenty worse, especially at Manor circus. Tip for you: take Enerdale Road, first right after Kew Village, then you can approach Manor Circus from the west and not have to wait for the idiots
If fairness I never said they live in Richmond just that the town was full of them, please accept the poetic license of including Kew etc as part of Richmond. And yes at a separate recommendation I have tried Ennerdale road since the episode, it appears to have fewer idiots using it, although many would say by me using it the number of idiots using it has already increased! 😕

For the black Lexus, you were behind his pillar. He looked at the Dacia in front of you but his pillar would have obscured the back of the car and you. Therefore, you are correct in that you'appeared' from nowhere. Be safe

The park is beautiful and the view from the hill over the river is great, but the traffic ! All the traffic to get out of Richmond has such limited options. I would love to avoid going through it but the detour is massive. And that small roundabout on the Lower Richmond Road !!

Yup, I’m a firm believer in going around the mini roundabouts not over them. But I doubt it made any difference as he doesn’t look as he approaches the roundabout.
I agree if still indicating right and not left when leaving the roundabout the rider is more to blame , I would also say passing a line of stationary traffic on the wrong side of the road with no obvious place to pull in is not cool.

He wasn't in the middle of the road and clearly you have no idea what 4.5 to 5 feet looks like. A mini is 1.727 m wide or 5ft 8 ins. Take a look at the gap to the kerb again.
After that I didn't bother to look at any more of what was clearly going to be a biased useless video.

I always wonder how people actually pass their tests, drivers nowadays don't have any thought for other drivers and ignore road signs & pedestrian crossings. I passed my car licence in the 70s & also my bike licence. I was taught to be helpful to other drivers & to watch for hazards ect. This hardly ever happens now, its like everyone for themselves & bollox to anyone who gets in their way.
yup, passed my test in the early 80s. I am bewildered by people driving with the attitude of; I'm don't need to comply with the rules of the road and other road users will have to take action around me to avoid an accident.
Should trying living here in Baildon, Yorkshire. Seems most people here own an SUV or pickup truck now and I can tell by the looks they give me that they despise me because I ride a bicycle. Had some prick in a Range Rover yesterday backing out of my local Tesco car park. There was a lorry next to him and barely any space for him to back out his stupid oversized car in general. He decided to start backing out right as I got out of the shop and unlocked my bike, so I was there pushing it in front of his car, waiting for him to do his silly little maneuver. He waved me through, so I had to fit myself and my bike through a tiny gap in between his Range Rover and the lorry. I bumped the trailer of the lorry a few times with one of my grips because there wasn't enough space. Didn't do any damage to the lorry though. Anyway, it was a sunny day, so after I got home and put my shopping away, I decided to go to Leeds (where there's plenty of separated cycle lanes) and have a ride about. It put me back in a good mood. My bike and those separated cycle lanes are pretty much my therapist. Helps me clear my head when I have to put up with tossers here in Baildon. Just hate having to return to this car-centric hellhole after having a nice ride in Leeds.
There are a few good cities cycle wise Oxford in particular
London is not one of them mainly due to the levels of traffic and believe it or not other cyclists. I have spinal damage from an accident where I was knocked off by cycle by another cyclist jumping a red light!
As for the Range Rover story that’s actually not that bad where I live in leafy Surrey if there’s no parking space to fit a Range Rover they will literally park with all four wheels on the pavement and god help you if you say something to them about it the abuse is vitriolic!

I have little regards for the police who only seem interested in arresting people for hate speech. When I had my first Zero motorbike stolen the Met Police informed me within 24 hours that they'd closed the case as there was little chance of recovering the bike. The only reason it took them 24 hours to inform me was that I reported it on Sunday! IKYN

Hi Andy you are correct but in this instance it’s not straight on its at the one o’clock position from a 6 o’clock position which is technically a right turn when approaching the roundabout. Everyone indicates right to go down the hill. That said irrespective of indication the driver simply didn’t look. Stay safe.

Yup realised that after I’d done the commentary but it was too difficult to go back and re record so instead said so in the comments. As a petrol head this is an egregious oversight on my behalf, straight to the back of the class for me!

Yup, it was the fact that this all happened in one continuous 3 mile stretch I struggled to comprehend. But that’s the way it goes you can have days where nothing happens and then one day where it’s just continuous frustration

You moaned about the mini being central to the road, why were you riding at the end on the other side of the road, where oncoming vehicles would be coming toward you?

I WAS in my own lane. The cars I’m passing are parked cars at the side of the road. There is approximately five foot of room from the parked cars to the middle of the road, it’s a very wide road but has no central white line. I’m easily on my side of the road and about two foot away from the centre of the road, the mini is over the centre of the road on my side of the road! There’s actually room for two cars to pass to the side of the parked cars.

Well that’s filtering, motorcycles are allowed to filter past stationary traffic, it is part of the Highway Code and I had checked that there was no traffic coming towards me. My apologies if you felt my rebuttal was too aggressive previously as I had misconstrued your comment.

In fairness to that HGV driver. He was in the right to block the keep clear box...If he was to keep out of the keep clear box on the roundabout then you lot would of taken the piss as you all usually do and pull out when the exit to your left was moving leaving the HGV driver stuck there.....because as the traffic was moving only a cars length in front of him, as brain dead car drivers do what there all good at is push in.....😂
Actually, in fairness to all that block the keep clear box, the brain dead ones are the road planners that thought it was a good idea to put zebra crossings on all the exits to the roundabout. Sure I’m going to get pedestrians trolling me over that comment.
