My Toro Powerclean 6.5 QZE has had a hard life going through deep snow and plow snowbank at the end of the driveway. When I saw we were going to get at least 10 inches of snow, I ordered a Ariens Deluxe 28 snowblower from Lowes and it was delivered the next day. Great machine. Rated for 72 tons of snow an hour and chews through the plow snowbank. Started right up on the first pull. We ended up getting 15 inches of snow and it made quick work of it. Either Toro or Ariens will be decent machines. I could have gotten the Toro for 400 less that's pretty comparable and probably been happy with it. Ariens has been making machines for 40 years so wanted to try one out.
Thanks for the great video. I am looking to buy an Ariens snowblower and the information you shared would definitely help me to choose and use snowblower. I think the Ariens is a brand to go if the budget allows.
The Ariens Compact and the models below that don't have throttles, but the models above the Compact do have a throttle control. I have the Deluxe 24, and it has a throttle control, and I would think that the ones above that one would too.
Also, I cannot get it to go slower in 1st gear even after adjusting is several times. If I go too much the other way the 1st gear slow changes to reverse. Strange

Agreed. If you have the money, it is definitely the right choice!

Have exact same machine and if I would prime mine that many times it would flood every time. :)

does that engine have a fuel shutoff valve?
It does
There are NO stainless steel parts on this snowblower, just mild steel. Also, three pushes of the primer bulb should be sufficient.
Used twice
Stainless steel
Im out
I prefer the craftsman in my other video… better price and better abaility
