My favorite thing to film is Parkour and a lot of times I don't have anyone to film me so I really like getting those POV shots with my GoPro. I use the hat clip as a mouth mount since I've learned that the mouth is the most stable part of your body while moving :D

Hey Chris! Almost 100k congrats man!! Loved the video. My Broll suggestion is also drop your camera on the ground. We get lazy to shoot anything below waist height but changing the angle and getting on the floor . gives that interesting feeling for the viewer of being part of the scene in an omniscient way.
    Peace ✌️

anyone can tell which drone this was recorded on actually? i know, gear is not important, but i'm just curious since it looks more dense than the usual 20-24mm you find on those mavics and phantoms. I assume it's an inspire with a 50mm or something? anyway, looks really dope.

I think the variety of shots is a really important point. Sometimes too many close ups can feel a bit claustrophobic and adding a nice wide can help the piece breathe. When I'm making videos for clients I'm quite good at it, but I think I could do with focusing on it more on TH-cam.
I also think shooting b-roll with an idea of where you might put graphics in the future can be really useful. It often helps to be aware of how busy, bright and contrasted a shot is so any text you might put over it isn't going to clash.
Great video, thanks for making it.

Chris! I'm so stoked you touched base on this. Honestly, I'm kind of tired of seeing slow-mo on 120fps on almost every video. There are so many more creative ways to tell a story rather than slowing things down although there's a time and place for that as well.

This is more a transition rather than just b-roll but if your have a go pro and a camera. Set the go pro up on your head/chest/face and set them both to record so whoever is watching can see you filming through your POV. Then you can lift the camera so it's at the centre of the gopro frame and use a zoom transition to switch to the camera's view. I used it in my latest video and I thought it was pretty cool! Still perfecting it though 👊

Good thing about being broke is you can't afford a camera that shoots 120 fps so you never have this problem 😂😂

Great tips Chris! Next on my list of purchases is either a gimbal (looking at a crane) or a drone (probably the dji air)!

Hellz Ya! So glad you made this! I’ve been so tired of the huge 120fps B-Role craze goin on. Let’s see some change!
I’m totally into the POV view and 24fps.

except this video had nothing to do with frame rate. it was just showing shot types, all of which can be done at any frame rate
