    CASE DETAILS
Former mayor of Cornelius Ralph Brown missing since May 16, suffers from dementia and had not had his memory or heart medication since he left his Cornelius, Oregon.
His daughter, Laurie Saunders, said during a news conference that she spoke with her father the night he went missing shortly after 9pm and that he wasn’t sure exactly where he was.
He told her he was “literally in the bushes,” and that he might be near a golf course, but couldn’t give her more specific details. He also asked if people were out looking for him.
She told him to wait for a call from his son, who was going to go out and find him, but Brown didn’t answer the phone after that, and nobody has been able to find him, even though hundreds of people out there helping with the search.
Brown is 76 years old, about 5-foot-10, with white hair and blue eyes. He's also missing the tip of his index finger.
His car is a dark blue, 2014 Nissan Sentra with Oregon plates.
There had been a few sightings reported, but none were substantiated, said Daryle Brown, Ralph Brown’s son.
Daryle said his parents were in their home on May 16 when Brown stood up and said he was going to his “other house.”
Ralph has early-onset Alzheimer’s symptoms, which leads to confusion. He no longer has a driver’s license and has not driven a car in more than a year, Daryle said.
He drove away from the home in the 600 block of South 12th Avenue in Cornelius, Oregon.
There had been no location pings on his phone after 10:25pm that evening, and no communication from Brown in the time since he’s been missing.
This video/documentary shares with you the final search for Ralph and what it took to bring him home.

I just wanted to pop in here and say, there is no shame in the joy that he's been found. I know so many people are so judgemental and berate loved ones and the search teams for being happy, and uplifted when the missing are found, but you should be happy. You should feel blessed. You have them back and it lifts such an immense burden from your soul. Ralph can rest peacefully now xx

Jared, I am a detective and have been in law enforcement since 1995. A back ground investigator once asked my husband what my best trait was he said, "tenacious" the investigator then asked what my worst trait was he said, "tenacious" You fall in that same title as me. This episodes reaction is proof positive you are the best at your work. Never ever ignore your intuition. Your dedication, determination, and tenaciousness is why you never gave up on Ralph. Jared, a professional grows with every intervention they perform. This is every professional in any field. I am a retired RN with 40 years critical care experience. I have done sleep studies as well as noninvasive vascular studies. There is a learning curve with everything you do. I have walked into a patient's room in the ICU and instinctively knew something was wrong. So you check and double check. You think on it and go back and check again. It could be that an EKG lead is a little loose. It could be anything. You said yourself the water is deeper than it was. There is a lot of debris. Atmospheric changes could have moved the debris and now the car is visible. Your gut led you back. You have not let the family down. Don't kick yourself around the block. But the fact that you question yourself is the sign of a consummate professional. When you question yourself you grow as a person. Stay safe.

Agree, nomatter how many times they've scanned the area and searched it can be an easy miss each time, details that are camouflaged into the aquatic floor is easy to miss; the fact they find missing people including this one shows they care and really work very hard to find missing people their heart cares so much that they develop an emotional connection for the missing and the family with the missing loved ones. I'm glad he's found and the many others they've found too.

I could tell how torn up Jared was about having missed this vehicle on his other searches there. It's not your fault, Jared. There were a lot of circumstances that prevented you from seeing it on the sonar. My guess is that it was camouflaged by the trees and debris at the time. You trusted your instincts and didn't give up. You have learned and gotten more experience. Try not to beat yourself up. I know that's easier said than done, but remember, no one else found him either. You kept asking yourself "What if I missed something?" and kept going back to make sure; and in the end, you found him and brought him home. The fact that you were so upset shows how much you care. I have watched this episode like 5 times, @23:59 when Carson asks if Jared found Ralph, the look of determination on Jared's face and the emotion welling up in him get's me every time. I cry along with many others for the emotional moment you go through Jared. You held it together knowing you were on camera but I can tell you this, if it were me, I would have/and have been balling my eyes out. Such a testament to you and Doug and the crew for not giving up. And the bunny is clearly a sign from God in my humble opinion. Doug you brink up the Carrie may Parker point of the balloons, and you are right, there is 'extra energy' or higher power at work with you guys, don't dismiss those signs. I don't know if anyone else notices this but EVERY time Doug goes under water he crosses his chest in prayer. I do it with you Brother, every time. I have seen the news about your loss recently Doug and I am so sorry.

Jared, you've said in defense of other agencies that things can read different at different times. And that your skills developed over time. Extend that graciousness to yourself. And that you've kept searching you've not let them down. If you would've said 'it's clear and we're done', that would've let them down. It's ok to feel sad that you missed him before, but forgive yourself any ill will you've got. As you say, you're learning more and more every season. Ultimately you brought closure to another family, thank you for being tenacious in your drive to help.

Jared, you found him when you were meant to find him. You’ve learned and continue to learn so much and so quickly. The important thing is that you didn’t give up and you listened to that voice inside you that kept pulling you back. Give yourself the same grace, love and understanding that you would give your crew, your friends or your family. You deserve that much for yourself. Beating yourself up isn’t going to make anything better or easier. Now you can take the knowledge you’ve gained to help other families and going ahead you’ll learn to trust that instinct or inner voice when you feel it.
You and Doug are really an amazing team. You talk things out when you disagree about what you see or don’t see but you understand that the other isn’t saying it to be hurtful but to help a family. It’s a kind of understanding we all should try to have for others.

You have always been honest with the families, and did the best you could on every search, it's just that wonderful intuition that beats away at you, that gives you reason to try again. I recall Maria Shriver telling a story of her mom, who would ask each child what they did that day to help others. As each replied of their accomplishments, Eunice would ask them, "Did you do enough? Could you have done more?" and I happen to think you are a shining example of someone who always does more. This video certainly proves it. Doug is such a motivational and inspirational person and he truly understands that your expertise grows over time and revisiting cases and areas with new info is what can make you successful. As a Newberg resident, I so appreciate your thoroughness on this case...even though it caused conflicted feelings on your previous searches...the fact that you came back and the Family has closure NOW 🙏 is A BIG TESTAMENT TO THE TYPE OF PEOPLE YOU ARE. THANK YOU Jared, Doug and crew and your family ...Blessed to have you in our neighborhood.

Conflicted feeling? Why, if I may ask?

    • @ghostlyexe
      @ghostlyexe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

@@eirschu8973 I think they feel guilty cause they had already searched that area before and completely missed the car, several times. But they shouldn’t feel bad because they were determined to find him and bring his family peace and went back to the area again, to check again. Like he was saying, he’s worried if he missed this car checking three different times, how many other missing people did he miss in the past?
What they did was extremely difficult and even law enforcement was unable to find the car. They did something incredible and solved his case for free, because they cared about the family members and finding the missing person, not for profit. I understand why he feels guilty, but they’re doing their best and they cannot beat themselves up for not being perfect, because no one is gonna be perfect. They’re good people who are doing something so kind and selfless, they cannot forget that just because they may have made a mistake. They never gave up, and they brought peace to his family.

Stumbled onto this. Absolutely remarkable! Had no idea this kind of thing existed on TH-cam. As a videographer myself, this is excellent work. Storytelling, editing, audio, angles, and of course the purpose of the work…. just remarkable!
I don’t subscribe to TH-cam channels. Very, very rarely. But this is one that moved me enough to subscribe. Keep it up gentlemen. Amazing work you all do!

I started watching 2 years ago. when they only had 2 cases solved (the first one they stumbled upon a missing person - Timothy Robinson). AWP became the first channel on TH-cam I subscribed to. Since then, they've solved another 20+ cases, and the production value and their skills continually get better!

THANK GOD FOR THESE MEN! I am so grateful that if I am ever missing a loved one, I could plead for help from these amazing and incredibly gifted human beings!!! These are incredible first responders that have volunteered their way into the hearts and minds of the world! Now they have managed to build a following and upgraded their equipment and RV, and in true hero style donated their used RV to a fellow team doing the same thing. The supporters have managed to fund over twenty recoveries of missing loved ones! Even one is worth immeasurable funds and time.

My heart was broken seeing you upset like this Jared. Don't beat yourself up. Things happen and can be overlooked. What matters is that you listen to your gut instinct and found Ralph and brought him home. Your on the road alot and of course your bound to get tired and off key. I know, I'm a paranormal investigator and how many cases I invested, evidence to review and more gets to you. But you never gave up and kept following your instincts. Thank you so much to you and the AWP Team for what you do, go through and bringing the loved ones home so these families can have answers & closure. My prayers & condolences to the Brown family

Oh Jared, seeing you so upset hurts. You're such a caring person doing such a hard job. You haven't let anyone down, you kept trying. You found him. There are so many factors to these kinds of investigations as others have mentioned. You did good here.

I just want to say to each of you involved in AWP (especially Jared & Doug) that I love & admire what you have done in such a short period of time to help families that are desperately seeking answers & closure & even if never found just to know that someone cared enough to try! I never miss a show & I especially love at the end of the show when you do the tribute to the person. It gives us that even though we never met the person a chance to feel like we do & to celebrate his life & share our love to the family. Thank you will never be enough to cover the appreciation for all each of you do & sacrifice in your life & families! Love & prayers & continued success for the AWP Team !! ❤

Absolutely no one faults you for not finding him sooner. As you have said, with every difficult recovery you learn valuable lessons and acquire more experience that helps you do your best work. Everything happens when it’s supposed to happen, and this was the day you were meant to find Mr. Brown. This lesson is going to help you find someone else in the future. Keep looking for signs, guys, because the balloons in the Parker case were way too on-the-nose to dismiss! Millions of people are praying and cheering you on, and that’s a whole lot of positive energy making things happen in the Universe. Thank you, from all of us who can’t be there every day! #BringThemAllHome !

Wow. What an emotional episode. That look on Jared’s face when they found that vehicle hidden amongst those trees literally broke my heart. It just shows that you should never give up. Jared, please don’t be so hard on yourself. What you do for so many is so hard to do. My heart breaks each and every time I watch your recoveries. I can’t begin to imagine the stress on you and your entire crew along with your family. I’m very proud of you for doing all of this at no cost to the families. It takes a very strong person to this because you know in your gut that when you find your target it’s the end to a tragic loss. But it’s the beginning of the healing as well. It’s very humbling to watch you all at work. May God bless you all and keep you safe. And please take time to destress and mourn in your own way. Yes, it is closure! But it’s not a easy closure for any of you. Love you and all of your crew and thank you so much for your continued fight to help all in need for answers.

I nearly cried when Jared started tearing up 😭 please, please do NOT feel bad. You found him and the family will forever be eternally grateful. Do not second guess anything. You did amazing, as does Doug and the rest of your team. Chin up, you've not let anybody down. Families out there are very lucky to have you guys do what you do. Don't feel bad at all, your instinct is always right and it just proves it when you said you found Ralph before you even dived on the car. ❤️ Keep being amazing. X

I hope people fully realise the danger that Doug puts himself in with these rescues, not once but several times over from the dives in dangerous conditions to the dangerous task of vehicle recovery, utmost respect to anyone willing to risk their own lives to do this for others. I cried several times from the heartfelt guilt from missing the car previously to the respectful recovery. Worlds a better place for such amazing people as yourselves.

It makes me feel a little bit better about how many times an area has been searched by other dive teams, then you come along and find it within an hour or two. When even experts like you can miss it the first try, it is easy to see how those other dive teams can miss something. But you didn't give up. Something brought you back. Forty feet down, covered with trees, how easy it would be to miss it. But you found it, and you brought him home for the family. Good work. Thanks for being as wonderful as you are.
