I feel like you scored a really great apartment! This is my first time to see a Central Tokyo apartment under $1000 with that huge balcony. Usually it’s just an enough size to dry clothes, yours is a good size!
We agree! We’re impressed with the balcony too! At some point we want to add an outdoor shelf for plants, and maybe high table so we can enjoy tea and stuff outside too ☺️
So interesting to see all the different appliance stores (and sushi restaurants!) Love getting a glimpse into the process of moving into an apartment in Tokyo. Congratulations on your new place 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much! We happy to have gotten this apartment 😁 And we’re REALLY glad that you enjoyed the shopping and eating bits of the video too! It’s all part of the Japan life 🙌
I liked your choice!!! It was so polite of you to give tea to the workers! Congrats on your new place! I'm planning a Tokyo trip in 2025 and you have a new follower now!!! Thank you for sharing with us!!
Aww thank you so much, and welcome to our channel! It’s awesome that you’ll be visiting Tokyo, is it gonna be the first time? (If you ever want ideas for things to do here, we’ve got some Tokyo travel recommendations on our Instagram page.)
@@itsjeffandmel First time!! I want to learn the language a bit in 2024 and go in 2025, I think this is important right? I will check your instagram, thank you!! I will watch the videos here too! Thank you for aswer!!
@@jessicamolinari9097 You're right! While Central Tokyo is one of the most english-friendly areas of Japan, knowing some Japanese means you can explore more local shops and restaurants. It's really great that you're planning to learn! Ganbatte! 💪
Nicole! Thank you, and what a pleasant surprise to see a comment from you! I hope all is well on your end too. We’d love to show you around if ever visit Tokyo and have time to meet up. 🥹
Aw thank you! We’re definitely glad we choose this one! Did you work or study in Japan before? It’s really an incredible place and we hope to share more vlogs of our life here. ☺️
@@itsjeffandmel yes! I used to live and work as an architect in Bunkyo. I will definitely come back in the future. It was awesome. Looking forward to your vlogs ☺
I'm going to be doing something similar with a house I bought In Tokyo, so this was very helpful! I'm going to have the added challenge of hiring a delivery company that can crane-lift my appliances up to a 2nd floor window, because the only staircase in my house is spiral stairs that I think would be impossible to get a washing machine and refrigerator up. I have been told this is somewhat common, with the interior stairs of many Japanese homes not being designed for furniture and appliance moving. The tip with offering delivery people tea is great! Thank you!
Glad this was useful for you! The crane-lift situation isn’t ideal, but also… good thing it’s in Japan- since movers will be very careful and respectful of your property. 😊 Anyways, hope it all goes/has gone smoothly and that you can enjoy your new home!
your video got suggested to me today and i’m so happy i watched, i love moving vlogs (especially japanese apartment moving vlogs)!! this was so fun to watch 🥰 can’t wait to see more!

Hi love your journey moving to new place and setting all up. Can I ask where you get your tatami mat? And how much?
We’re glad that you enjoyed watching! ☺️
Our tatami mat was ordered here: www.ikehikoshop.jp/view/item/000000000335
We chose the green colour in 140x210cm size. Hope this helps!
Super thanks.
Can I ask how do you guys live in Japan? I used to study there and really want to go back!
We’re here on a work visa and spousal visa! It’s a fun place to live and I can totally see why you’d wanna come back! Would you choose Tokyo or try some other place?
Where did you sleep the first day?
We still had access to our previous apartment! It's good that we planned a 1-week overlap where we could access both our old and new home.
No bed frame?
We have a fold-up tatami & futon that we pull out each night!
❤🌈🌞🥰
