- We finally moved into our new apartment in Tokyo, and we’re so excited to update you guys on our progress! In this video, we’ll be sharing our moving process including appliance shopping, setting up utilities, Japanese etiquette tips that we learned, and more. I feel like you scored a really great apartment! This is my first time to see a Central Tokyo apartment under $1000 with that huge balcony. Usually it’s just an enough size to dry clothes, yours is a good size!
We agree! We’re impressed with the balcony too! At some point we want to add an outdoor shelf for plants, and maybe high table so we can enjoy tea and stuff outside too ☺️

I'm going to be doing something similar with a house I bought In Tokyo, so this was very helpful! I'm going to have the added challenge of hiring a delivery company that can crane-lift my appliances up to a 2nd floor window, because the only staircase in my house is spiral stairs that I think would be impossible to get a washing machine and refrigerator up. I have been told this is somewhat common, with the interior stairs of many Japanese homes not being designed for furniture and appliance moving.

Glad this was useful for you! The crane-lift situation isn’t ideal, but also… good thing it’s in Japan- since movers will be very careful and respectful of your property. 😊 Anyways, hope it all goes/has gone smoothly and that you can enjoy your new home!

@@itsjamlife I was there for 3 weeks in October. Stayed in the major areas of Tokyo and up north in Iwate. I went to Sendai too. It was a packed trip and loved every minute. Your vlogs are so great for me who is missing Japan 😊😊😊

Yay twins! 🤣 Actually, one of our friends STRONGLY urged us to get a fridge with an ice maker and we are so glad we did! It’s gonna be soooo good especially for the summer haha

We still had access to our previous apartment! It's good that we planned a 1-week overlap where we could access both our old and new home.
