I’m at my 4th TDM at the moment . My first two had each 190.000 km and 240.000 km on the counter ( bike courier in a car infested Belgium) never had any problems with the bikes ,just maintenance nothing else . Did Spain,Portugal,Italy, greece ,Marokko and Tunesie with them . I’m 1m86 tall and even on the highway at 140km this bike is my favorit . Slip on exhausts ( really nice growl) kn air filter , changed the cooling fluids with high quality fluid! Higher screen and that.s about it . These bikes cost nothing second hand and they keep on going . Even on track days on very twisty tracks a lot of more powerfull bikes couldn’t keep up . My next TDM is standing in my garage as a follow upper 😎 greets from Belgium . Eddy

love the bike and the mods on it! I also own a 2005 TDM 900 with 85000 kilometers on it. Such a great bike.

Cool topbox! Looks a lot better than the standard moped style round plastic ones 😁

Great review. They look good in black. I have a TRX850 currently. Thinking of getting a TDM900 to go with it. Both are very underrated bikes.

I like Your style bro! Eveyrything made to be functional. I did a trip long about 1000km on my babe last time and first thing I will upgrade is the saddle. High windshield and handguards I allready have and they do the job.

Not sure if you have watched mod 3 , “ the biggest mod “ a Suzuki Vstrom 650 front forks , wheel , fork brace , upgraded brakes etc etc , just got back from a four day trip it was fantastic . The 19 inch front wheel gives better tyre selection.

Did you need to extend any cables or wires to get that handlebar riser on? Looks like about 5 cm taller?

I have an 2009 and love it. How did you install that metal bar with the quad lock ? Is it connected to the mirror base or how? Thanks

It’s just a dirt bike cross member , I had it from an old dirt bike , but have seen them on eBay . I have also ordered a fork brace as well , apparently even makes a big difference with the stock front end .

Good bike but the TREK 1130 is something different.. Exotic bike.. Why you sold her?For the fuel consumption?

    • @itsallabouttheridekeepingi4449
      @itsallabouttheridekeepingi4449  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

vagelis koios I loved the 1130 “ best handling bike I have ever owned & comfortable as well . Fuel consumption was high but can be sorted with tune ECU - didn’t quite get to that .

@@itsallabouttheridekeepingi4449 I have an Africa twin 1000 and always I look for a TREK.. I fell in love with this bike for the first time who I saw her.. In my opinion one of the most beautiful bikes ever.. I didn't bought her wait because I am afraid the reliability.. But for second bike I will try to buy her.. You had reliability issues?

Quick question, you said youve done all the mods on this bike . What would you recommend ?
    Cheers John

John McCloskey depends on what you want your bike for , I’m setting my up for around trip of Australia next year with some off road riding during the trip .
So what do you what to use the bike for ?

@@itsallabouttheridekeepingi4449 . I am a former road racer who wants something easy to ride, can tour on with my wife and still have fun with the boys. I have done a lot of research on these things and have some ideas in mind . I have a pair of Over Racing carbon mufflers ready to go on; Ill add a power commander to smooth out low down torque; Ill get some flutes for inside the airbox to smooth out the flow as well as add a K&N air filter. I'm waiting on calliper adaptors to come from a shop in Greece to change the front brakes to Yamaha R1 six potters (it seems the TDM has cult status in Greece and anything special is already made there :-) Ill also firm up the suspension but have no intention to change the front end; if I did I would have went for a 17" wheel for tyre choices, but that would lower the bike too much, soo Ill leave as is. I like the Michelin Pilot 4s & 5s anyway and I don't really plan to go off road. Love the bike and a very late in life find- I have owned a TRX 850 before . Cheers

@@johnmccloskey8524 sounds like you have it covered fella , if your only doing road hard panniers are the go for touring, the 19 inch front wheel had actually given me more clearance in the corners ( slower turn in but ) as a road racer you would understand this . But I’m getting used to it . My last bike was a 1130 Benellli Trek , before that a Triumph Tiger 1050 sport . Iv used all the pilots 2,3,,4 & road 5,s . Best pilots I had was the 3 front and rear 4 GT . But did switch to Metzler Roadtec 01 - fantastic rear . But I reckon know the is the Dunlop Roadsmart 3 ( and they do an 18 front as well ) the rear is just not quite as good as the Metzler or Pilot 4-5 rears ( but equal to the 3,s ) but they last HEAPS longer and HEAPS cheaper . I have also done the low RPM mods & K&N filter as well . I’m fitting braided lines at present. Found out I can get an adapter plate for the Suzuki 650 VStrom front brakes ( to fit CBR 600 RR twin pot callipers, and a few other models as well . If the braided lines don’t do much will do the CBR conversation.

Simon Fuller I ride it and do regular maintenance on it “ not polish it “ that’s why it’s all about the ride ! if I wanted a polished bike to go to coffee shops on and drink lattes would buy a Harley Davidson
