    Glad to see RTINGS respond to your question in a classy and straightforward way. Also, I'm glad to see Panasonic back in North America again, and I see that their Mini-LED tv has a 55-inch size, so it might be on my short list of TVs to consider buying later this year. Looking forward to your review of it.

    PANASONIC!! I currently watch on a 15+ y.o. 65" Panasonic. I'm still happy with the picture, but it is past its prime. The idea of a new Panasonic model is exciting. I hope the new models are as innovative as mine was (in its time.)
    Also, I would love to see a tv with as advanced a picture as the A95L, but without the costly extras. The speakers are an abomination. And, I have a top-tier AVR + speakers. Also, I would never use the camera, so that is money wasted.

      I think Panasonic is a bit expensive in Sweden to, but here i can get a 65 inch oled now for 1589$ or the 55 inch for 1308$. How can the tv be that expensive in Japan, when they are from Japan?

    • @JuanGarcia-lh1gv
      @JuanGarcia-lh1gv 31 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      Electronics in Japan are more expensive than other countries in general. Even cheap, budget tvs are anywhere from 50% to twice as expensive. And in Japan Sony and Panasonic are considered high quality, premium brands, so theyre even MORE expensive!

    I wish that sharp was still around making modern 4k tvs. I used to use a tv vhs combo from sharp back in the 90s. I even used a tv that required using a rotating dial knob to change the channels and an antenna to get decent tv reception. I'm just glad that the modern tvs are not as heavy as the old crt tvs lol. It makes moving the tv much easier to move when using a tv stand. It's good to see panasonic coming back to making modern tvs since they have 4k blu ray players. It's too bad that oppo no longer makes 4k blu ray players since they have focused on making smartphones instead of having both like the modern 4k blu ray players while also having a separate division for there 4k blu ray players and smartphones similar to sony and samsung. Samsung and sony both still sells phones, tvs and 4k blu ray players so it's a possibility for other manufacturers to do similar things and make similar products but with there own engineering while supporting the products and services for consumers to buy. Unfortunately, people only know about certain products as long as the manufacturers market there products thru advertising or thru consumers that are interested in niche products.

    I remember when Panasonic left. Back in the late 90s early 2000s, the vast majority of electronic stores took a stand against them. Their tvs were horrible. I worked at a electronics store and our back area was full of broken Panasonic tv's. And Panasonic refused to even look at their faults. For every 3 Panasonic TV's sold, we get back 2 that were broke. So my company and others like best buy refused to bring in Panasonic TV's. One of the few times all the big chains refused a product. Instead of figuring out their issues, they left. I hope they are good tv's now. I still don't trust them. Yes. Their plasma tv's were great. But that was a small slice of their tv catalog. They just were not worth having in stock in a store.

    Seems like Panasonic will slot right in between that spot between LG/Samsung and Sony. Most of the panels max capability are going to probably be similar (G4 MLA WOLED vs Z95A MLA WOLED, S95D vs A95L QD-OLEDs etc), just slight differences in video processing, heat dissipation and audio implementation.
    not really expecting them to come out with some new miniled/oled technology so they'll probably continue to put their software processing stack on whatever LG/Samsung Displays gives them

  • @erieeddie8683
    @erieeddie8683 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

    I’m guessing your marginally more excited about the W95a LCD over the Z95 OLED due to its price point. The flagship OLED comes only 65” and is as expensive as a tv gets in that size so its market will be tiny by comparison. The W95 being Panasonics flagship LCD is way more competitively priced so it will be interesting to see how it holds up verses the other flagship LCDs available. I won’t pay the “Sony Tax” for the B9 but if the Panasonic can get close for so much less it could be a big winner. The little I’ve seen it has a more user friendly menu particularly with picture settings. Really hoping it is a value champ. I have 3 Panasonic upper-mid level edge lit LCDs from 2013-2014 still performing like new. For me I’m torn between the X90L, X93L(few available), B7 and perhaps the W95. I have Roku & Fire attached to every tv and home theatre systems but watch mostly antenna and some Blu-ray. Upscaling and the ability to watch football during the day in my bright living room are critical to me.

They dont support dolby vision they use HDR 10+ which is a big flop since most streaming service and movies dont support it. Now they are conming out with a audio gimmick so they can stop supporting dolby atmos.

    Re the Pink / Green tint that Oled's can and do suffer from, plus LG Oleds suffer from
    banding, just try one on a grescale test and the tinting and banding are there to see.
    Clearl;y LG standards are not high enough when they allow the bad samples to reach
    customers.

    Almost time for the Fluance give away or did miss it?! C'mon new turntable!! 😂 Edit....Doh! Just got to the end!! Lol congrats to the winner! I guess I'll just have to save some more pennies and prioritize new turntable, theatre furniture, and new tower speakers for my rear surrounds....oh and choice of a new tv now that Panasonic is coming back....what a dilemma to have eh?! Hahaha😂😂😂

    Only Panasonic could manage to take a panel and processing as universally renowned as the ones in the Z95A and put them in a cabinet that looks like the $200 onn my grandma just picked up down at Walmart. Sorry folks, but it's just ugly. That said, if it performs as well as its European counterpart, I may have to fall in love with its personality.

    oooh, I didin't know Panasonic was coming back, that's good to hear. I wonder if it'll make the leap across the Border for those of us in Canada. I've always enjoyed what they've come up with. Its one of the reasons that I have their 4K bluray player bookmarked for the eventuality that I'm setting up a theater room in the future.

    I wish the audio was better on streaming platforms. Say like Netflix and Amazon for example. They neuter any and all low end bass extension which is catered for TVs and Soundbars. Why do we that have proper sound systems but want to stream, have to suffer? We should be able to choose if we want the full bass extension version or the neutered version in the settings of these streaming platforms. It would be streaming that much better and might be the nail in the coffin for Blu-ray.

      1) How do you expect to get uncompressed audio through Wi-Fi?
      2) You’d rather pay monthly for life and risk your movies and TV shows getting delisted instead of owning them via 4K Blu-Ray?

    • @dicmccoy
      @dicmccoy 7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@jollama let me see. We have hi-res audio streaming for music. Our internet bandwidth is more than ample this day and age. I already pay more for Netflix 4k which just got another price increase, and with very little actual 4k content, so lossless streaming in that plan should be included. And physical media? I almost fell off my dinosaur laughing.

      @@dicmccoy Your lossless streaming argument only nets you CD quality, that’s far from uncompressed Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. I’m the one who almost fell off laughing at you owning nothing. See what happens when you stop paying your Netflix subscription that you yourself even know got another price increase. The only reason you’d still be laughing after cancelling is because you’re delusional

      One of the reasons I started collecting physical blu-rays and 4ks a few years ago, at least for many of my favorite movies...got so tired of problem you allude to, compression of audio and also video on streaming services. I pay hard earned bucks for a nice 4k tv and speakers, so only way to fully realize inherent quality of the device(s) is via a 4k blu-ray player.

    The only reason Panasonic has returned to the U.S. is to increase their market share. It is obvious that the rest of the world was not generating enough revenue for them. I would not even contemplate purchasing a Panasonic because they are using Fire TV IOS and in my opinion not a good choice. I use Google TV and I love everything about it. It's layout is excellent and navigation is a dream.
