- Another toy purchase this month that begins with regret and ends up winning me over. I've never been much of a fan of the stylization and joint system of Revoltech action figures but the Amazing Yamaguchi Deadpool from Marvel is really amazing. After a learning curve and the realization that it's not meant to vanilla pose or replace the Marvel Legends figure on the shelf, of course.

@@jjboi6008 Well yeah, that's kinda the thing with Revoltech and Amazing Yamaguchi; it's an acquired taste. I would've prefered if they weren't as complex as they were, but that's what they are; and that's what makes them different from every other figure company.

The Fwoosh it's exactly like you said. This type of FIGURE works perfecct for this character . I had all the iron man and sold almost all of them but this I'm getting
Oh definitely, I think if they keep it up with proper character selection and don't start throwing big names in just for the sake of sales this could be the start of something awesome. Spider-Man being next is a perfect choice.

8:25 I glad to see that the Revoltech stands have been improved, as the stand that came with Revoltech Boba Fett was very questionable.
I'm glad you gave this a chance and didn't just write it off for being ugly like I've seen a lot of people do. I knew you hated fidgety stuff, and this is the epitome of fidgety if you want a good looking pose. Yamaguchi produces some of my favorite figures (Ultron, Metatl Gear Solid figures, Monster Hunter figures), his priority is articulation, and so is mine. I believe there is also a Venom coming out after Spidey, so that should be exciting, and of course whatever comes after that.
Spidey and Venom should be amazing, I can't remember a Venom figure that has ever been able to do those McFarlane poses. And I nearly passed, thinking I couldn't stand the Revoltech joints but nope, here I am singing praises. Weird month. I need to track down that Ultron at some point, I've heard it's better than the Figuarts.

I completely forgot about the Venom. I'm excited about Spidey but Venom should be even more awesome. We've never had one that could get crazy posed like a McFarlane cover, should be awesome.
I just purchased the Revoltech Artoo. I am thoroughly impressed. he's definitely a tad bit taller than the perfect scale bandai, but his paint apps are stunning. and he's not too stylized for the star wars line.

Fantastic review!!! I have such a love hate relationship with Revoltech. There is a steep learning curve and there style don't really work with every figure they release but when they nail it they nail it. The one thing that do pretty consistently is paint and attention to detail. I have and love this figure and I too have Spider-Man on preorder. And as I've said there are better figure companies but for people that love to do dynamic poses and take pictures of their figures Revoltech is the way to go.
Completely feel the same way. I buy any and all Star Wars but I just couldn't get into the Revo Star Wars line. Stylized and jointy. But this Deadpool completely works for me, and I have a feeling that Spidey will be the same.
Revoltech was the first line that got me into figures again. My friends liked statues, but I ran to the joints. Honestly, they hold a pose and hold up better than anything else in the scale, but definitely not for everyone. There's a bit of a learning curve, especially with the modern figures, but super rewarding and tons of fun.
Yeah, once I started hitting poses I just kept going for hours, it was fun as hell. I even went in with the thought that I was going to hate it but nope, they converted me. At least for these Marvel characters that deserve a ton of articulation and are known for crazy poses.
+The Fwoosh I've got Ultron, first time fooling with that double joint shoulder articulation but quickly learned to love it.

+The Fwoosh he looks great and the revoltech joints look much better on mechanical characters but he's admittably short. Not even 7 inches, he's about a head taller than Winter solider Capt. But for me he's a joy to pose, feels sturdy, and has some great sculpting. Though he's not vacuuchrome.
+The Fwoosh actually he's about the same height as Legends movie Thor.

No problem! I call them as I see them, or at least I try to, haha. Sometimes I can get a little blinded by the character or property but once something rubs me wrong, I'm rubbed.

Awesome. Good to hear that you liked it. I have this in my POL right now. I like Revoltech. Sure they're finicky, but they are quite awesome in their own right. I picked up the first two reissues of their Nick Turtles and love those as well.
I thought long and hard about getting the Revo TMNT but ultimately passed. I'm more of an 80's toon guy so it worked out with the SHF coming out later.
Understand that, being an 80's kid I'm more connected to the classic toon, too, but I love the Nick ones for aesthetics alone. Gorgeous stuff. Also, I got SHF Raph at NYCC, it's incredible. Can't wait to get the rest!
Ultrazilla Toys My Raph and Mikey were ordered on the same order so when Mikey got shifted to November I got screwed. They're holding Raph until Mikey comes in. Which is okay I guess, I'm just impatient, haha.
I hear ya. I could've gotten the first two already from BBTS, but have been waiting for Amazon to get their stock so I can use my points. This year the companies have really ramped it up with the figures, and we're all feeling it! So wherever I can save I will. Learning to be patient, that's harder for sure!
I love the figure, just not use to the joints as well with how careful you have to be with some joints- every time I try to pose it something pops out and it's a bit of a headache but the results are worth it. Only thing that sucks is one of the fake sheaths got stuck inside and the plug broke inside it so I had to glue it and if I pose him with two swords, having the sheaths clipped on won't make sense unless he has 3 swords. But yeah I'm happy with this. Can't wait for Spidey.
Yeah, I don't see why they made the fake sword hilts where they would only plug in one way, like it matters which way is showing. But yeah, same here, I had to get over my frustration and slow down, take my time before being able to appreciate the joints. It's not the look of the separate pieces that need to be focused on, it's the final overall pose. That's awesome for this line. Spidey should be even more amazing!

I see him on my shelf and want to change a pose for a pic idea, the minute I do I realize 'crap, I don't have time for this now- I forgot..." and ya I was trying to adjust the ball peg in the stomach because of the curve and ended up bending on the hilts without even knowing it- should have unplugged it :-\ but yeah I think they could done the sheaths/hilts a different way.
i was hoping you were going to mix the eye sets to get that signature deadpool expression (one eyed squinting, one eyed wide open) but ah well, still a good review. I had given up on revoltech in the past (out of frustration) but that upcoming spidey was too hard to resist preordering and I'm sure venom will be awesome too. so yeah, welcome me back revoltech..

the "joint thing" reminds me the hulk AOU from bandai , once you get used to it ,you get amazing poses for photography .^^

The joints in Revoltech take some getting used to but it's definitely some of the best articulated figures for poses you can't get with others

Yeah, when you look to hard at the actual mechanics it can get ugly. But you gotta have a little ugly to get poses like these.

I'm kind of nervous about Spidey since he doesn't have a lot of gear to hide joints like Deadpool, and has way more colors to the costume than Venom for the joints to blend into. But I'm still getting it, hopefully it's as awesome as the Deadpool.

Great review, but those joints are horrendous to me. Amazing how I have zero interest in this, but the upcoming Venom is mouth-watering.
I have always thought that same thing, along with the awkwardness of actually posing Revoltech figures, but in-hand it's just a joy. But I think with Venom it help that the whole thing is the same color, the joints aren't as obvious because they blend in with the color of the rest of the figure.
The revoltech joint's aren't the most pretty ones but make the figure so much posable that makes you think in some way that you can forgive them

I posted my review a day later cause of all the pics and posing I was doing with it. ended up falling asleep before finishing up with editing my vid lol. glad revoltech decided to make some more marvel characters. Excited for spiderman and venom next and I'm really curious to see how venom turns out
DareDevil 19 Damn, I forgot all about Venom! Earlier I was thinking of other characters that need to be in this line, characters known for crazy poses, and Venom came to mind, totally slipped that they already announced him. And the list came out short. Daredevil, Nightcrawler, I guess they could do variations of Spidey. Maybe Wolverine. I can't help but want a Bullseye and Taskmaster though, let's get a whole DP crew going.
The Fwoosh ahhh man would love a dd and night crawler in this line how awesome would that be they're both perfect for this type of figure and a wolverine would be great too. I feel like we need some more X-men characters from import companies. Not enough xmen figures going around these days. I think hasbro is really the only ones making them in 6" scale. So excited about venom and Spiderman. I heard they were gonna make a black suit spiderman too so that'd be cool. That was always one of my favorite spiderman costumes. Curious to see who else they'll announce after venom

TheJAPSChannel Oh good idea the figma it is but I'm still getting Revoltech Spider man because Revoltech are toys you wanna play with a lot to know how to use each character you have better. And Spider-Man is a type of figure I keep out for hands on experience quite often. But thanks for the heads up on DPfigma

For characters like this, Revoltech works out. I haven't really seen anything else Revoltech that catches my eye, and I don't really like their Star Wars figures because they are kind of cartoony and stylized where I'm looking for realistic. But everyone has their own preferences. If you're looking for figures that can hit crazy poses, get some Revoltech.
you did pull off some nice poses with this guy at the end. Revoltech joint system isnt that bad ocne you get used to it. It takes alot of twisting at first. Anyway, thing that I dislike the most is not the articulation system, but rather the rubbery plastic the figure is made out of in order to facilitate those joints and prevent them from falling out. That material prevents from achieving super sharp details. IT also affects the paintjob in few places as its also not as crisp as on harder plastic, almost like watered down. Add on top of that abundance of hollow elements that only act as a cover for the joint, and youve got something i dont like in figures. Perhaps I dont trust rubbery material ever since a rubber puppet of master yoda I owned as a kid started falling apart after a few years due to deterioration of the material. Wonder if revoltech fgured ccan possible suffer from the same fate with time
These aren't as rubbery as I've seen from other figures in the past, there is still a stiffness to it. But now you have me a little concerned. I don't need any melting plastic on the shelf. But yeah, it does take quite a bit of getting used to but once you get it, it's on.
haha, welcome to the land of Paranoia xD But seriously, there is nothing to worry about probably. It's just my very bad experience with a rubber puppet, that as far as I remember wasnt even all that expensive in the first place. Still took it over a decade to fall apart. Ha, thats funny you know? Because I have some really bad experience with certain stuff. Like Legos. Had a rather big SW minifig collection back in the day where there werent too many sets from this franchise (I had ~33 which at the time could have been as much as half of the total amount of available figures).. Heck, I even had a Boba Fett from Cloud City (one of the biggest SW themed sets back then). It was rare because it had printings on the legs and arms (usually they would be blank grey). And you know what happened to him? The torso cracked all the way to the armpit. Few cracks appeared on the arms as well. And I didnt even play with them. They were standing proudly on the shelf. I also had first wave of the miniature vehicles and same thing happened to certain parts of those. And yet when I ask, around, nobody else had the same experience. Sometimes makes me wonder if it was due to some chemicals I used for cleaning the shelves maybe (ocassionay would use the same rug to wipe the stuff), athough it seems somewhat unlikely. Its more as if the parts were fitted together too tight and thats why it happened. Anyway, as for this deadpool, there is probably nothing to worry about. There are plenty of older revo figures and they are ok. You just need to watch out for the paint, especially glossy one. I've had revoltech Kerberos, purchased second-hand, and his backpack for some reason started to be all stiky on one side. I've actually noticed similar issues on painted figures made out of softer plastic. It's easy to screw up the surface.
Actually there are some good star wars comics. They're pretty cool sometimes.

Id posed mine for a while and I went to change its pose and when I picked it up its arm joint broke and i love revoltech, but they break really easily. Do you know if they send replacement joints?

Any thoughts on the recent news that Tamashii Nations is changing up their joint system to a more seemless one. hiding joints and using layering and different materials like soft plastic and rubber. they say moving forward the SH figuarts line will be using this new system. It definitely has me intrigued, but i hope the range of articulation doesnt take too much of a hit just to hide joints better......
I don't know if they will incorporate into existing lines just yet. Common sense says they should give that a go with a release of blanks or a smaller property, something cool but will pique people's curiosity for the new system. If it fails, nothing lost within the lines that already sell well. If it does work and is amazing then slowly integrate. Don't guinea pig a fan favorite line, Bandai! As for the system itself, if it works and is nice, I'm down for trying anything. Conspiracy theory Robo wonders if the recent QC issues are to force a decrease in sales in order to throw a new system in place "for the good of the line." But then I look at my toys and I'm good, haha.
The Fwoosh yeah, all they said was "the next lineup of figures will be using the system". They didn't specify what line, or if it was a just a certain line, or all. Guess we'll just have to wait and see

You probably get a lot more plastic for your buck with the NECA Deadpool but you're going to get a lot more poses out of this Revoltech one. I love this one, really I do, but I really want the NECA one too. Gah, decisions!

I picked up the X-Force version. Even though I have all the Legends versions of DP, the Mezco, and Figma, there's something about this guy. I love the look and feel of the figure, and you can get him in so many fun poses. I also like the X-Force colors a lot more than I thought I would, and I'm happy I went with that version.
I probably need to pick that one up at some point, it does look pretty nice.

Both! It depends on if you want the Venom. You get Venom, you have to get Spidey. But if no Venom, get the Deadpool.
I want all three. The Spidey I can do without. I might wait to see how the mezco one turns out, and by then the price for the revoltech would surly go down. But hot damn that venom. He's probably the first revoltech figure that you cant see the joints that easily. And it looks amazing.
Yeah, the all black shiny body helps hide all the joints better, along with all of the extra bulk. Just amazing looking. And the Mezco Spidey looks great but I doubt it's going to be able to pose like the Revoltech. Which is okay, it's not always about the posing, but if you're getting the Venom and Deadpool, Spidey fits right in.
I mostly like how mezco decided to go with the original suit for Spider-Man. Although there isn't anything wrong with revoltechs, I just like the look of mezco's better. Ill probably change my mind when I get the Deadpool and will want the spider man. Honestly there's just too many great figures that are coming out for me to keep up with anyway.

I think the figma will be an all-round great Deadpool, where the Revo looks amazing in action poses but not so much in neutral. I'm going to say figma.

I know this is my third comment but it was either the Deadpool guy broke Adam broke on the same day I got Christmas you seem to got it it brokeBecause we open our gifts at midnight and the next morning I went with my mom I went in a couple hours at midnight and that day let me know by like nine the arm broke The next day the stand broke
