I have to say, I am extremely grateful for these guides. That's because going through the moves list is not just extremely time consuming but you are not going to get much information, neither will you get much of idea what most of these moves even do. Like, the standard A A A or B B B or any combo like that are all unsafe even if you land the first two hits because the third is blockable or even reactable. And you have zero indication when these combos are actually usable in their fullest. Also, every other character guide out there is just a list of combos and half of them are just the standard ones from the moves list. That's not very helpful at all. That's why you in-depth guide is so valuable, it gives exactly the info you need to know if you want to get good at the characters or even the game itself. I main Taki and you gotta remember that she can cancel the bomb into an A attack without SC and it’s also one of the best ways to enter her stance along with B, B, , K+
Theres also an unblockable from possession if you have them blocking alot though as always unblockables are slow even her more ranged one seal of the fire dragon.
5:14 3B can lead to air throw anytime - you say she's only able to AAK, unless it's counter hit. that's not the case: 3B > B+K (jump/flip) > A+G (throw)

2 very important things you left out, rolling with 6B+K, if you 6(B+K) you go right into the kick. The most important thing, when you side step and A:6 you lethal hit, which can be followed by B+K BBB for good damage off an i10 move. Or B+K BK(B) for decent damage/ring out
B+K, K is also a good way for getting in. It's really fast which kind of makes up for being vulnerable to verticals. The 8/2 B+K,K has a follow up with A, which makes up for the slightly lame kick. 2 A+B often comes as a surprise. 6K hits a lying opponent and can be followed up with K - decent combo extender. The air throw can also be done, if 3B hits normal. You just have to hit B+K immediately. Great guide. Thanks.
PO bA is very fast high too and leaves you neutral frame-wise on hit iirc. 2bA4 and a+bA4 are really fast highs into PO stance, -2 on block and pretty plus on hit like +6 i believe. love your guides man.
PO throws are both teched the same way, no mixup there. Side roll A actually combos into A and some other buttons (I forget, sorry), so it can go into PO mixups. You can do 3B into B+K and then try to hitconfirm your follow-ups, A+G on normal hit, KA on counter hit, A on block. It's risky though
So i just started playing this game im a tekken player at heart and i started using the hell out of this character but i can tell she doesn’t have a million options like everyone else
@@Roggitussin8008As Taki player I will say - stick with her. But know you'll need to work a lot if you wish to play her in any meaningful way. She require a certain gameplay to be effective. Wonky hitboxes are also an issue, most of her horizontal attacks are high, she has a break attack that doesn't break Reversal Edge, etc. However, she is such a nice character ❤

Awesome video. I will definitely be watching again and again. Maybe it's the noob in me, but I utilize K K and follow ups A LOT with Taki, it's my go to. K K K is three fast high attacks without a lot of downtime before you can attack. K K 2K makes the third attack low, and puts you in crouch to do any of the follow up moves from there. K K 4 puts you in possession stance where you can do all the fancy stuff you want from there. Like I said, it's probably not high level, but I love using all three in a fight to switch it up and keep my opponent guessing.
I'd also like to mention in crouch. Rising B B is a staple for me. It's a very quick mid low. The second hit stuns. I almost always hit with it and should really find a way to better combo off of it. I'm not good enough to find those, but it has to be there.
Taki is my fav. Playing her is cool. Figure out her ninja canon and grab in air combo. I like the barrier drop grab on Astraroth. "Hercules, Hercules!!!"
Taki's neutral B during her stance will cause her to become "off balance" basically stunned if you miss it so be careful when using that move raw. A single sidestep could ruin your whole game.
@TrueUnderDawgGaming the best alternative option for 3B juggle is AAA rather than AAK because the k follow up misses on multiple characters due to having different sizes and it's more inconsistent with air control . nice beginner guide overall.
A.A.A does do more damage, but I don't think the opponent can air control A.A.K. It's much faster than A.A.A and is even listed in-game as a bread and butter combo.
@@williambochat2366 negative , i have tested it multiple times on all characters . it can whiff depending on how far you launch the opponent ( depending on which active frame the launcher hits ) . it is not consistent at all . personally i would say make your own combos , test out stuff on your own .
I would highly advice against using AAA a lot, you are -on block while still safe you don't want to give up your "turn" right infront of the enemy since the move has very little pushback on block. Its also very easy to see this move and i just find that it hinders my flow as Taki. AAK is a much better option, you will still be - on block but not nearly as much as AAA. If they start ducking AAK you can mix in some AAB All her grabs from her stance can be broken by the same input, so simply blocking while mashing A will option select the grab break while blocking (meaning that if she does not grab you will just block like normal but if she goes for a grab you will still break it). If you do this you only have to worry about 2 things, her unblockable and her just eating away at your guard to get a guard break. During some parts of her unblockable Taki is high crushing so don't try to counter her unblockable with AA or other high attacks. 4BA2 is in most situations the best way to enter her stance from neutral, if the second attack counterhits you can combo for some big damage after going into her stance. its also the safest way to enter your stance on block. If they block your 4BA2 your A will counterhit their AA and anything slower. and if you use 2K or 8K it will trade with their AA and they will take more damage then you, 2/8 K will also create some distance On her 6A+B she will rush forward even if you don't press forward, you can avoid her doing so by holding backwards while throwing the projective and she will enter her stance instead of rushing forward. During soul charge this will guard crush so it can be a great way to get in from a far distance, if they get guard crushed i like to run in and use her 6BAA from her stance. If you find it hard to use directional + A,B or K asap after entering her stance i would recommend holding the direction while she is entering the stance and CALMLY mash A, B or K Taki also have a unique wakeup that you didn't cover, if you press B+K while down Taki will roll backwards and jump,

you forgot to mention chip damage on all meki-maru strikes (the blade on her hip with the purple trails). Also a great move is a+bA its a very fast strike, puts you into possession stance if you follow up with 4, it does chip damage on block, and its a fake out from your guard break attack. you can also do the fake out early or slightly later making it even harder for the opponent to GI.
I know I am late I did get this game recently Do you recommend for new players to use the directional pad or the analog stick for combos and movement? I am on PS4 not sure what you're using, but it probably doesn't matter

Good job UnderDawg I now know how to use sexy ninja though it does kind of look like Soul charge gives characters like I think a second combo string that wasn't from their original string. Taki is really alike Natsu of Soul Calibur 5- Ninja style always the best! Really like them in any beat em up game- besides the brute wrestling characters xD
Excuse me sir, while I agree her up/down BK+K is bland on it's own, you forgot neutral+A afterward leads to a diving attack which cripples/floors on impact, which is a fantastic momemt for ninja bomb -sips tea-
I do NOT recommend going into PO from BB, 8 KK, and 66A they are just too slow and you will get hit. a+bA4, 6K A4, and B+K K4 are better moves to get into PO. I’m seeing so many 4B A4 and I know it’s one of Taki’s best moves with the OK chip dmg but spam that too much and you’ll see people ducking the 2nd hit from that BRIGHT purple blade. I also noticed so many Taki players spamming PO-A nowadays. It’s good against characters with short range if you attack from a good distance (The tip of Mekki maru) but characters like Tira, Raphael (and more having longer and faster A’s), and freaking Nightmare’s Dire Vengeance can beat it. I do NOT recommend spamming that shit against pro players. Sometimes gotta rely on 2/8K which is faster if you know your opponent tries to attack with a 2A after 4B A4 and 2/8 B to catch people crouching or using high attacks to start lethal. Pressing B during PO is great because Taki is plus when they block and it does 10 chip dmg but hella bad if they side step it. Use it on opponents wake up. If B DOES hit then follow up with crouching 2A+B and/or 6KK if they don’t want to get up. A+B is also good but will most likely be blocked. If they Ukemi forward/back will receive 3KK into B+K etc. and Ukemi left or right will get a 2A which will leave you abit on the plus side with your rising attacks. I love Taki😍.. but she is at the bottom of the tier list. She needs more lows. Going to need to grapple your opponents a bunch of times.

I wonder what the purpose on Takis strings that end in crouch position are for. They usually get blocked and don't give me priority to follow up. I'll either get hit first or I'll trade blows

I have always liked fighting games but I have no idea if I should get soul caliber, I was wondering if it was worth it. ( also what is the song you play during the video, not the intro.)
I really don't play the single player stuff so can't really comment on that, but the gameplay and the online is soild. I love fighting games, the last three I got really into were Injustice 2, DBZ, and Tekken 7. The honest truth, I have never had more fun playing a fighting game. Soul Calibur 6 just has so many hype moments in a fight.
The honest truth from a SC fanboy that's been obsessing over the series from the beginning; if you like incredibly tight links in combos that reward you for hours spent in training mode, or long flashy combos in general, SC isn't the game for you (though the new Soul Charge will do this a bit). If you like strategy and mindgames, there's no better fighting game.
@@TheFlimsyman the mind games in SC is the main reason I love this game so much, there is no better feeling then completely conditoning your opponent, countering everything they do, and watching there entire gameplan fall apart lol
They represent directions. 7 8 9 4 5 6 1 2 3 8 being up, 2 being down, 4 being back, and 6 being forward. 5 is neutral while the other numbers are diagonal, this is oriented to the player 1 side. I could go further into what it means when you see brackets (example being [B]) if you care lol
@@MangoChocobo Alright. Speaking of brackets, if you see a combo have something like 66[B], that means you run forward and hold down B, in the game, it's B but dark instead of white. Another one you may find is tildas. For example, if you see 6B~A, that means you press B and then IMMEDIATELY go to A. You'll find these moves with Seong Mina (3B~K), Nightmare (side stance B~A) and others. This one isn't as confusing, but I've seen people ask about it, so if you see someone write 33_99A or something similar, they're just saying you could dash in the direction of 3 or 9. If you see a notation with weird letters, then it could be a specific stance. A good example is if you go to a Taki combo video, and you see POS A, it's saying press A in Possession stance. If your character has a lot of stances, you _may_ have to remember the shorthand notation for them. Another one I see somewhat often is something like B:B. That means you hit B, but you have to just frame the next B. Talim, for example, has her side step twirl stance (I don't play Talim lol) B:B just frame that launches and is electric when just framed. If I missed something that you see, feel free to ask.
Sure thing! The numbers are simply directions. They are the same as the number pad on a keyboard. I will post an example below to explain. 789 456 123 So as an example, 3 would be down+foward. While 4 would be back. 5 is considered neutral (no movement). Does that help?
they removed all good work made in soul 4! and even some natsu moves, I WAS happy with natsu special combo and didn't know! only a+b combos in soul charge, missing so much ab4a+b combo and this game need soo much PO 2k from soul 3! don't have nothing to hit low after PO is crazy!
PO A is safe on block, PO 4A leaves you more in a nuetral position on block due to the startup of PO so a follow-up PO A can be beat out by certain fast moves but yeah you don't need CH to combo off of PO B+K
I'm honestly not a fan of her , I've always found her to be very cheap in all the games , and her SC6 variant, might be be the one I hate the most, although as much as I hate her , I do love the way her combo's look

You can also use her ground pound into critical edge for a guaranteed crit edge as you'll find most people will block you if you just throw it out

One reason the opponent may want to duck when you roll could be to go under roll K. You specifically mentioned it being a high early in the tutorial.

I have always liked fighting games but I have no idea if I should get soul caliber, I was wondering if it was worth it. ( also what is the song you play during the video, not the intro.)
I really don't play the single player stuff so can't really comment on that, but the gameplay and the online is soild. I love fighting games, the last three I got really into were Injustice 2, DBZ, and Tekken 7. The honest truth, I have never had more fun playing a fighting game. Soul Calibur 6 just has so many hype moments in a fight.

The honest truth from a SC fanboy that's been obsessing over the series from the beginning; if you like incredibly tight links in combos that reward you for hours spent in training mode, or long flashy combos in general, SC isn't the game for you (though the new Soul Charge will do this a bit). If you like strategy and mindgames, there's no better fighting game.
@@TheFlimsyman the mind games in SC is the main reason I love this game so much, there is no better feeling then completely conditoning your opponent, countering everything they do, and watching there entire gameplan fall apart lol

I'm new to this but whats this 6-6 numbers mean and other as such?
They represent directions.
7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3
8 being up, 2 being down, 4 being back, and 6 being forward. 5 is neutral while the other numbers are diagonal, this is oriented to the player 1 side.
I could go further into what it means when you see brackets (example being [B]) if you care lol

Alright. Speaking of brackets, if you see a combo have something like 66[B], that means you run forward and hold down B, in the game, it's B but dark instead of white.
Another one you may find is tildas. For example, if you see 6B~A, that means you press B and then IMMEDIATELY go to A. You'll find these moves with Seong Mina (3B~K), Nightmare (side stance B~A) and others.
This one isn't as confusing, but I've seen people ask about it, so if you see someone write 33_99A or something similar, they're just saying you could dash in the direction of 3 or 9.
If you see a notation with weird letters, then it could be a specific stance. A good example is if you go to a Taki combo video, and you see POS A, it's saying press A in Possession stance. If your character has a lot of stances, you _may_ have to remember the shorthand notation for them.
Another one I see somewhat often is something like B:B. That means you hit B, but you have to just frame the next B. Talim, for example, has her side step twirl stance (I don't play Talim lol) B:B just frame that launches and is electric when just framed.

Sure thing! The numbers are simply directions. They are the same as the number pad on a keyboard. I will post an example below to explain.

So as an example, 3 would be down+foward. While 4 would be back. 5 is considered neutral (no movement). Does that help?

they removed all good work made in soul 4! and even some natsu moves, I WAS happy with natsu special combo and didn't know! only a+b combos in soul charge, missing so much ab4a+b combo and this game need soo much PO 2k from soul 3! don't have nothing to hit low after PO is crazy!

Stance A is unsafe on block, so recommending to "stance A spam" is the worst idea ever bro
stance B+K is a normal hit launcher too
PO A is safe on block, PO 4A leaves you more in a nuetral position on block due to the startup of PO so a follow-up PO A can be beat out by certain fast moves but yeah you don't need CH to combo off of PO B+K
It is definitely not unsafe on block. If anything, it leaves you in a neutral position. I use it to catch people all the time.
The abkg system in this game is the only thing i dont like about it

I'm honestly not a fan of her , I've always found her to be very cheap in all the games , and her SC6 variant, might be be the one I hate the most, although as much as I hate her , I do love the way her combo's look
