You forgot to mention Tira's passive of infinite SoulCharge in gloomy after stance switching 5 times during a set. That's when she's glowing in gloomy stance.

One thing I like in Jolly you didn't mention is the whole AA mixup. You can do AA for two quick horizontal, but you have a mid followup with a third A. But you can also do A > hold A, for a single slash into a, high crush rolling attack. So everytime you do A on someone, they have to be aware you could : -stop there into a throw or something else - do another A and stop - do another A and the mid follow - stop at the first A and do the rolling attack
For the Soulcalibur 5 Tira mains! He said “Taunt after KO” They took out the option to stance switch with taunt/self damage after a round! Not sure why. Another thing to mention the line on your Life bar (I believe it’s 30%) your guaranteed a stance switch no matter what. Then again at 5%. So keep that in mind.
Devii Doo Yes you can stance change with taunts and self damaging moves during a fight, if you read the comment you’d see I say “After a round” meaning the time during a fight after you beat the opponent and they’re on the ground (or if you lose and you’re on the floor) preparing for the next round. During that time you or the enemy Tira cannot stance switch.
in jolly if you run for a bit and hit kick you will do a slide this can make you gloomy it's the consansit but it's one of the few moves to get to gloomy
Hey Underdawg, you already said some of these things in your video but here goes: soul charge qcf+K while Jolly has a high mood change probability, also Reversal Edge K while jolly is guaranteed gloomy stance, hitting critical edge while jolly changes you to gloomy, also u get automatic mood change at 30% and 5% life, mood change probability of attacks is generally around 20% except for the high probability ones which is around 70% One move I use a lot that you didn't mention is 22(88)+A, catches side stepping amd walking, while jolly you can combo into 4+K, in gloomy it cancels into 3+AA, it also setups a throw mixup
I keep telling myself I should probably learn a new character soon, but Tira is just too much fun to play anything else. Btw, you forgot to mention her Gloomy Coda state, which basically gives her infinite Soul Charge buffs while in Gloomy stance if you personality switch enough times over the course of a match. I'm not certain the exact number required, but it is very strong if you manage to get it, and it gives you an extra incentive to keep switching personalities and not just stay in Gloomy. (It also gives her a big advantage in rooms with a lot of rounds per match, if you want to have some extra fun.)
this really helped me out in learning a basic amount of combos for Tira now whether i can pull them off or not thats up for debate but i am definitely better on the offensive now :)
super grateful for the guide, I'm definitely going to take a bunch of this info with me while Learning Tira, though I am surprised you didn't at least touch on Gloomy Coda. Also, though other people have mentioned that you no can no longer stance swap after kills, I do think its unwise to underestimate Taunt as a stance-swap option. Sure it's somewhat situational, but if an enemy ever gives you breathing room, you can use the taunt to bait them into attacking you, since the punishment for letting you taunt freely is often a Gloomy Stance swap, OR for those who actually know what Tira's special mechanic is, One more transform closer to getting Coda (Permanent SC in Gloomy Stance for the rest of the match).

also another universal thing you missed landing kick in reversal edge will change your stance i want to say 100% of the time. also you didn't talk about gloomy coda TLDR if you switch enough throughout the match that is every round { so the count does not reset after each round} gloomy gets an upgrade it gives her her soul charge moves and does more damage. and it has won games for me. it's a goal and it makes switching a lot worth it meaning you need to get good with both. not a bad guid but i just felt you missed a few things that are good to know. there is also a strange jump move. it and it's follow ups are the only thing in special moves on her list. but i hate it and i never see it. one of it's follow up can switch you but the move feels bad but it can switch you from jolly to gloomy so learn it if you feel you should
Pardon me for the probably obvious question but I literally only play Dead Or Alive which is a very different and possibly more complex fighter. What exactly is the point of high mid and low attacks in a game like this? Like why is there a differentiation between them? DOA has a system called "holding" where you can read your opponents combo animations and "hold" one of their attacks (if it's a high attack, you hold high, if it's a mid attack, you hold mid, etc.) to basically reverse the damage back to punish them. What's high mid and low for in a game like this without that kind of system though? I want to get into SoulCalibur but I can't remember what exactly the point of that stuff was.
I know it's not practical but I'm a talim main and I have learned many combos and I am still learning new things. If you want to do a talim guide I'd gladly let you use some of my gameplay

William Lipayon it got swaped to 66 A+B and behaves the same way (high chance for stance switch) Also the hoola hoop move (brave edge extended version) it’s 3 A A+B
Well now it’s holdable for the “666” or else you can just hit it quick for the “66” with a lower chance of persona change. So yeah, essentially the same. 🤷🏻♀️
It's pretty fun... The story modes are a bit of a bore for me but from what I've seen in high level tournament play a lot of characters seem to offer the ability to achieve good deal of creativity with fg mechanics. Custom characters are in ranked mode and the ranking system could have better match making imo. But other than that I really enjoy it.
Looks like the story mode is usually underwelming for people but I'm digging it a lot, the creation mode is great (and looks like there are more pieces for costumization to come). The fighting is reeally fluid and it feels really good too. I think the most important thing about the fight and characters is that, if you learn literally the basics, you can fight people and do fearly well. But if you want to actually master a character, you can too, but holy shit, they must be the most complex characters I ever saw in fighting games. Even the specials, they usually freeze time while you do animation, but there are characters that iniciate it differently, like taki that won't stop time but she phases through an attack, or talim that can do a special while moving, or yoshimitsu that has a guard breaker on his first attack, and so go on. I feel like these fights are more focused on learning your opponent than just learning controls, being more of a mind game. And I like that.
Its mainly ranked mode and you can really feel people getting better every rank you go up, you start at g5 nd move up to g4 to g3 until you hit g1 where you'll advance to f5 nd so on, every character u play gets their own rank which is great, you lose or gain more rank depending on the rank of the person you fought compared to you
How can I get tira tho? Cause I dint know what "DLC Character" means. Cause in soul calibur 5 u could get her in story mode and I really lived her. She kind of was my main back then.

A good breakdown of her move set. Good video. Too bad she’s actually pretty terrible in this game. Low damage, slower frames, bad combo set ups, not many mixups, etc. she was much better in other games. They’re supposed to be fixing her though. So there’s still hope for OG Tira mains who know her full potential. Still maiming Raphael though lol.

No they didn't. When she taunts sometimes she changes and sometimes she doesn't and theres some moves that can still do self damage

Hold (3) diagonal down toward a attack for a good low horizontal. 👍🙂
One important element about the universals kicks. 6K high crush, while 3K is a low crush, she has no hitbox at her hand.

Worth noting that her command grab she gets in gloomy soul charge is unbreakable.
on the command grab you also get heath back if it hits and you didn't talk about reversal edge, RE K is 100% stance change if it hits or is blocked
There's a combo with the jolly stance which does more damage after a launcher, It's 66k followed up by anything you fancy I think.
2 moves I enjoy a lot in jolly that I believe were missed are 1B, B4.
What about that pseudo soul charge that she gets after she switches into gloomy enough times
