    Jake wanna hear something interesting? First time i watched your videos, i was in school, had no drivers license, barely made enough money to get myself with some friends lunch during recess and barely facial hair... Now, pretty much 10 years later, i have a car, a motorcycle, on the verge of being my own house and yes, facial hair... How time flies eh? 😂

    I always love these builds, is ace seeing someone put a bike together properly.... sure I can throw a spanner around, but seeing someone in a good garage, with room to swing a cat and them also knowing what they are talking about, well it is just enjoyable to watch, and far less stressful than my attempts in my grotty badly lit garage with rubbish English weather! 😀

    When you heat something which has a hole, it's counterintuitive, but the hole gets smaller because it's expanding in all directions.

    • @TheGardenSnake
      @TheGardenSnake  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear what your saying but I've also seen it work. I've done it plenty of times without freezing the other part and only heating. It always makes it easier. Have you tired it?

    • @paulthreesixty
      @paulthreesixty ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheGardenSnake no, I think it probably isn't making much difference. The freezing might be doing enough on its own.

    • @J8zzy
      @J8zzy ปีที่แล้ว

      Hole gets bigger when you warm it's surround metal.
      All things and lines and holes go bigger like on the photo when you warm the metal.
      The hole and bearrings goes smaller if you make it colder.
      So you must warm the frame and hole while you freeze the bearrings to make it fit easily.
      That is basic physics.

    V2 of this bike is looking really good so far, love the frame color. Could the bolts get zinc coated or something similar that would protect from corrosion but not add too much material that they wouldn't thread properly?

    • @TheGardenSnake

    • @TheGardenSnake
      @TheGardenSnake  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I used that too on the threaded parts but didn’t show it cuz people will get annoying in the comments. They’re all locking nuts, properly torqued. They’re not going anywhere but people see you put that on and go silly.

  • @randomOAS7
    @randomOAS7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Possibly a dumb question, and maybe you answered it before, but why didn't you also paint the bottom end?

    • @TheGardenSnake
      @TheGardenSnake  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Two reasons. It’s a pain without it taken apart. All those bolts just painted over isn’t my favorite way to do things. Secondly, there’s case covers going over the bottom end that are satin black. All together it looks black. Trust me, it’s actually done already.

  • @duncandehulst2016

    Did you order new ss bolts?

    • @TheGardenSnake
      @TheGardenSnake  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that would probably be $50+ bolts of you could even find them. Most likely would have to custom order so the cost would double/triple. Greasing the old ones like this will be fine for this application.

    Sorry Jake, I've joined your Patreon like three months ago, unfortunately never really had the time to watch more than like 5 videos in total in the first month but Patreon seems to charge me every month even if I don't watch the new videos you upload.
    Is that how your Patreon works? I don't get it, I'd like to support you and your content but atm I'm confused, when I joined I thought I had to pay if I actually watch one or more videos....sorry

    • @TheGardenSnake
      @TheGardenSnake  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No that's not the way it works. When you join you get access to everything I've ever done on Patreon. Weather you watch zero or every video I've ever done on there you pay the same. Kinda like netflix or hulu, you pay a monthly rate. You can make it as low as $1 a month if you like by setting a cap. Sorry if that was unclear when you joined.
