The forced stretching kills the whole thing. I don't know why all these knockoff/emulation handhelds do this. It's not like it takes more processing power or coding to...not stretch the image.
@@RetroCore Maybe they've done some research and seen that the few people that hate it are outnumbered by people who just don't care and want a cheap little thing to play some old games on. I dunno. :/
Hey, just a quick one. I stumbled upon this video at your BOTP playlist, and I guess it was there accidentally, so I thought Id let you know! As for the device, well its not the best one you can get for sure, but compared to similiar priced units from before 2020 it doesnt look bad
Surely if it has Emuelec then the Emuelec menu could offer a screen format option if not then maybe a more up to date Emuelec version or custom version could be used via the Sd card.
Yes, it has good controls and screen. It is quite a likeable console really. I've sold mine now. I didn't like the reduced battery life which was probably half of similar but more expensive consoles.
your unit seem to have a pixel problem on the upper part of the screen, middle-left i would say. This is what i fear the most when i buy a TV, monitor or any other device with a screen: dead pixels
If I were to buy this, I'd remove the higher console games (PSP, N64, etc.) and make this a dedicated PS 1 and below handheld... Then again the aspect ratio 😂 May I ask what the arcade fighting game was? Looks interesting
Not a bad little bit of kit.

I know. If this had a 4:3 option it would have been ranked much higher. Why do they always leave things stretched?

Most likely but then again I doubt companies like this even care.
Thanks for the video, I was looking for a not so expensive console to gift to my niece. This looks like ot might be the one.

Oh, thanks for letting me know. I'll fix the play list settings.

Haven't seen Data Frog device for a whole year. That's just the brand, anyway.
If it can run up to PS1 games, $50 is a very good price, indeed.

The controls and screen are indeed good. No complaints about those. My biggest gripe is the lack of 4:3 mode.
I actually liked that weird Chinese Titanic NES game. 😄
I'll have to make some time to play it.

Can say I noticed anything. Could be just how it was filmed. I'll have to take look at the actual unit when I get home.
$60 now. I noticed that in their advertising blurb it says it has 4:3 scale. They lie!

Pretty decent handheld but could've been better.
Yeah, a 4:3 option would have been nice.
