    thanks for the review - does the light only work with detection or can it be turned on via the app just to light an area for a longer period of time?

    • @MyHomeFarm
      @MyHomeFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback. There is a manual on/off option in the camera options in the iOS app so that you can use the light as a “light” for as long as you wish.

    • @MyHomeFarm
      @MyHomeFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And you can also adjust the brightness.

    ive just fitted one of these,i'm struggling to work out how to get notifications when i am away from my home,you mention "push notifications" where do you enable that in the Netatmo app ?

    • @MyHomeFarm
      @MyHomeFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Start up the HomeKit app. Go to your camera’s settings - there’ll you’ll find notifications. Set them up as required. Hope that helps.

    • @KAZUYADOG
      @KAZUYADOG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MyHomeFarm The camera's notification menu just deals with the camera's events,i believe that my camera is the updated version of your "Presence" Netatmo dropped that word from the latest version.What i have found is that the camera supports/links to Dropbox and FTP can i get notifications if my camera footage is linked to either of those. ?

    • @MyHomeFarm
      @MyHomeFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How odd. I get notifications on all my devices (iPad, iPhone, Mac) via HomeKit and the Netatmo Security app.
      So you have no notifications option for your camera in HomeKit?
      There’s also a ton of settings you can access via the browser on the Netatmo website. Have you done that?
      I have mine “recording” via FTP to my Mac, but that doesn’t trigger notifications. This is how I did it if it’s of interest: myhomefarm.co.uk/netatmo-presence-outdoor-camera

      @@MyHomeFarm My camera is the later version Netatmo dropped the word presence,it is just called the Smart Outdoor Camera now and on the package no mention of email alerts.

    Why No Demo of the night Vision?

      A fair question. I’ll put together a video of night footage. It’s pretty good.

    Hi we live in Germany also rural close to a bigger town. We use the Eufy Cam and have two wireless cams running. Are you also on Apple HomeKit via AppleTV oder HomePod, just curios because it connects all your components to on place. I started with Eve Thermos and Door & Windows at home. Now I have a Ikea Tradfri implemented for the lightning and also Water leak sensors ... motion sensors and so on ...

    • @MyHomeFarm
      @MyHomeFarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comments and feedback. Are the Eufy Cams wired and do they require a monthly storage subscription?
      It's great to hear that you're using different brands and products and making them work for you. I've not looked at the Ikea range of products; are they iOS compatible?
      On the subject of our HomeKit setup, we have two Apple TVs that act as our hubs, and it's been quite successful. We don't have a HomePod. We have also added Eve Extend devices to hook up our Eve bluetooth devices to our WiFi: th-cam.com/video/mdJa8QIY7BY/w-d-xo.html

      My Home Farm All my products are HomeKit compatible. For the IKEA lights you need their Hub wich is connected to your network. When connected to HomeKit all the lights are available for the Apple Home app but also appear in the Eve app because Eve is also a „HomeKit“ window. Your Netatmo cam should also be there. The Eufy Cams are wireless and connected to a Homebase where the videos are stored. There is no subscription needed nor are they cloud based. They also work with HomeKit secure video. Since you’re using AppleTVs as base you also use the Apple Home app right? I also commented via your website on the Smart Plug ... maybe we could write via Email. Eve Extend is a must. We run one for upstairs. Our house is a patchwork. The older part from the 1800s and the newer part was build in 1986. The HomePod is cool for using Siri commands but AppleTV is also a great home hub.

      The Eufy cams sound very interesting. I'm going to look into them now as we need two more cameras.
      As per your comments, I prefer to use to the Eve app because it has the HomeKit 'window' and I think the app is more functional than Apple's Home app.
      We do use the Home app on the Apple TV, but it's not hugely useful at the moment, other than being able to see what the Netatmo camera is showing.
      Ah. The penny has dropped. I didn't connect your name to the Smart Plug comment on our blog. Thanks for your support in checking out our blog and TH-cam channel.
      Your property sounds interesting - how much other smart stuff do you have? Do you use any smart tech for your heating?

      My Home Farm The Eve App allows the same automations but it has access to more and deeper functions. Like our motion sensor wich is turning on the lights when going downstairs at night. In Home you can set the time the light sources and so on ... but its quite an disadvantage when it triggers the lights when you’re sitting longer downstairs and suddenly your lights dim or other turn on. In Eve you can say only turn on WHEN a certain light is off. We have an LED stripe wich is always on when were sitting together so that is our point for the automation. Turn on the light ONLY when the LED is OFF.

    What a great system. In Europe/ in my home we use a different system that is connected to a central location who in turns calls the police or fire department for you. And I notice now the Ring system is becoming popular here as well, blown over from your country.
    Its actually sad that we need things like this to be honest. Pffff what a world.

    My netatmo Camera burnt out after 3 years , no light or night vision . Emailed the company in France and they made me pay 55.00 to ship it to them and then gave me a discount on a new one. I wish I never called , I could have just bought something else . Another brand would have been cheaper and just as good . By the way this took Months to resolve !!!!

      I’m really sorry to hear that Jerry. Did they tell you what went wrong with the camera when you sent it back. Given the price, they should last much longer. Our cameras are approaching two years this summer, and I’m hoping we get well over five years of use from them.

    Don't buy this camera, save your money for something else.. I've owned one for a 5 years now and installed one for a neighbor- both have since died (fail to recognize a brand new SD card). The IR cut filter failed to move on mine after 2 years, support said they could help me then flaked out when I said if I shipped the camera back, I would have a hole in the side of my house... can I get an advance shipment of a camera? I suppose not. I lubed up the SD card contacts with dielectric grease; it comes out all green / blue; this must be trapping moisture on the SD card contacts of the camera. My Bosch POE cameras could take a bullet and keep working long after I am gone, the smart features of this camera are not worth the hassle & short lifespan. The live view performance of this camera is also poor (too delayed). I'd be giving my dog a treat for coming in and she would be on the screen running around outside, still. If the company stood behind the product, it might be worth it- as it stands now, pass!

    • @MyHomeFarm
      @MyHomeFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've had our cameras (three of them) for two years and so far they've performed really well. Interesting about the IR comments and we'll watch out for that. We've also had limited interaction with the Netatmo support team so can't comment on that.
      In terms of lag, the performance of our cameras is spot on and there is probably a 5 second differential between reality and what's seen on screen. I think the delay may be as a result of your WiFi network speeds. We have a Deco M9 Plus mesh network - all the cameras record to our Mac via FTP in real time, and we can "stream" the live view at the same time. At times it can be a but slow and bitty if there's a lot of network traffic, but I wonder if your network is overburdened and slowed down.
