Keep your head straigh, Jeff. It's the best tip I ever got from a pro driver. Don't tilt your head into the corner. The compound angles of your vision when your head is tilted throw off your depth perception and you'll miss the exit. On a sim rig it probably doesn't matter, but in a real car it's a game changer.
Very cool set up! I was just talking to my son about doing a sim build last weekend. I had forgotten about yours but definitely going to use it as a template.
My advice is set your screens on the wall os something, having them resting on the same platform as the wheel make them shake a lot when playing, and that's very unpleasant. Greant upgrade man congrats.
I'd also recommend a healthy dose of cable management too. In fact he has more than enough skills to build an enclosure for everything so he actually would step into/sit down in a racing car cockpit. Of course, that would take some spare time wouldn't it? 😛
Requesting feedback on how Mrs Jeff handles you using the Dyson Stickvac to cleanup after drilling? For comparison, I'm told to grab the ManVac from my ManCave everytime I engage in a project
Nice upgrades Jeff! I love my setup too! iRacing is so much fun and very realistic when it comes to the driving experience. Hopefully see you on track sometime!
love your setup m8 so happy i found your sim rig part 1-3 for inspiration before my own build so thank you. :) hope i have a tip for you you mention single monitor check out tobii eye tracker i personaly love it, many prefer vr headset or one curved screen. looking forward to future update best regards from Jan here in norway
You're playing Rudskogen Raceway at the end?😳 Where did you find that? That's my local track, and I've been looking but I can't find a track download anywhere!
Ya, pedal bases on most entry wheels are garbage. Nice setup, Jeff. "Home built by Jeff: DIY Motion Rig".....next? I'm fairly certain you have access to firetruck wiper motors to use as linear actuators 😂😂
The problem is, with adding more pixels requires pushing those pixels with a new graphics card. I hope you pick one up in America whilst you're there, as much cheaper than Australian prices.
I’m just here to feed the algorithm … Patreon for the win. I’d forgotten all about your original DYI sim racing setup! I think it was the introduction to your channel for me. You don5 hav3 to spend thousands to have a nice fun setup.
@@HomeBuiltByJeff For sure! I was lucky enough to find one from a friend for $20. He was just going to trash it! It’s heavy mild steel, but it works :)
Awesome setup. The triple screens are fun to use if they are big enough. My motion sim rig was originally made out of timber but it shook itself apart, made even worse with the direct drive setup.

I just upgraded my own setup with a CSL DD! It’s awesome :)
Definitely improved my real life driving by a crazy amount.
Work hard, play hard! That is a fantastic upgrade, I will have to check them out!

Direct drive is a game changer, the price for a rig has got so much more affordable
But the SPACE ! Who has the space 🤣

The advantages of no kids , eh....;-) ( same here ) . I race on PS5 with the PSVR headset, now *that* was a gamechager for me.

Any plans on getting a curved widescreen monitor?

Jeff you should forget about a new monitor and go with a VR headset. They're next level immersion. Cheers!
Forget the VR headset, motion sickness and generally poor quality of image. For the money you're better off with a large, curved ultrawide

Yeah……but where’s the cup holder?……

Honestly, that sim setup video might’ve been my introduction to the channel too! And the cool projects made me stick around 😂
Thanks guys. Definitely don't have to spend thousands for a good rig. This one has been flawless.

Awesome upgrade's 👍🏽👍🏽
Remember red light cameras😁
must be on the same wavelength, I literally just upgraded my setup yesterday.
Do you still have the blueprint available anywhere that used to be on etsy from your last build video?
My Etsy account should be back up an running in a couple of days.

Fun, hope your US trip is EPIC
