I watched a bunch of people over complicate this, and this is the best and simplest design that actually works! Good for you! I hear the sheep add 20HP and knock 30 seconds off each lap 🙂
Really well done. I made my son a rig for Christmas this year out of some AAA maple in a style similar to the Playseat F1. I really struggled to find something that wouldn't look just "thrown together" like most DIY's. Had I seen this prior, I probably would have gone in this direction. It's easy to say why not just go buy a rig instead. I've got one, an expensive one....but when your son asks to build one for him, you do as he asks.
I made a rig something like this about 15 years ago. It was completely enclosed, with the top canopy on hinges. It had the Monitor installed on a shelf above your knees and the top/canopy came down over you when you got in. You were completely enclosed. I put a "kicker" behind the seat. Worked out really well. My family called it "The Black box of Death"... Working on another. Enjoy!! Nice work!!
Right now I'm starting to build something similar. It is interesting that I finished a primitive drawing of the structure, and it is very similar to yours), but I have a small problem - dimensions, lengths, angles... Since I did not find any similar schemes on the Internet, I will have to build everything by eye. And I think your video will help me. Thanks for sharing it!
you’re welcome! i was looking for measurements as well but didn’t find anything useful neither. in the end it’s better to tailor make it, to size, the way you like it. trial and error.
Amazing Job, I really like the design. is there any chance to have a 2D or drawings for the wood parts to copy your work. that will be great man. Thanks
If you have PC speakers with a sub, put the sub behind the chair for the engine vibrations. Best screen upgrade would be VR! Love what you've done there. Thinking bout doing something similar!
I thought NJ i would make the part for holding the steer adjustable. Probably would take some more effort, but is nice. That way different people can also enjoy it
Definitely gonna save this idea for myself, altho i dont have the bed. But between buying wood and buying something that just needs some cuts, i rather go for the simplistic version. However i also have the shifter and a set of HOTAS (throtle and joystick set, for space/flight sims), and still trying to figure out a way to make some "attachments" that can be moveable to place the HOTAS, and also a moveable shelf to go in front on my lap for keyboard and mouse for other games or just browsing stuff. All this because i only have 1 pc, meaning that if i go forward with a "simpit", i have to make it in a way to fully replace my desk.
Hello friend, I really liked this cockpit. If it's not going to disturb you, can you make a video with his measurements? I really want to make one like this.👍
The fact that limited budget differs so much from country to country kind of makes me sad. Really well done project though, it looks excellent. For me to be able to make something like this, I might need a budget super budget video 😅 Keep up the great work!
@@madebydekker7038 makes sense, i own a fanatec csw 2.5 and clubsport v3 pedals…. @@tokyxrs4567 the Fanatec CSW 2.5 has a torque up to 8Nm which is (depending on where you live on earth, but general speaking divided by 9.81. I will use 10 for convenience) 0,8 kg / meter. He used MDF, but if you would use solid wood or multiplex with same thickness your good to go.
thanks! sorry, no plans. i just made it up as i went along, trial and error. still have do some fine tuning to the seat. i think that is that is the only way to get it perfectly confortable. tailored fit!
A better way to mount the pedals would be to remove the from the plastic case and inverted mount them (so they hinge above the pedal instead of below - more like a real car). Much better feel that way and you can adjust the space between them.
Mogguh!! Super idee en een super leuke simrig! Ik wil als basis voorbeeld gebruiken. Heb je toevallig nog meer foto's of maten etc? Nogmaals, mooi idee en voor mij een goeie basis om te beginnen!
Legend. The most important part is that your kids are learning that they can do anything they put their minds to. Well done.
thanks!!
Hope they don't decide to make a bed out of a raceseat on a rainy saturday 😂
Great job!

A good father right there! Gotta get the stickers as he wants too!
My next door neighbours have that bed, they showed me it a few weeks ago - before they went off on their Cruise….I wonder if they will miss the bed?😅
2:45 you're a genius. trying to build a flight sim but picking up all these little things prior to starting is surely gonna help a total noob :)
It enchants me!! I want to make one, I've been thinking about it for a while. I really like the result

thanks, i considered that idea for the steering wheel but decided to keep it simple to start with

Who needs Red Bull Racing when you have Red Sheep Racing.
FANTASTIC GREAT JOB Amazing home made simrig bro
So glad he added sheeps. Would have done same :D
Sad I dont have the tools so I went with a Rig from a store. Wanted to build sth similiar
Amazing Work. Congrats 🤗🤗
Thank you! Cheers!
"RedBull? Nah, we got ScarletSheep"

Glad you like it!
Grate toy for kids. Good job!

thanks mate! and sorry, no drawings made, only the rough dimensions shown in the video
I love that 😊
Bro built a whole car sim and 3k views!, so underrated
Thats great mate something like that would be like $400-500 Australian dollars here if you bought retail great Job!
I guess all in all it cost me between 450 and 500 euros. Upgrades not included, which are coming soon
Great job mate 😎
Straight to the point. i will build one for my self. al tho i have a direct drive FFB 15Nm wheel i will probably need a stronger wheel attachment.
Genial trabajo, muy bueno
Will work as a flight sim cockpit too.
Hhhhmmm, good idea, I’ll keep that one in mind!

true but that is more cost and more risk of failure. with the pedals being adjustable, it goes a long way
Now creating a f1 steering wheel mod for g29.
Btw I like the adjustable pedals.
Genius❤❤❤
This is amazing, cheers

Hint: it does not have to be ALL one material, wood or metal profiles. For movable support use T-slot profiles.

good job man

Congrats for great work. I wondering if you have a project of this cockpit. Would you mind share it?

Hi @jasonlanglois, you can share you project units? this is amazing copkit, congrats the best job!
Hey! Its really well done, and i wanna do it myself. any tips to start?
thanks!!!! tips…. maybe an obsolete piece of furniture? 😂 no, the video shows it, just start and adjust as you progress, worked for me!!!
Great job
Hi mate great one any note with the measurements can you send it 😂🎉
thanks mate!!! sorry, don’t have measurements other than shown in the video. made it up as I progressed, tailor fit, made to size…
amazing !!
just add a vr headset and you will be in the car after that !
Now my wife locked our bedroom...🤔

It's a race car bed.
don’t fall asleep in it too much though..
Awesome 👏🏽

in the making… ;)
Perfect!!
Bravo very good work only the steering wheel is little close to you but the idea of the rig it's cool bravo again
thanks!!!! for me it’s perfect but i guess it’s different for everyone.
Interesting project, i wonder how long it will hold up with a stronger wheel / how much it will wobble
for now it’s holding up great. but as the title says, it’s a sim on a budget, so basic and not too complex

Most race cars have floor mounted pedals.
weet je dat je de rem en koppeling kunt veranderen waardoor je meer beenruimte krijgt?
