That Kim Deal is special. It almost made my number one as well. Good list. Probably two or three I’ll check out in the new year. Have a fabulous holiday Arnaldo. ✌🏻❤️🔥
We have a bunch of the same. I love that Tindersticks made your list!! Wonderful album. I should have had John Grant on mine. It just didn’t resonate with me like his other amazing records. Going to see him again in March in a very small venue. Always wonderful. Have an amazing holiday
Like I said, the John Grant album didn’t grab me at first even though I’m a fan and have all his other solo stuff. Give it a few more spins, you may warm up to it. Happy Holidays to you as well. ✌🏻
Hi arnaldo thanks for putting this together.. when you said it’s her 5th album I knew it was Faye Webster.. love that record as you said lots of versatility.. I’ve not listened to that primal scream record .. I will do though .. I think elbows first 5 albums are the best. I have audio vertigo initially I was disappointed but through the year I’ve got used to it .. thanks again have a lovely Christmas and enjoy 2025 👍🎄
Great picks Arnaldo.. you know I would’ve put BrigitteCallsMeBaby #1 and TheCure #2…and all thanks to your recommendation. I also agree with Billie Eilish I’ll check out some of the others you’ve talked about.
@@cgarci19 Glad you liked the picks. BCMB was much higher on the list until October after which all those other albums came out… thanks for watching. ✌🏻
Very thoughtful, insightful list. I definitely have some titles I need to visit. I’ve been putting too many off. FJM is my #1, The Smile Cutouts right behind.

I didn’t know Paul Heaton was still making music. I like The Housemartins and Beautiful Soul. Kim Gordon is on my list to get. I’ve been listening to it the past week. Thanks for the sub! ✌🏻
Hi Arnaldo🎸👋🏻 Didn’t even realize Primal Scream had an album out. Thanks for the heads up, will give it a listen! Everytime I see that Lemontwigs I think “That could be a Sparks jacket pic”. Good album. Definitely a keeper. If Brian Wilson was 25 again in 2024 this would be his sound. Every review I see mentions The Smile albums. I gave a cursory listen awhile back to both but didn’t click. I guess I need to let the mood soak in and give the albums another go. Big fan of Father John (Honey Bear is the greatest album of the last 10 yrs imo) but lost touch connection with his last album. Ill have to give this new one a listen. I am usually a year behind as I whittle albums down from a gob I listen to throughout the year and live with them for a few months to see if 15-20 stick. Seems I always end up with 10-15 out of hundreds. For now I am keen on these in no particular order for now: English Teacher -This Could Be Texas Well made album and very good writing. Great production. Very panning album. Its a big horse to ride. Great debut- Recommended. The Cure-Songs For When I Broke My Leg, Lost My Dog Got The Flu And Oh A Lost World- What a depressing album! Love it. Truly is one of the better life assessment albums made. I prefer the live performance to the proper album. Yes I am a fan boy of this Cure album. Vampire Weekend- Only God Was Above Us Stellar effort from these guys. The instrumentation and combination of instruments really sets this album off. Very well recommended. Magdalena Bay: Imaginal Disk Again an album that is interesting sounding with the throwback to the Madchester sound. Juxstapositioning humor with a bit of forboding. Right up my alley. Just a groovy pop album. I like her voice. Very detailed yet kaleidoscop-ish. Mabe Fratti - Sentir Que No Sabes- Was not familiar with this Mexican based avant garde cello player/singer. This is no classical album though. Angular, a bit forboding and then rocking. A bit of Laughing Stock and Cale VU peppered in. Interesting combination of instrumentation and chordal changes. Shadows of pop and rock, more minimalistic. Pulls between misgivings and receiving. Highly recommended. One of the more inner’esting albums I have heard this year. Nice Bisquit- SOS- I have been on a psych kick for the last 6 months so influence admittance. A Brisbane band for certain. Disco Jazz Fusion. This album definiteltly fills the spot for a modern take. Nothing earth shattering but a well made slow head bop album I dig. Think a bit of Tame Impala/Cardigans. Top 20? Mmmm probably not in the end, but Im in the discopsych mood, so yeah. Personal favorite for now. Recommended as a stayer? Mmm not sure. Certainly worth a listen. Yard Act-Where’s My Utopia?- Post punker does a narrative mixed with african sounds, hip-hop brixy style, funk. Fun album if one likes this type humor. I do. Think a posher Gorillaz. The joys of selling out. Buying into the lie with honesty. Yes, a fun album. Seems to be sticking around for me. Recommended. Newest find and recommended: Rosalie Cunningham “To Shoot Another Day” Check it out you might dig it. First side is especially good. (epic, melodic, Sparks-ish, a bit funkish at times. Great production. Even dashes of prog I would say with hooky guitar). She gets a bit broadway-ish at times. In a good way. Shes a razzmatazz for sure. Gillian Welch, Waxahatachi (or whateveratchi), Bevis Frond, Arab Strap, Small Medium Large and many more prospects. Ok enough blathering. Thanks again for the year end Arnaldo! 🎸✌🏻
@@FleagleSangria Thanks for your recommendations! Now I have more to add to my “catch up” list. I feel there are not enough hours in the day to listen to all the music I would want to listen to. The only one your list I listened to was Faye Webster - but I loved that one and it made my list too! But the one I’m most interested in, based on your blurb, was Pet Shop Boys. I’ll check that one out!

Great review, really interested in the Primal Scream lp. Ty for introducing all of us to Brigette in '24...I had a tough grad school project this semester and that lp was the soundtrack! I think my favorite lp this year (not to mention phenomenal pressing) was Fontaines D.C.'s "Romance"...I could gush for paragraphs about it.
I’m glad you liked BCMB! I have tried to like Fontaines in the past but there is something about the vocals that irritates me. To be honest I haven’t given the new one a spin, but I will try again since it’s appearing in many year end lists. ✌🏻
@@cedblackmusic yes, I really liked Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee a lot when it was released. After a while though I realized it was a bit too long. I’ll revisit when it’s released on vinyl in a few months to see if it holds up.
