A truly inspirational talk, Sister True Dedication and others helping thank you. This talk was pure Thay in spirit and community. I feel Plum village is the North star in my life and hope to visit or attend a community here in Australia. I learnt so much to apply the ethical principle to my work environment. I also cried tears of joy and humility with Sister True Dedication at the close and you honoured the seeds of Thay that grew in me as I listened with a heart that was opened by your graceful words, actions and presence. 🙏 thank you all.
Such a lovely and subtle way to talk about something so complex and painful as capitalism. You have softened the seeds of hatred and angry in me. Thank you so much. 🙏
@@frecklemeadow I felt that too. I shed a tear myself watching his procession so I can only imagine what she feels having been around him physically ❣️
You are very brave and skill full, to approach such complex and systemic challenges with the truth and simplicity of the dharma, offering ideas that are relevant, practical and radical to how we run businesses and organisations. A thousand times “thank you”. Makes me think there should be a module on spirituality in business at the top business schools
it brings me joy to know that people from the business world are receiving these practical and critical teachings. thank you for your wisdom and tender heart, sister true dedication.
I love the attitude of brothers and sisters helping sister True Dedication. Genuine kindness at her finest. Thank you very much for this wonderful opportunity to learn and deepen about working in harmony with the laws and principles of life. 🙏🏼💖
My lovely sister True Dedication, your heart is shared and seen in this timely, timeless talk. You are radiant in your warmth and wisdom - may that light and love mirror itself back to you in the truest sense of the word. What a dear teacher you are. I see the forthright, pure child within you that wants a better world. Thank you.
This is such a vulnerable, open Dharma talk. I enjoyed the intimacy of it as reflected by the interaction with the people present 😊 It's a blessing for us all that Sr. Hien Nghiem was a busy lay person before 😇 The challenges facing the world are immense and we need to be kind to ourselves as we try to solve these challenges as best we can ❤ A lotus for you sister and the collective community that held the space on this day 🪷 ✨️
Capitalism needs to be regulated because history has taught us that humans can be weak in the area of ethical decision making - and here we are today - climate chaos and an incredible disconnection to Earth and ALL our relations. Thank you for your teachings.
Ya know, not for anything, but there are a few folks in Washington DC that I'd love for you to speak to on this subject...many blessings to you on the cusp of a New Year. Now that said, those of us who live on an island and have limited opportunities for obtaining necessities of life need to rely on the internet to obtain certain goods, but yes, I try to limit these purchases to reduce carbon footprints, but whether I rely on the internet and delivery services or take the ferry/plane, I am still stepping more heavily on the earth than I would like to...
This is the reason I am currently planning to vote for Marianne Williamson. I think it is imperative that States Of America find such a leader in order to be United, again. Very nice talk. Peace.
20:23 "we can take actions to mitigate the problems of our time and adapt our economic systems and infrastructure but ultimately that third pillar transforming that structure are the humans who will be in that system in 25-150 years. How will those humans be responding to the challenges of their time? We can't anticipate those challenges, but what if we could establish a way of being that we cultivate, and that's what we transmit for the generations to come...so they will know how to breathe in a crisis."
32:26 "What keeps you awake at night?" For me, this question sincerely cuts through an immense weight I've been carrying in my recent life. in that I have been thinking very intently about the direction my life is facing. If my actions are positive, and rooted in substantive motives. at least that's my hope along with many other systems of thought. 10/27/2023
Sr Hien Nghiem i such a loving and adorable person. I am so grateful for having human beeings like she and the whole community all over the planet 🙏🏼💜🪷
What a courageous and insightful dharma talk. You are talking about a change in the economic system. And the changes in consciousness it requires from all of us listening to you and Thay. If our deepest desire includes the reduction of social inequality and the urgently required changes to reduce global warming, we can all think and act according to our individual circumstances to further these crucial outcomes. It are not the efforts of a few heroes but the collective efforts of everybody that gets what you are saying and what needs to be achieved.

You are partly right, Sister. The best ancestors now are the ones who truly defend the natural world, and who truly try to prevent violence and exploitation (systemic or other). We're many chapters past the time of sensitization, kind Sister.
I need to watch the rest of this another time..... what a beautiful soul. I wanted to reach in and give you a hug as you were so emotional we could feel it 🙏
The talks warm my heart and provide such insight to my day But the volume on the new talks are low I have my volume on my headset the maximum and yet it still is low volume Thank you Does anyone else have this problem
I'm truly grateful 🙏🏼for all of your talks (teachings); however, your audio (volume) is always extremely low, which makes it very difficult to hear regardless of the device one is using! 😥
Thank you sister! The talk is powerful! I hope, next time, you could invite the bell after every 30 minutes - I think it would help the audience. Thanks!
"Wherever you stand, be the soul of that place." ~ Rumi "The most tender tears, the most tender kisses, the most tender wishes -- come from the gut, grime, grit & glory -- of a life grasped, and given, in full." ~ Paul Jung "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile." ~ Albert Einstein "To have a heart is a blessing. To have a heart, allows one to care. And to care for life, beyond your life, is a love that is ultimate -- for it is boundless and knows no death." ~ Paul Jung “The only real failure in life, is not to be true to the best one knows." ~ Frederic William Farrar "Through truth and beauty -- love is recognized... & love is realized." ~ Paul Jung “Love is the river of life in the world.” ~ Henry Ward Beecher “When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.” ~ Rumi
I Have tried so hard to hear this very important Dharma talk and it’s impossible I’ve used 2 different head sets there are times when sister is loud on a word but the technical issue is with the sound control who didn’t adjust volume to maximize her voice - sadly I write this
Sorry tk say but j was told those kind of clothes are burning easily... A lot of the garbage gote to western Africa and destroyed the nature... We have to talk about also... The microplastic in the oceans are also a problem...
Evolution or extinction? Are we able to learn to live in harmony with each other, nature and technology including AI? Sustainability not profitability. Mindfulness and self love, respect not exploitation. Our species faces a major die off, the population is passing the peak, passing a tipping point where our population goes from exponential growth to a transition to a new sustainable relationship with the ecosystem that has sustained us up until now. That downward curve can be as steep as a cliff which falls to zero, extinction, or it can begin steeply and recover as it returns to historic levels of sustainability, pre-technology levels such as pre-Columbian America. This could lead to a selection pressure that would produce a new species of hominid, speciation. The curve could be more gentle and could include technological solutions that would level off at a population that could both live more harmoniously with nature and each other and incorporate technology that would represent an evolution into a new species of technologically enhanced humanity, cyborgs. Taking life to other planets, terraforming and evolving new species of humans who could survive other planetary ecologies is another path that will require technologies including genetic engineering to reach for the stars. Managing these changes in a moral and humane way brings hope to a future that appears very scary from our selfish and ethnocentric perspectives. Keep up the good work or as John Perkins says "Dream True" instead of living like the hero of his book "Confessions of an Economic Hitman." Be blessed, you are a blessing. Aboriginal cultures have much to teach us.
A talk that should go to every school, college and business house. Brilliant

The political/religious point (1:31:00)is so insightful I think, 'we need a god of love' (I write with tears coming to my eyes...deep breath 🫁)
Her heart is so full it causes her to cry when she closes her eyes at the sound of the living bell
And she misses her teacher.

Abolish capitalism. The Buddha was against material pursuit.
The title is misleading, its not about capitalism, she’s just going all over the place.
