I just made the dipped pretzels and put peppermint extract in the white almond bark after it melted. Yum! No one complained and so much cheaper than store bought. Mmmmmm
Janice, what a wonderful family day you and the family have had, making memories, baking cookies and a deer for meat on the table❤. You have also blessed others with the fruits of your labors. Indeed, you are all TRULY BLESSED 💕🙏🙏
Shawn, I'm sure your dad would be very proud of you. I remember you telling us about your dad's gun and what it means to you. The huge smile on your face was just wonderful to see. Maybe in many years to come, one or more of the children will do the same in your honour. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and I am so thankful that the Lord led me to your beautiful, humble, hardworking and wholesome family. I feel as if I've been reunited with some long lost family members or friends, although we've never met and I am positive many of your viewers will feel the same way. You are each special in your own way and I love each one of you dearly. YOU MAKE ME HAPPY! Thank you Lord. Many blessings to everyone ❤️🕯️🙏
You are teaching all your children such an act of compassion by making the tins and giving to the community. They all pitch in to do what’s needed and will be able to cook on their own. Even the boys. God Bless you and your family
Love this! When my kids were little we had cookie day. We turned on the Christmas music and danced while we baked. My Mom made what you call haystacks. We used chocolate and butterscotch chips with the noodles. She called it noodle candy. Mom has passed and kids are grown now. But wonderful memories. Your children will always remember. 🥰
I would like to say WOW. What a wonderful, wonderful thing to do for community members. The recipients must feel so grateful. What I liked was to see everbody pitching in and never complaining . Your family is wonderful, kind, and courteous. It's so nice to see.❤😊
What fun and such a beautiful gesture! When my kids were younger, I made pumpkin rolls for their coaches, teachers, and scout leaders at thanksgiving time to show our appreciation for all they did. It sure makes you feel good to put a smile on someone’s face.
Again, Janice and Shaun, I feel like a broken record when I say how much joy your channel brings to my own life’s struggles. Each one of your children are so special to me whether it’s Abigail’s big smiles to David giving one of his cute as all heck smirks, it’s great fun for me. Thanks again for all you do for me. God bless you all! 🙏🙏😇😇❤️❤️🕊️🕊️🤣🤣🍪🍪
Love seeing the family effort at baking sweet treats. How thoughtful 😊😊 to show your appreciation to those who serve you throughout the year! Great ethics to instill in your children!
This is so nice, my mother was such an apocalyptic hoarder that we did very little baking and such because we had to save all the sufff for when we couldn’t buy it,she stocked up on all the supplies but you couldn’t use them and then no money for art and craft supplies, my kids love to bake and it happens very often
All the goodies look yummy. So very glad you guys got to enjoy a meal out. I know how seldom you do that. Been a little slow watching the videos this week as I came down with Covid on Wednesday and have been terribly sick. Hoping to turn the corner and feel better tomorrow. You guys have been the only thing that I have been able to watch even a little. So very thankful to have your smiling faces and cheerful spirit to help me through. Much love to you all. ❤
Oh Debra, I'm so sorry you've been sick! I'm going to be hoping right along with you that it has a short run and you start feeling better today. It really does mean a lot to me that our videos are bringing you some comfort during your illness. Take care, sweet lady. We're sending you love from the Ozarks! :)
Janice what good hearts you all have. What a wonderful good deed to teach the children to give a little of themselves back to the community. Love and blessings to the whole family
I'm thankful Shawn got a buck thats a blessing. Growing up when my dad got a deer every year I knew we were gonna eat good that winter. So i always thanked the Lord. I know Sarah wanted to go hunting so bad! Making thoes sweet treats for everyone was so thoughtful and something Im thinking of doing with my daughters Lydia and Abby. I loved this video so much ive watched it multiple times. Lol thanks for sharing. ❤
Family traditions are great they teach kids that giving is important and it makes you feel good ❤️ we have GAS burners and we like them and we think they work better than electric and if your electric ⚡️ goes out because a storm came through we can still cook 🎉with gas 🎉 Rebecca is right there by mommy waiting for a COOKIE 🍪 we hope you enjoyed your night off and your Dinner 🥘 in town 🎉
Enjoyed the vlog. I would have like to be a part of the clean up crew, that seems to be the best job for me 😋. Happy to see everyone working together to get the different tasks done so the day could go smoothly 👏🏽☺️

What a fun video!! All the treats look delicious! It reminds me of how my mom and I do for Christmas baking. That was a nice size deer! Way to go! Also, the story Shawn told about using his dad's rifle made it even more special! We have things like that passed down in my family as well.
Sara... put a pan of water on the stove to boil... place a metal bowl on the pan... melt your items in the bowl... using the pan of boiling water will keep you from burning things... i learn the hard way....lolllllll
oh my goodness!!! congratulations on the deer Shawn!!! My Daddy and I used to go hunting together and they are some amazing memories! Except for the part where I had to be quiet. lol
What a wonderful video!! What great memories you are making with the gift boxes from the baking, assembly and delivery. Loved the hand turkeys Anna and Abigail made! Absolutely loved knowing that Shawn was able to get a buck with his dads gun! I have no doubt that Shawn’s dad was with him on that hunting trip! ❤️ seeing the excitement of going out to dinner (especially David) was the icing on the cake! I didn’t want this video to end!! Thanks for sharing you lovely people!! Cheers!
@@ozarkfamilyhomestead I'm not too bad, a bit low ATM but seeing you all cheers me up. Honestly, you have no idea how much I adore you all. I'm hoping to get a nice letter in the post to you before Xmas. Oh, and there will be a lil surprise in there xxx
Loved the whole video, but especially loved seeing the little girls frolicking in the leaves. I could almost hear the leaves crunch and smell the distinct fall time smells. Excellent cookie skills girls Congratulations on the buck Shawn, that will go a long way to feed your family. Thanks for sharing.
The treats look so yummy! 😋 On the pretzels you could drizzle chocolate on the white and vice-versa. Also, you can dip one side in chocolate and the other side in white chocolate.
Janice...such a fun family involved day with a wonderful lesson in giving and gratitude...thank you for sharing, and all those goodies looked delicious. The Lord Bless and keep each one of you.
A fiend shared a cookie story with me. Several family members got together and made batches and put them on big round table that was her grandmas to cool. After cleaning up they went in the dining room to pack them up only to discover that about four inches in, all around the table the cookies were missing. They discovered that was as far as the dogs mouth could reach to get his share. He was clever , and knew that he couldn’t jump up an put his feet on the table. 😂
Hello Ozark Family i sure do enjoy watching the whole family busy makeing the cookies it makes me want to drop by and help out because everyone has there hands full and one extra hand sure can help. I am in northern Michigan so i am a little far from you right now.
Way to go Shawn, Nice Buck!! Food for the freezer. And the baking looks like a lot of fun with Janice and the girls! I looked for the Haystack cookie/treat recipe..and didnt see it above. Did i miss it Janice? Hugs to my favorite folks!!!
I ended up having to put it on our Facebook page, but here's a copy/paste of that one recipe! :) PEANUT BUTTER HAYSTACKS (makes about 12) 1 cup butterscotch chips 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup salted peanuts OR M&M mini candies 2 cups chow mein noodles Melt butterscotch chips and peanut butter on top of a double boiler or in a microwave. Blend together. Stir peanuts and noodles gently into the melted peanut butter mixture. Drop mixture by tablespoons onto waxed paper. Let cool until set.
You as parents and now the older children are great teachers. Not only to each other but now to the community. Love you all.
I just made the dipped pretzels and put peppermint extract in the white almond bark after it melted. Yum! No one complained and so much cheaper than store bought. Mmmmmm
Sarah is such a good sibling, and is gonna make such a good momma. She's such a smart , sweet, loving women
