Thank you Kell + I believe most are affected by the beauty but few are really conscious of these clothes and even fewer recognise or have given credit to how difficult it was for Ginger to do what she did compared to Fred. She had to do all those steps, movements and gestures on high heels and often backwards to his leading. In addition she had to concentrate on the movement of the cloth of her dresses/ gowns. Absolutely beautiful. Watching them dance puts a lump in my throat. I cannot explain it but it’s a visceral reaction to something. Those two were so incredibly talented and Ginger was drop-dead gorgeous. IMO, she was the epitome of femininity, grace, poise, class and style.
Fred had some great dancing partners, but with Ginger there was a surreal magical chemistry that was nor present with Eleanor Powell, Cyd Charisse or Rita Hayworth. Eleanor, Cyd and Rita were in a class by themselves, but that magical chemistry between Fred and Ginger will never ever again be.

In general I don't like Hollywood Musicals but when Fred and Ginger dance there is just some Strange Magic that is created that is so fascinating to watch.
The music from this era is actually good as it gives serious cues to the awe-inspiring dancing. Modern hollywood has lost essentially any and all magic it once had.
This is mesmerizing. I can watch Fred and Ginger all day, forever. There is nothing today that comes anywhere near this level of pure talent and quality. Not even in the same universe. Nothing.
If dancing is simply a vertical expression of a horizontal idea, Astaire and Rogers had the longest and most torrid love affair ever witnessed. And all to incredible, unforgettable music. Absolute Magic!

Ginger was so lovely here. Astaire is amazing and class personified, but it’s Ginger who steals this dance. Gorgeous dress and set. It’s hard to not watch her.
Now that is a truly graceful pair of human beings. What I love most about these numbers is Ginger's dresses and the way they swirl and float all over the place.
