    Feeling an AWI itch starting myself. Subscribed to keep up with your build out. Good thing about AWI versus Napolionics is that there really is more scalability. From the Forrage Wars in New Jersey to the larger battles to the Brits Southern campaign, there's a lot to choose from. Look forward to your progress.

    Exciting new project, looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Using a sprue of those militia as stand in sailors for my Hornblower project as got a sprue free lol

    Great project! I have been working on an AWI project for several years and really enjoying it. The Wargames Factory kits have their drawbacks but I have painted up quite a few and they have grown on me a bit. With a little bit of trimming and customization, you can improve lots of the poses and the overall look of the minis. It is hard to beat Perry though. I have used Land of the Free and they are a very good rules set. They are specifically designed for that specific period and therefore captures the AWI period better than Black Powder in my opinion. The Rebellion supplement book is a wonderful resource regardless of the rules set you choose. Looking forward to seeing how you get along :)

      Thanks! I'm really excited about it. Something totally new. Regarding WGF, I just can't unsee their weird firing poses :D It looks like a Chaplin skit ^^;

    Sharp Practice does AWI very well. Less toys needed than something like Black Powder too.

    I've been working on this period for a while, it's a lot of fun. I don't like the WGF/Warlord miniatures either but I've seen others use the heads/hats for converting the Perry kits - to give more variation - to good effect. I really wish Perrys had released plastic militia as they were apparently planning to do back when the other kits were released.

      Having met the Perrys, I can wholeheartedly say that if they could have already sculpted all of military history ever they'd just go back and start again. A remarkable pair of gents. One of a kind.

    Nice, fingers crossed. I went for 10mm AWI super small project of Pell Point skirmish. For rules I think I'll go with Little Wars TV set of Live Free or Die. Not very skirmishy set of rules but I think it will work fine as it's very basic and I didn't want to overcomplicate things for a start.

    As far as rules, look into Loose Files and American Scramble. They're free and serve as the obvious basis from whence other more current rules have evolved. British Grenadier and the Little Wars TV rules, Live Free or Die definitely lean on it.
