Today there are a lot of updates from the Kursk direction.
Here, in a decisive maneuver, Ukrainian forces initiated a series of flank attacks around Korenevo, forcing Russian troops to scatter and weaken their defenses. Seizing the moment, they launched a sudden, powerful assault on Korenevo, catching the Russians off guard and breaking through into the town.
Following recent territorial gains near Korenevo, Ukrainian forces have been stalled on both the northern and southern flanks of the town. To the northeast, around the recently captured villages of Olgovka and Matveevka, Ukrainian troops faced obstacles due to the natural barrier posed by the Krepna River and its reservoirs. This terrain advantage enabled Russian forces to strengthen their defensive positions, making it more difficult for Ukrainian forces to advance further north.
The village of Zhuravli, captured during earlier Ukrainian offensives, lies north of the Krepna River. This location offers a strategic advantage for the Ukrainians, as it allows them to maintain a bridgehead across the river, facilitating potential assaults that could bypass the main Russian defenses positioned near Olgovka. However, the limited infrastructure of Zhuravli restricts the Ukrainian ability to support a large-scale assault force capable of overwhelming Russian defenses along the river. At the same time, Russian forces in the area lack sufficient troops to mount a counterattack against the Ukrainian bridgehead at Zhuravli.
Given the challenging circumstances, the Ukrainian objective in this area is to outflank the Russian defenses along the Krepna River and break through their positions in the villages of Durovka, Zhebolovka, and Vetreno. The area between these villages consists of wide open fields with no significant Russian defenses, leaving the town as the last organized line of resistance. By securing these villages, Ukrainian forces could execute a flanking maneuver to the north, advancing toward the town and bringing the battle directly to Korenevo.
To achieve this, Ukrainian forces must expand their bridgehead north of the Krepna River, which requires intensifying their offensive efforts toward the town of Kauchuk. The Ukrainians are targeting the villages south of Kauchuk to stretch Russian defenses along the Krepna River and link up with the bridgehead at Zhuravli. By doing so, Ukrainian command could reinforce the bridgehead with additional troops, paving the way for a final push north toward Korenevo.
Unlike Korenevo and its flanks, the area around Kauchuk is less heavily defended by Russian forces due to a shortage of combat-ready troops in Kursk, with most of their focus concentrated on Korenevo. In the Kauchuk region, the Russians are relying on a limited number of naval infantry units, which are spread thin across the area to engage in skirmishes with Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Beyond these scattered marines, the Russians lack an organized line of defense in this sector, making it vulnerable to Ukrainian attacks and potential deep strikes into their rear.
Combat footage from the region shows a group of Ukrainian fighters dismounting from a Stryker vehicle after successfully engaging Russian forces deep behind enemy lines. One of the fighters later shared footage of a neutralized Russian soldier inside an intact UAZ truck equipped with electronic warfare systems. These systems are typically deployed in rear areas to protect frontline troops from drone strikes, confirming that Ukrainian forces managed to penetrate deep into Russian-held territory. The original, uncensored combat footage of all operations can be found on our Telegram channel through the link in the description.
By exploiting these Russian vulnerabilities and deploying assault units strategically, Ukrainian forces successfully captured the village of Semyonovka. Controlling Semyonovka has effectively encircled the settlement of Sheptukhovka, putting it in a precarious position. The fall of Sheptukhovka would enable Ukrainian forces to link up with the fighters at the Zhuravli bridgehead, reinforcing their position and supporting further offensive operations.
On the southern flank of Korenevo, Russian defenses were as weak as on the northern flank due to the concentration of most troops within the town itself. Exploiting these vulnerabilities, Ukrainian forces captured...

"Unfotunately for the Russians" - such a classic phrase. I look forward to hearing it again and again in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately for the Russians they chose Putin.
Ukrainians are using modern tactics while the Russians are fighting under their new Czar exactly as they did under the old one. Get them out of their fortified positions and they are no match for the AFU. The Southern Front is the modern equivalent of the Maginot Line. The Germans defeated the French by going around the Line instead of wasting men in frontal assaults. The Russians have had years to fortify the Donbass. Doing anything there other than holding the line is pointless. By putting their defenses in the Donbass, Russia has left the back door wide open and Ukraine has come calling.
But Sky News, and their 'expert' have decided that this is all a colossal blunder, and Chasiv Yar will fall tomorrow.
"Belarus" starts with the same letter as "Belgium" :D
@@HerbertLandei Same 3 letters even.
Hey, ain't that a line in a song by the who... "meet the new Czar, same as the old Czar"?
@HerbertLandei The moment Lukashenko orders an aggression against Ukraine, he will be hung from a tree by "his own" people. He knows it, and that's why he will do nothing to help Russia. Ukraine only needs a small force to defend the border to Belarus. No point in giving Lukashenko legitimacy. He will fall with Putin. Putler, in his divine wisdom, decided it was more important to defend occupied territories in Ukraine than his own borders. Ukraine just doubled the length of the front line Russia need to defend. They will not pursue a deep offensive into Russia. Just force Russia to disperse their forces along the entire front. I wouldn't want to be a Russian soldier when Ukraine goes on the offense in Donbas.
So, is this still Putin's "according to plan"? Great plan!
@Roger. Putin's plan has had a few setbacks. ;)

Funny thing that the ex president of UA was the one who decided to restructure the army based on NATO standards and asked the west to help them out. Pretty interesting considering he was deemed as Putin puppet.
I love this incredible power play the Ukrainians are making and how hard they are putting the Russians on their back foot. They've been at it for a couple weeks now, right? And the Russians are still floundering and disorganized and getting encircled across several miles? It's almost like the Russian forces don't care whether they win or not, at this point. Incompetence reigns supreme in Moscow.
Just be careful, whilst this is a great success the Russians are still making up ground in the Donbas. We all want Ukraine to win, but this channel is guilty of not reporting Ukrainian setbacks so it doesn’t in my opinion give a good overall impression on the progress of the war.
At this point the only hope for the Russians is a general retreat while rear units build up defenses. They will be required to give up 2 weeks worth of territory to MAYBE halt the Ukraine advance. The front is lost, at this point every fighters days are numbered and their is a good possibility they will lose the entire Army group.
Given the fact that Putin and North Korea have a great relationship, why hasn't Putin simply moved to North Korea? Wouldn't it be the safest place for him to live?

Slava Ukraine, does Putin know he is a global joke
Yes, he has become very shaky.
I think it might be starting to hit home for our boy, Putin. Poor sad little man
He's got to be remembering Pregozhins coup just about now...
- From Kursk Oblast it's about half the distance than from Rostov on Don, so instead of 8/15 hours (for Pregozhins rapid advanced force and heavy equipment respectively) it could be as fast as 4 hours for Ukraine, with their heavy support arriving just 2-3 hours later if they left from, say, Khomutovka, Kursk.
- He has less equipment and reserves now, than when he failed to stop Pregozhin.
- The Ukrainian heavy equipment is better maintained, more effective, and their tanks are much faster than Pregozhins.
- Ukraine has 12,000 troops in Kursk (+about 5,000 resting reserves ) vs Pregozhins 3-5,000 men during the coup. So, Ukraine could easily muster a 4x size advantage over Pregozhin in a breakthrough.
- There are two parallel motorway routes into Moscow that stay within bombardment support distance of each other, splitting the defence.
- Ukraine has considerably better real-time intelligence from NATO satellites.
- There'd be barely enough time to react to the situation if the Ukranians made a break for Moscow... certainly not enough time to bring troops back from the front.
- Supply lines aren't a major factor on a clean run to the objective
- Unlike Pregozhin, Ukrainians wouldn't accept a last minute 'deal'
The phrase _"Hot knife through butter"_ seems appropriate. So, Putin must be terrified of a Ukraine breakthrough in case they suddenly just run for Moscow... there'd be barely any time to respond and certainly no time to draw troops from the Ukranian front.
I'm not saying that they should... but if the fact that they easily 'could' is not keeping Putin awake at night, then he's a far bigger fool than I previously thought.
Talking of threats, isn't it about time Poland, Lithuania and Latvia had some large scale 'military exercises' on the western Belarusian border... right near the checkpoints where major motorways run directly into Minsk. if only to remind Lukashenko to keep his own troops close to home, to avoid getting spanked?
Luka should be left under no doubt that deploying the relatively small Belarussian forces into Kursk or Ukraine is probably a bad idea that will leave him badly exposed.

I wonder how many of us in America could fight for as long and as hard as Ukraine. So many are not in physical shape. The determination to be free is really impressive. No giving up despite shelling and death everywhere.
Of the American armed forces, a majority could (as long as the REMFs are excluded).
They've had time to get into shape. Anyone who was in poor physical shape because of underlying health problems has either been evacuated or they've died. What's left is people who have been doing this for far too long already.
Thank you Ukraine for providing such valuable geography classes. Now I not only aware of the cities and rivers in the area but I'm also even able to pronounce the names of those towns. Slava Ukraine!! 🟦🟨🟦🟨
Russia's military really is disastrously overstretched. They could probably almost defend Russia half-competently if they weren't also trying to hold a load of stolen Ukrainian land.
If they hadn't invaded Ukraine, they wouldn't have to defend themselves. No one wants to conquer Russia.
This is what happens when you have a KGB spy, micromanage military operations, because like the Traitor trump, Putin is the "smartest man in the room" so what can possibly go... wrong?
The border against Norway and Finland is all but empty. The Finns could walk in and take St. Petersburg if they wanted, but they are not like Russia.
@@hb9145
They could even call most of that area “liberated”, as the Russians annexed that land after the mostly failed invasion of Finland
@@hb9145 Also, not to put too fine a point on it, but Russia being invaded by countries who definitely have the firepower to finish the job is the kind of thing that makes whatever portion of their nuclear arsenal is still functional in to a real factor.
Ukraine can do what it is doing because it is very obvious that there's a much less drastic way for Russia to make them leave (giving Ukraine back the land that Russia has stolen). If a country with a full, modern military went on the offensive against Russia right now, it would look like they were going for a killing blow. And a government that thinks it is about to fall is a government unlikely to show restraint.
Heroyam Slava! 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
I wonder how much the Russians can lose before they start to feel that they can't lose anymore? How much territory and how many people, do they think they can afford to lose? It's been a very old Russian idea to let invaders simply take and destroy as much of Russia as they can, and let the peasants absorb the blows. I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone here that, but I do wonder where the limit is, these days.
Thank you for covering this
🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦💪💪💪
I would assume that from these captured territories Ukraine could launch their missiles deeper into Russian territory, especially now that they have the new jet drones.
yes , ut they have only pentrated 35-40 km, that dosnt matter, and they would have to make sure the russians didnt see it, and that area is wery covered y drones
Its almost a rounding error in difference though. Helpful, sure. But cruise missiles (be it jet or propeller driven) have ranges of 20x to 50x the distance Ukraine has pushed into Russia. There are very few targets that they couldn't hit a month ago with those missiles that they can hit now.
Not without permission from Joe's clever boys who think they control escalation. They also think they will make peace elsewhere. Kind of sad.
@@dgthe3 And they won't be launched from Kursk.
I was wondering about this too, but not sure if this would make much of a difference. Peter Zeihan believes they are trying to cut off supply lines into Belgorod to weaken Russian invasion forces.
