Love the Raven Fork! Try the Tukaseegee...I've fished it. Fontana has walleye and landlocked steelhead. I heard that the occasional musky is taken from that area too...
Apparently this video wasn't made this year. Been up there 4 times this year. Blanked 2 weekends and the other 2 netted 5 trout. The stocking program in Cherokee has been dismal at best the past 2 years.
Jim Shorts, Jiggin' Jerry here. The video was made in May 2018, along with campers and campground managers spectating and joining in with some of the catches. I agree that the stocking program has dwindled due to the revenue Cherokee is obtaining through their casino. They stopped stocking Brown and Gold Trout awhile back now but they still stock their Rainbow Trout pretty heavily during certain times of the year, hint, May, since it is the start of the season, just before a lot of the families go on vacation and the children are out of school. @@FishingWithJigginJerry Hey Jerrry. I am friends with Jim Shorts. We trout fish every weekend together. Yes you are very correct. The Casino has hurt the fishing there. Sad to see too. We still love fishing there but have decided to put our main fishing into other waters where we have been very successful this past year. Would love to have you come fish with us some time. We have some great waters we believe you would really enjoy.
I fish Cherokee once or twice a year. It's always good if you can get around the rain storms in the spring and summer. Water comes up quick and flows hard but it usually drops back down within two or three days. I fly fish only. Broke my nephew in on fly fishing there.
We are staying at Yogi June 2020. Cherokee is an amazing place and the fishing is spectacular. Thanks for the video.

I've fished Cherokee for a few years . The first day were good . After that the fish kinda give out.
