- Vide Cor Meum is a song composed by Patrick Cassidy based on Dante's "La Vita Nuova", specifically on the sonnet "A ciascun'alma presa", in chapter 3 of the Vita Nuova. The song was produced by Patrick Cassidy and Hans Zimmer and was performed by Libera / Lyndhurst Orchestrathe, conducted by Gavin Greenaway. Singers are Danielle de Niese and Bruno Lazzaretti, who play Beatrice and Dante, respectively.

I am aghast that after studying music for most of my 75 years I have never come across any song as beautiful and captivating as this.
i commented on this video six years ago an said just "beautiful music" because its all i could get out..im just some random dude from northern kentucky.. but the emotion i was feeling when i herd it with the one i love was something out of this world, she passed away last year tragically an i really havent dealt w it yet but this came on randomly as i was cleaning, saw my comment an just lost it, music was a big part of our life an i havent listened to much since tbh but this sonnet from a world long forgotten holds a real special place in my heart😊❤

I just watched “Hannibal” last night, it is one of my all time favorites. I noticed so many things I missed. That “Hello, Clarice” line, but also the part where Hannibal is on the forklift he rises toward the white light like a crucified Jesus. Also, when he quotes the “bars” line to Allegra after the opera, he is referring to Clarice. I only wish we had seen Clarice she’d a tear when looking at the fireworks at the end. It is sad they never finished the series with Anthony Hopkin’s screenplay.

I'd never heard this before until a few months ago (and I'm 60)...so glad I found it.
This song really touches my heart every time I hear it. It's the most beautiful opera piece in history, to me. I love opera, and my great grandmother from Sicily was the one who introduced me to opera Music. I've listened to many charming opera pieces, and different cultural operas, and still THIS opera is my favourite.

I believe its not only me who have some different thoughts and feelings because of hearing this. This are my thoughts..
The beauty is all around us, every sunset, every drop of morning dew on the leaf, every bird singing his song, every blooming flower in the field.
And people are part of it...every born child, every smile from one to another, every good deed, every gentle touch, every heart full of love.
But humans are a flawed creatures. They kill, they hate, they hurting...and they dont hurting only themselves, they hurting animals and this whole planet too.
They can create most beautiful things like cities on the water but they fill them with sins, dirt and garbage.
They poison oceans and soil, slaughter animals, because of their greed they dig holes into mother Earth, into her heart.
So im asking...is this hell we are living it or is it heaven? Does God exist and can he cry? with emotion and sadness? Or is he giving us just free will to do anything and just observing, emotionlessly?
Maybe we live in both depending on how we feel. When we're happy, its heaven, when we are sad, it is hell.
