Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn an old stone barn into our home, and learn the ropes of looking after a piece of land to make an abundant garden and one day, our very own winery.

Easiest way to put drainage holes
In plastic is something that gets hot like a wood burning tool, hot glue gun without the glue stick or a soldering iron. Makes perfect little holes fast.

When you build your final kitchen counters, consider building in one or two pull out boards just under the surface. I have had those in several kitchens, and indeed in the desk where I am sitting right now. I have a cat purring on my pullout, waiting to see If I will put on a mouse video. I digress. The pullouts give one instant clear counter when you have used up your space, and are really helpful. I lived in an tiny old mobile home and was so glad the kitchen had one.

You can plant the melons on top of your compost heap, the warm rotting pile will be perfect for them. Works for squash & courgettes too.

    Yay sand happy days.
Get some pallets and make a work bench, saves you bending all the time . Put a big deep container , rectangular on it and pot up in there… Make yr compost with feed and broken egg shells eg shells mix it up and viola you can do yr pots. Happy gardening 👩‍🌾

Hi guys everything is coming along great. Just a thought I am a dog rehab practitioner and would like to suggest that you don't ask Frankie to jump like that. Long backed dogs are some of my most frequent patients and often require extensive surgery for their spines - usually after something as simple as jumping on and off sofas.

Another remedy for stings is a copper penny. I got stung in my garden and my neighbor heard me scream and she ran to me with a penny which I put on top of the sting and it took the pain away. I might have a copper penny around more than tobacco since I no longer smoke and have no tobacco around.

I have been using plastic bottles for my seeds too and also to place over my seed trays as mini greenhouses and take it from me as I managed to slice myself with the standing knife, using scissors is much easier, just pinch the plastic and cut a whole x

Kudos. Anyway to broach a .. how the car. On your underground visitors, nicks solution? A few years ago I came across a solution from kleeneze, cedar balls. Another one an American solution, plant some tobacco plants , work outwards on your plots, expats Portugal gardening tips gave a solution, can remember, but ask Lee.
