We are Heather, Bradey, Alexa and Chloe. We purchased an abandoned stone barn in the foothills of the Italian Alps and we are working together as a family to renovate and restore this old stone barn into our dream home.

You were standing on your poured concrete deck when you said you had to rip up the floor. My heart skipped a beat before I figured out you were talking about an interior wood floor. I think my dog laughed too. 😂
Thought the exact same thing. Relieved to be wrong 😅
I just thought the same, until I read yer comment…. I’m relieved it’s not the concrete floor too!
🙌😅🤩🙌
That's what I thought also!😵😆
That was my first thought too!!
Dogs have the best sense of humor!
To keep the goats coming back, add salt blocks, sold at farm animal stores, and some treats for their keeper. Then move the block of salt to another terrace and there they will maintain your natural garden.
😂
Hardest working man that I have ever seen.
I feel like we got a bonus this week - 3 videos instead of one. Thanks for that. It's great to see you make progress!
Disclaimer I know it is your house and floor and I am sure there is a reason for not staggering the joints . But when you stagger the joints there is much less waste and no distracting seam across the width of the room my two cents worth. Enjoying the show keeping them coming
It is done because they wanted the ends of the boards screwed down, so they had to end on the beams.
Keep it up! l have the worlds respect for you.
Well done, especially staying so positive with what must be a huge disappointment! Hugs from Johannesburg
I agree. He could stagger across the beams, staggering increases strength laterally for the floor
I agree, it was the first thing that came to mind. I am at what you have done, I can’t image the before and after. I really admired you.
I just love your elevated view of all the old hillside settlements. It is rather unique and somehow, medieval. Unique and so attractive. When and for whom the old church bells toll, complete the picture.
Never be ashamed of a mistake. I was told once it's only a mistake if you do it twice. First time is a learning experience. The house is looking good. I think I could live a stone house like that for sure!
Those yellow boards have been a godsend for all sorts of jobs. It’s really shaping up now and I love the stonework it’s perfect
Heather & Brady, yr a tenacious couple, you keep on keep'n on. Your home is really starting to take shape. Bless ya's ❤
Thank goodness it was not the concrete floor that you just finished on the verandah (nearly died when you said you had to rip a floor up) thank goodness it was only a wooden floor Phew!!! You nearly had to resuscitate me, ha ha. Have a lovely week.
Bradey, as mistakes go-this wasn’t too bad… Yes, you had a lot of time invested, but the old floor is still useable for future projects. And now you’ll enjoy a beautiful new wood floor in your bedroom!! 👍🏻☀️🪵🪵🪵
You two have set a new standard for excellence in doing the right thing regardless of the difficulty. Your stone barn/house restoration is just amazing. Every time I tune in, it just gets better and better. Love seeing the majestic backdrop to your board painting. What a gorgeous setting. Enjoying watching your progress from PA, USA.
Whew! I'm glad it's not the first floor with all that concrete!
The stone house is really starting to look like a home it is amazing . 💙💙🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
We still admire your incredible project and courage with such a warm smile
I really admire your stamina and how you have faced all the ups and downs with your stone house.
Cant stop admiring the transformation. So much of hard, intense labour but the results absolutely astonishing. Beautiful absolutely in love with the new home and God blessed nature that surrounds your home.
Oh wow, another video! *grabs coffee
Love this channel!
The stone with the beautiful orange brown wood is so beautiful. This video was the first one where you could really see it from the entire side of the house....so so pretty!!!
That floor issue happened to us, we also had to reorder. Your view makes me long for the mountains. Beautiful isnt enough to describe that view. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ from seattle wa USA
I am every single time amazed by your handcraft your vision and taste, the brilliant coordination and strategic intelligence & planning. Can’t believe what came out of this place thinking back at the time where it all started. Really inspiring and so much to learn. Happy to see the progress. Wish all the best. Sending you big hugs from Istanbul ❤
You are kind and respectful to one another..it's so needed.with this large project..keep up the good work ❤😊
I've been watching for months now, so decided to like, share, comment. I miss when you don't post! I love seeing the progress and it makes me want to move to Italy.
You guys have the hardest work to do in order to have your home finished. I am praying for help from above for you both.
Ha!..... don't hold your breath on THAT one......!!
The floor, it is "Murphy's Law", something always has to happen when things seem to run so smooth.... 😮😊
I moved to Turkey from Norway 20 years ago and I got many lessons like this in my new country. However, stuff going out of production can happen anywhere. ❤
The way your workers work, the visa situation and the more laid back life, it is all very similar to where I live. The last part was one of the main reasons why I chose a Mediterranean country. I love to follow you settling down in Italy. I believe you will be very happy in your new home! 🌹🌹
You two have chosen the most beautiful place on the Earth to make your home and I have to say , seem very very nice !!
Aww thank you so much for sharing this beautiful journey with us I hope that when everything is done you vlog a house tour
Living on my sailboat sailing around the world I love to escape and watch you guys! Thanks for the amazing videos!!
Oh I’m so excited to see the progress each week
Great view of the new enlarged opening from a distance!! Really enhanced the look, great work by all!!
It looks beautiful! I am so sorry this happened to you guys, but you rallied and laughed all the way through it. I am sure there were tears and frustrations but you guys really come together!
Amazing Bradey!!! 👏👏👏
As a builder/ contractor I am truly frustrated as well when product and or materials become discontinued. Especially when it’s good quality stuff. I feel your pain. But my wife and love watching your renovations. It’s looking fantastic!
Love your channel and your journey
What a lovely cottage this will be when it's done! We have been following for a very long time. When you were still in the USA.
Thanks for sharing this video. Greetings Melinda 👋🏻🌷👋🏻
How exciting! Your home is absolutely gorgeous ❤️
I can't believe you went and put that floor down and didn't put any plastic covering over it when you started that wall!
They are going to be adding a thin concrete floor on top of the wood floor so it doesn't matter if it gets a little mortar on it ....
@@angelomasciantonioha!..... I detect a theme emerging here.....!!
....
You work so hard , it's going to be so beautiful in every way when finished , and you'll be able to rent yourself out project managing !!
I love that wall with the bigger stones that go up the wall. That is incredible... can't take my eyes off it! Oh please don't cover all that stone!
The house is becoming a true home. You have worked so hard on this renovation. Your dedication is impressive. What a wonderful home to raise your girls.
I just love how you two are being together......
I am constantly amazed at your stamina and hard work that never seems to lessen. And yet, you keep on going with all the setbacks, new challenges and even alone or sometimes with Heather! Kudos to your resolute work attitude, Brady. You are amazing. Of course, one sees the beautiful views and in one's mind, the completion of the ancient stone house which will, after three year's huge work, afford you a lovely home forever. Or ...however long " forever" may be with your peripatetic lifestyle.
Heather, I really appreciate all the storytelling you do with your editing. Brava!
Do not worry about having straight walls. Wonky is interesting and cool. Good idea to prevent bees creating nests.
You guys are doing a wonderful job. Seeing you I have started making my own stone house from scratch.
Hi it's going to look so beautifull very good job everything i love watching i never miss a video. Love from Argentina.
For that last piece of floor you split the difference, a short one on each end. Move and trim the long board so it is between centers on joists.
Another job done well; thanks for shoring us 🎉🎉🎉
Most of your old style walls, especially on the side of mountains, we're built the way your walls are. This was to actually hold the earth or cliffs up. You wouldn't want to have a rock or two falling on you if the mountain shifts.
Mother Earth has always kept us respectful to her and respected her diversity.
Love your beautiful home and your family.
❤❤❤❤😊
I like how Heather has thrown herself into the job, My name is Heather too❤
Wow!! Shaping up to such a beautiful mountain side home!!!!
I am glad its not the roof for that for the New room..
Heathers giggles always keep things positive.. you are Lucky to havd her as a partner.❤❤es
Your house is a lifetime project ! Stone houses have their own pros. and cons. in diff seasons/weathers, be prepared of it !
I lived for one month in Greece in a stone house with a magnificent terrasse (best place ) but inside it was very hot in summertime and down stairs cool but dumpy with a musty smell... my best wishes aniway, your home looks awesome !
It depends on how it's constructed and maintained. And how old it is. It seems like they are going to be using drywall and insulation. And they made proper floor on ground level. That will make it relatively easy to keep warm and cool, as long as they have AC. As long as proper insulation is in place for interior, both moisture and heat, it will be just as good as modern home and shouldn't have any of those issues.
@@mukkaar ...time will tell it !
We have a humidity control system, adequate insulation, dehumidification systems and air exchange systems. Should be good to go
We all learn from our mistakes you just carry on and make it right , great vid you guys are doing great 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You’re doing great!!! 🥰❤️❤️❤️🌻🌻🌻❤️❤️❤️📚🇨🇦🇨🇦
Hi Heather and Brady, you will have a beautiful house, I can't wait to see the end result. Heather I love to see how positive you are and always laughing. I love you video's. Keep going . And here come the goats again. Love from Joey Walvis Bay, Namibia❤❤❤❤
Nice to hear Heather narrate, lately it's been Bradley. I enjoyed the video and music, a change of pace.
So look forward to Sunday’s because of your channel. Your home will be amazing.
You’re on an incredible journey. Your positive outlook is serving you well. Your content in your own skin Brady. I can’t recall who said this. “Fear not the man who knows not everything, but fear most the man who knows everything, for he knows not what he does not know.”
The floor and the ceiling are going to be absolutely beautiful!!! It's really going to brighten up the rooms! ❤❤❤
Two steps forward one step back. You'll get there in the end. I do envy you those views!
Beautiful scenery. Can’t wait to tour the entire village.
all mistakes can be cured with coffee - bravo to you two wonders
Love the look of the character tree behind your working place.
The intro to this video, with you two walking up the path hand-in-hand to your dream home was perfecto! 🥰
I love the music in your videos…it’s like a bonus!
Omg The house is fabulous, I can’t wait 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Looking good, beyond good. Thank you again for a wonderful video! Heather you keep on smiling and laughing and giggling to your hearts content! (reference to 2 comments you received). It was beautiful to see you both working together. Have a wonderfully blessed week! 💖💖💜💜😁😁
Gosh guys you painted all those floor boards after only one cup of coffee! Wooo! That's some espresso!! 😆😉Honestly though you guys are awesome hard workers..and make a great team!
Respect folks 👏👏
You were honest with us, and that to me ,shows your respect for your community. 👏👏😎
Boy howdy! Y'all do floors so differently than here in the states. I understand that the bottom of the bedroom is the ceiling of the room below, but here there would be whatever wiring is needed for the lights or fans needed in the floor below, ann pipe for whatever plumgin that is needed, a layer of insulation over that, and a layer of Oriented Strand Board over that, THEN whatever your finished bedroom flooring over that. As much work as it is to do what your doing, it's only one layer.
That upstairs floor will have a concrete layer over the wood they jut put down.
Congratulations on passing 300K Subs!! Your views are spectacular! What a wonderful but massive project you’ve taken on! KUDOS
It was a pleasure watching your progress once again. You will have the most beautiful historic home in all the land. Lol.
Wgew I am happy to hear it's only the wood floors. I thought it was the floors below because of missed piping etc. Now you can use that flooring another way. Maybe as 1/2 wall in kitchen or dining room. Then add a ledger for picures etc. Or something special down the line. Glad you brushed this off it could have been worse. Oh still listening a hearing you say you will keep these board as future projects. Thing happen for a reason! Great video!
TYPO---Whew....
Thank you for also sharing the troubles you face. Life is never perfect, and we all mess up in our decisions and actions at some times. Thank you for keeping it real. ❤❤
Brady as u and Heather were staining the new flooring, I would look out at ur view. so pretty, that has to help when doing all that work.. Also love the music to ur video..
Wow, what progress. So cool watching you use the deck and staircase now. What a huge amount of work went into them. The beams over the doorways are beyond gorgeous. ❤️🇨🇦
The home is closer to move in. Then, you will enjoy it for many years. Beautiful view.
Good progress and a lot of hard work. Its going to be so worth it.❤
I was willing to purchase Soundcore by the way, the product hasn’t been out for sale in Turkey yet. It’s beautiful I’d love to buy it, loved the neon green one. Sad it is and your discount codes are just valid for the US & UK 😢
Hope they are gonna be available here soon too ❤
Looking good. Hard work paying off. Take care.
Nice job! I was a bit confused because the floor that was seen was not white, then you showed it from below and the lightbulb lit up. I bet you wished for that winch system the stone masons had. Looking better and better!!
Hey, I love your process and learnings. mistakes are made and what appears one day as a 'mis-take' of a situation may later on be a blessing or another smaller project somewhere on your lovely property. Your enthusiasm and skill inspire me and I've done a lot of alternative projects both in Europe and in America, kudos guys, keep up the good work!!!
Great work well done
The house is really getting together👍
Came across you videos by chance and love them. So inspiring and Brady...you are one hard worker!!
Well done ...your guys are a phenomenal team
27:00 Ah the lawn mower crew has arrived...
So much amazing patience and persistence!! Love watching the progress!! 🤩🙌🎊💖
You should be very proud of how far you’ve come in this restoration/build.
You have so many skills Brady.
I felt sad for you when you realised you had to take up the floorboards, the look of dejection on your face & body language Brady😔 & have not quite the number of new boards to totally re-floor.😢
Loving getting more video’s. So sorry about having to replace the floor. Your new home is emerging more and more each video now and it’s so beautiful!! The view is awe inspiring!! Sitting on that deck and enjoying coffee each morning sounds glorious to me. Your work ethics, both of you, is a prime example of how hard work pays off in many many ways. You are creating beauty, your strength is gaining momentum, it’s great for extending life with the conditioning your doing to your bodies and the end result of your home will give you years of pleasure. You may decide the farther you need to travel to enjoy a beautiful experience is a few steps to your deck. All the memories good and bad, the accomplishments you so gallantly achieved can be rehashed and relived in memory as you drink in the beauty you created. A huge salute to your family!! Love you all!! May all your days be filled with beauty!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
أحببت هذا إنها تذكرني بالربف لدينا حيث كانت بيوت أجدادي من حجر ااااه الذكريات الجميلة شكرا من الجزائر ❤ لقد أحببتكم
Everything is shaping up beautifully 🙏🏼👍❤️
Looking awesome, really coming together great job, lots of love from Australia 🌏🦘
I found your channel a couple months back when you had stones all OVER your property. It looked like a depressingly impossible MESS. But you and your workers are amazingly driven and the progress you've made is sooo satifying to see. Bravo! Molto bene! Bellissimo! And such high quality work too.
Hi, it would have probably been better to treat the knots to your floor boarding with a knotting sealant before painting because they will leak resin in time . But congrats on all the hard work all looking fab .
Great video as always 🙏
You are one smart young woman! Love your channel. Thanks. 😊
I was imagining that the floor that needed to be removed was the concrete. I am relieved it is only the wood floor. Everyone has these oopsies where life doesnt go your way. Great work all round!
I sure enjoy watching you create your fabulous home!🦌💌❤️👍🔨🔨🔨🪜🙏👍
You two work so hard!! So much praise for your determination and strength to achieve your dreams!! I love watching the build. ❤
