There's some solid clones and other guns coming out of Turkey for quite affordable prices. My first gun was the Canik TP9DA, and I couldn't be happier with it.

Glad I found your channel. Sold a magnum research 1911 to pay house taxes years ago. They are selling for 800. I think this tisas would be fine replacement.
I recently bought the Tisas Raider (M45A1 clone), was surprised that it comes with 2 quality mags, cleaning tools, and a very nice plastic case. I compared it to my Springfield Armory Ronin 1911, and i didnt notice much difference aside from the safety on the Tisas is a little too loose, and the trigger isnt quite as clean as my Ronin, but the Tisas felt like it had a much smoother fitment and action than my Ronin. I haven't shot it yet, but I'm confident it will perform well. For $650, to get a quality railed 1911 that's a clone of the now legendary and $5000+ priced Colt M45A1, that also comes with the nice case, tools and quality mags, that's just unheard of.
I used to have a SAR K2 pistol from Turkey, and I loved that gun. For those who don't know, it is an ALL steel gun, with 14+1 capacity, chambered in .45ACP. I sold it a few years back. This looks like a good replacement, as I have always wanted a 1911.

Picked up one of these for $430 on sale during PSA’s Freedom Week sale. Don’t have a whole lot of 1911 experience, but I can tell it was a lot of gun for the money and a lot nicer than the Springfield one I rented at a local range.
I paid 329+tax on classicfirearms. I consider it my first good deal. I did have an issue which I’m in the middle of sending it back in for some warranty work but still very much looking forward to getting it back.
hi, i purchased a duty model without the rail and a carry model with the rail, and they do make wonderful platforms to improve upon, I gutted the duty model and i kept the slide, frame, barrel and ambi thumb safety, the rest of the internals were replaced with Wilson combat parts, i also had a 1 piece mag well and bushing compensator from Wilson added as well. if you do the work yourself it ran me about $900 total. the results are very apparent, i went from a decent 1911 with a good trigger, and terrible springs (@30lb recoil and terrible/painful mag release) to a a very nice match grade paper/steel killer. the commander length model, will get similar treatment and a surefire light. but why some may ask would you gut a perfectly good budget gun...the answer is simple, neither had functional grip safeties from the factory and where purchased several months apart. be sure to do a proper inspection and function check on these guns before using. i also found the grip safeties are to blame as the geometries between them and the trigger was off, also its dimensions are a little off from other beaver-tail grip safeties hard to tell until you try to remove them. overall i am still happy to have these pistols, even if all the internals are all Wilson Combat now, they are still cheaper than most Kimbers and other higher end copies. one last remark, with all their high speed improvements they still have a standard mag release, so you may want to consider an extended one...about 1/16" longer is all, but that's also personal preferance.
As a 1911 shooter for 33yrs, I hate hearing these polymer guys say the 1911 is a terrible gun for first time shooters. It's to complactcated, only 10% of the population should carry one, I call b.s.. if you start and practice and learn the platform including maintenance, polymer guns will be a cake walk. Actually, once you shoot 1911s you won't want anything else.
That's the issue with most shooters these days they just want to pull the gun out and shoot they rarely take any time out to learn how to properly shoot the gun or clean it so I'm guessing that's why everybody likes to talk about the Glocks Sig 320 and M&P because they're a little bit more easier to learn. But anything that has a hammer or is made out of metal comes across as being complicated and a high maintenance gun sad but it's the truth
I have both the duty and carry versions. Other than the really basic plastic grips, these pistols are top notch! Over one thousand rounds between both and zero issues! VZ grips are worth every penny!
I have three of these. The carry model, the duty model and another carry railed model. Only complaint is that the ambi-safety on all three are very loosely fit. So much so that the thumb safeties "wobbles" in the frame and is not very positive when engaged. Swapped the one on the duty model out for a single sided thumb safety with a much better fit. Will probably do the same on the other two.
Zenith used to be the importer of Tisas. They marketed it as their "Regent" 1911s. Now Zenith only has 3 models. SDS has all of Tisas variants and even additional for the US market only variants.
Sds upped the qc too. The old zenith 1911s were cast frames and had poor machining. Crooked cut feed ramps, magazine wells looked cut with a triangle file. The sds models are forged frame, slide and barrel. Barrel is chrome plated. Feed ramps are cleanly machined. Slide to frame fit is tight. The lines along the gun are nearly flawless. I now own 2 and they are as nice as the custom pieces I made myself. My only complaint is there is a little play in the barrel lockup but I purchased them to be carry guns so bullseye accurate isn't necessary for my mileage. Still as accurate as most off the shelf defensive guns
I got a WW2 GI version of TISAS 1911 45ACP with 440$ included 2 Checkmate production USA import magazine (dual lips follower), blue Polyamide plastic hard box and with one oil for cleaning&maintenance.
