    Details like these, are clearly the difference between deeper understanding of the art and the knowledge from the early beginning.

    I was recovering from a spinal fracture in spring 2018. It was then that I found your youtube videos, which had a great impact on me. I had never heard of thumb draw archery before. As I recovered, it became my new hobby that I can learn for a lifetime. Thank you Armin 🙏

    This brings together a lot into one synoptic whole. Integrating the motions, so they come from the core and radiate out to the extremities, is a much-needed antidote to the tendency to focus on what the fingers and hands are doing. Very helpful, thanks!

    Absolutely Correct Armin... 😊 .. 99% of people on internet showing their Archery skill of Khatra are actually foing a Fake Khatra or wrong method of khatra. No need to show Khatra if you do not practice it or do not know the correct method of doing it., apart learning it. Khatra may look fsacinating to Traditional Archery Lovers, but doing it witbout proper method or in a wr9ng way can ruin your normal Archery also. As Khatra is all about the co-ordination , milisecond release and movement of bow hand. With perfect timing .. that makes a huge difference in correctly doing it.Logically ..what isbthe use of un necessary movement while arrow has already passed by your Bow arrow pass area.

    Excellent description! It just feels so 'right' when you do this! I don't always achieve it--but I feel it when it happens.
    I first got this feeling when practicing Western style instinctive shooting. It's so natural and 'right'. It makes archery feel more meditative and 'Zen'. Good for the spirit

    Armin has the years of experience and practice behind his teaching.

    it's quite the same dynamic than the push-pull with longbows, the difference is the shoulder action in your demonstration
    sure it's more efficient, matter of kinetic energy !

    Oh, interesting topic, I'm learning traditional archery (and archery at all) only for one year, but our instructors haven't any basis on it and they're all self-taught with a some years of experience. I trying to do khatra, but it's hard to understand what I doing and how right is it. It's very natural for me now, at least. I think, I need to campture my shots on video to analyze my shooting technique.

    • @0ooTheMAXXoo0
      @0ooTheMAXXoo0 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Look at Armin's older videos about "simple khatra"... Some about body structure. I have martial arts background so I was always using whole body mechanics since I started archery but got all the archery versions, the details from Armin, Mihai, and "A shot from the heart" video. I picked what works for me from those sources, Jeet Kune Do style.

      Took martial arts for over two years, sword, duel stick hapkido , but when they wanted to use bows,, it was not good, they had very old metal bows, it was deffinently a no go.. safety and knowledge,, if they were knowledgeable they wouldn't have used metal bows, so what I am saying is, it's whole package deal, complete knowledge of every aspect of the art or form, skills,!

    All these recent Khatra videos make me think if I am doing something wrong or not... I'm not thinking about or consciously doing that bow-hand release, double release, torque or string twist or whatever. For me, it is one fluid motion where the tension and all movements come naturally, as if it can't be done differently, anyway. I think I am doing all of these things in small doses. The terms for these techniques I only got from videos like yours, and if I really concentrate on getting one of them "right", I mostly fail and ruin my shots. Could it be that different body shapes or even different mental types of people have different "natural" movements when it comes to the "right" archery technique for them?

    These new supposed archery experts need to shut up with the term double release it's not double release its khatra plain and simple, keep the new term buried in the dirt where it belongs I'd much prefer the original proper term of khatra as it's been said and done for centuries dont ruin archery with these un needed new pathetic term names...
