Good morning! Love all your videos. My daughter has an LG just like the one you have. She is having problems with water leaking out onto the front of the soap dispenser unit…any suggestions? Thank you!

Thanks for your kind comment. We enjoy producing the content! I suspect the route that water drains back into the tub (through the fins in the inner tub) is blocked. Water flows in during a usual cycle but can't drain fast enough, and it backs up and flows out the front. Please remove the product drawer by depressing the tab in the back of the dispenser drawer and pulling it out. Look into the cavity, put a flexible wire or drain tape into the exit, and see what you get. While at it, clean the tunnel, as its ceiling can get quite dirty. Let me know if this helps! Best, DFJ

Replacing the surround and leaving the door cracked to allow for airflow is the ONLY way to get rid of and prevent the odor from coming back. The other solution is to get a Speed Queen top loader🙂

Yes, indeed, ventilation is key. I also pull out the product dispenser drawer slightly to allow the air to move through there. However, if one does not practice good ventilation routines and buildup has occurred, it takes some effort beyond ventilation to get the machine to freshness and then keep it that way with proper ventilation. Thanks for watching and writing!

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Is it that you have to hold the door shut tightly for the machine to show that the door is locked/secure so the cycle can start? If so, it's likely the latch assembly or the door sensor. I hope this helps! Best, DFJ

The water I drain always smells like sewage. Even keeping door open doesnt help. Never had a smell problem with my old top loader. Front loaders are junk.

I have tried every step. The manufacturer replaced my soap and softener dispenser. I’m extremely clean and I have had my LG washer for two years. My problem is that if I leave my clothes for 15 minutes, yes, literally 15 minutes, it smells. Another major problem is no matter what softener product that smells wonderful, the cloths do not smell at all. The technicians have come multiple times and can’t find the problem. That’s why they opted to replace the dispenser. They even programmed the washer to use less soap and increase softener on each load. Unfortunately, the cloths do not smell the softener or the soap. Any suggestions?

Thanks for watching and taking the time to write.
I suspect that the stinkiness is coming from the inner tub. This is not the one that you see through the doorway with all the perforations and fins attached to it. It's the one behind that tub. Over time, if too much laundry product or biologicals have built up, it will create quite a stink.
To find out if this has happened to you, run a regular cycle with no additional clothes but a gallon of bleach water put into the inner tub. Ensure it's hot, and put about a cup of bleach in the water mixture. When you run the machine, if you see suds form, you have hit a deposit with the bleach and are breaking it up. It may take more than one cycle to take care of it.
Once you've got that inner tub cleaned out, as well as the filter we talked about in this episode, you should be able to keep it pristine by just keeping the front door ajar and the product sensor pulled out slightly to ventilate the machine. As well as using a regular washing machine cleaner product from time to time.
Let me know if this solves the issue for you! Best, DFJ
