    Cool new line of knives. I was reading through some of the negative comments. I think some folks miss the point here. Not everyone has access to funds for high quality or high priced knives. Also, not many are knife nuts like us and have the knowledge like most of us do. This knife line is for the common person that enjoys carrying a knife for their everyday tasks like opening packages, opening mail, etc. If they buy one of these knives, it allows them to explore the world of pocket knives, see what they do or don't like, and adjust their next purchase Accordingly. I am thinking that this is a great new line for Walmart. Thanks for showcasing it Beez.

      Well said. And to be real honest, I was intrigued as of the first knife he showed, that Swiss Tech with red accents. I'm a knife guy and have been all my life- carried my first pocket knife at five years old. Will definitely be checking these out if they're reasonably priced. I have a son in first grade who likes knives as much as I do.

      I'm very blessed. Both my wife and I have great jobs and no debt. We worked hard for that. My point being I can buy any knife I want (at the risk of sounding like an arrogant douchebag) but I typically don't spend more than 30 bucks on an edc knife. I have lost them, broken them had them stolen etc etc. That doesn't break my heart like losing a benchmade or spyderco etc. Some people are pragmatic and I think these knives would serve 99% of the knife carrying population. Don't listen to the elitists.

      @@kentuckyboy541 Busted my backside the become debt free. It was worth all the "sacrifice's" When my friends were living large, I stayed focused. Now it's biting them in butt. Vehicles being repo'd, about to be foreclosed on. Buried in credit card debt. Reap what you sow. Now, back on topic. I consider you get what you pay for. I treat my EDC knife like I treat my EDC handgun. Not going to trust my life or anyone I love life to save a few bucks. When you NEED it, it better WORK! Don't be surprised when things get ugly and it fails. At least the money you save can be used to get the brass handles on your coffin.

      @@georgemarcouxjr6192 point taken. I'm talking about a knife for daily use for the general public. I have very good gear as well but I'm just referring to a daily use knife. If it were an eotw scenario I'd feel quite differently. At that point I'm going full on Daniel defense, glock 34 and benchmade anonimus...lol

    My wife bought me the whurdig before Christmas. I was Looking to get a benchmade bugout (which I still ended up buying) but decided to look on Walmart to see what they had in folding knives. I Saw the advertisement for the Swiss Tech line and sent the link to my wife and I got in the mail 3 day later.
    For $30 it’s worth the price. It’s good simple knife. Fits perfect in my hand. I’m not a big fan of fat knives so I was glad that it was the same size as the as bugout and he Kershaw I carry. It’s one of the 5 I switch out daily.

  • @Ajaxykins

    The fixed blade and aluminum handled gerundit are damn near perfect. I love the simplicity, the grinds and profiles made for actual use, and the warm and friendly styling. All that with decent quality and not a bad price. I'm impressed as well!

    I love how current budget knives have dramatically improved. I have never liked budget mult-tools…. Never thought they would take the beating that I hand out. Having said that, I love the first mutlitool that pulls apart, I think it is a great concept. I love the more traditional one as well. Enough thtat I will have to buy one of each knife and one of each tool to check them out.

    I'm kind of a Brand Snob when it comes to my EDC but AUS8 in my opinion is an upper lower end steel. Holds a good edge and easy to sharpen! As long as the heat treat is just right its a decent steel. Just me.

      I agree, though this F5.5 would qualify as high-end for most buyers. It’s a GREAT knife, which does everything I want well. On top of that, it’s built like a small tank, has good steel and should last forever. I particularly like copper/brass/bronze, and the extra weight? I LIKE IT.

    The Takstock looks like a variation on the SOG Baton series of multitool, which has an identical center pliers mechanism with extending handles. The plier design is very similar. The mechanism is unusual, but reviews were mixed on it. The Praktisch is of course a "Wave" style tool. The design patents expired several years ago, so we see a lot more multitools in that style.

    I have some nice higher end knives for hunting and edc, but I keep cheap replaceable folders (and at work I gotta keep the Ontario rat 3 Gobar) in my toolbox at home, my toolbox at work, and in my center console in my truck. You can use them like a pry bar, cut open bags/boxes of parts, scrape with them, hand them to the apprentice (who will undoubtably bring it back chipped up and completely dull) and if it breaks or gets lost, who cares! Cheap knives are just as important and arguably my useful then expensive knives, I wouldn’t use my benchmade to scrape RTV silicone off or pop a stick on wheel weight off, but I’ll do it all day with a cheap folder they sell at Walmart….. or an opinel…. Or the glutton for punishment that is the Ontario Rat 3 gobar.

    • @BeezBlades
      @BeezBlades  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Will said, my friend. Some folks knock on the cheap knives, or the cheaper steel... But you are absolutely correct. I'll use my nicer knives for slicing, but if it comes to scraping and doing super dirty work, I'm definitely going for the budget option. Thank you, brother!

    Wow they put a lot of effort into these, all except for the blade steel. Maybe if they sell well they will eventually upgrade the blade steel. The details are good to go, D-shaped pivots, you often don't get that on knives costing 2-3 times as much. SWISS TECH has always made some neat and durable pocket tools / multi tools. These are definitely worth checking out.
