Real cool stuff.. I feel like goalies always get shortchanged doing solo training - really needing a shooter and ‘ice’ to work on things. Sense Arena VR changes that
Yeah there’s only so much you can do as a goalie so it’s nice to be able to do that solo training session without relying on things like ice or shooters
@@BonesyTV Really an awesome technology. I am not sure which brand of synthetic ice you were on but it seemed pretty smooth. I have seen the Can-ice brand which has two qualities and their upper level makes almost no shavings. Great training tools.
When you catched with the catching glove that seemed too easy. Maybe you're too used to play with that VR setup and know where the shots are coming to or you're just that good... :)
Wow, the pads really slide well on that fake ice! I'd heard it really wasn't very good for goalies but it looks awesome here. Great video as usual Bones!
Hey Dustin, this video is fantastic and I love the ideas of using the full set of gear to get some conditioning in and I really want to get my own set up like this someday
Skates looked smooth & fairly broken in. Hope there’s more to come with how they are working out for you.. I’ve heard mix things regarding True’s longevity/quality in the goalie skates. I’m in the market for new ones & it’s a tough decision (coming from Bauer 9000s)
@@BonesyTV new subscriber. very much interested in your feeling on them. I'm having a hell of a time finding skates that work for my feet. might go True Custom.
Thanks for the subscribe! But if you have a “weird” foot or just can’t find anything that feels right I’d definitely recommend custom. But I’ll get this review going on these and should have some good insight in the next few weeks
Yeah! Makes them a little more comfortable when you don’t have to worry about a screw hitting your knee but it also makes it easier to take apart when I throw them in the wash. Plus you don’t have to worry about them rusting
Can I ask what socks those are? I like how they're tight on the lower part of your leg. I'd really like to start wearing some over my knee pads as the straps sometimes interfere with the leg pad and get pulled loose during rotation.
They’re adidas socks but I think they’re medium instead of large. They do a great job of working like a compression sleeve to hold the knee guards in place
What size did you go with in the TF9, and how does the sizing/fit compare to other off the shelf skates you've used? I found a really good deal on some player TF7s a couple months back and went a size smaller than usual since I had read that they run a little big, but haven't had a chance to use them yet.
I went with a 10 wide but it’s been years since I’ve had a stock skate like this so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. I have heard the player skates fit different but not really sure about these. I ended up putting my foot in a fitting guide at the pro shop here and used that for my sizing
Bones, I’m about to place my order but wanted to know if you see any benefit in getting the 256 vs the 128. I will only be using it for training purposes.
I have the 128 and it works great but I don’t really have too many other VR apps downloaded so if you plan on playing other things and using it for more than just goalie training I’d consider the 256 but the 128 is just fine
What were you using on the headset to prevent it from fogging up on you? Once I get a few minutes into a session, it starts fogging up pretty bad. Any recommendations?
Sure someone could figure out a way that a camera (like xbox kinect) could watch goalie movments and translate those to movements in sense arena. Would be a lot more accurate than current and would take all points of the goalie into account
Yeah it would be nice to be able to track your legs and use your leg pads. I’m sure it could be done like when they do motion tracking for video games but I’m sure it’s a stupid expensive process
@@BonesyTV I just bought the TF9 too after your vids. I found everyone saying the sizing was huge would work to my advantage, as i have very wide bones on the front of my foot, so I think i can move from my bauer 8.5EE with two pairs of thick socks to 7.5 W with true!
Does anyone know what Pacific Rink bag he is using? I have the passau goalie bag and it's too big for me with the leg pads inside. I rather keep all my gear in a bag and then leg pads separate over my shoulder. Wasnt sure if he was using the player bag or the goalie bag without the leg pads inside.
@@BonesyTV Oh thanks for the responce. I didnt know if it would be too saggy without. But great to know. Ill probably do the same. Great video btw. Thanks for the content!
Overall they stand a little taller so you get easier pushes from the butterfly and they’re a little lighter too. But I’ll dive into the differences in my full review in a couple weeks
Have faith in Jesus He is there for you He is not against you. He will heal you and your family stray away from all immoral sins and turn to Christ He is coming very soon spread the Gospel of Christ Jesus.❤️✝️you are amazing
I’m not impressed with anything true. The Lefevre factory has a “no estimate” now for a wait time. Already been waiting 20+ weeks. This company doesn’t give a shit about what they sell
Yeah waiting for new gear is brutal and those super long wait times are tough. The product itself is great though. Hopefully you don’t have to wait much longer on your order
@@BonesyTV Lefevre builds a good product yes. Unfortunately my original order attempt was blocked out by true. I had to order after the switch over, 8 week delivery went to 19-20 weeks. My dealer called me and said they no longer have a eta from true. They have been told maybe by the end of the year. I wasted $3k for nothing
Damn. Yeah that’s a huge bummer. I’m glad I got mine pretty early on. Hopefully they can figure out a way to get production time down without outsourcing overseas
Dude... you do such a great job with these videos! Legit!
Haha thanks dude!! Definitely feel like I’m getting a little better with each video. But really I’m just trying to keep up with you 😅

Yeah there’s only so much you can do as a goalie so it’s nice to be able to do that solo training session without relying on things like ice or shooters
This is very cool. Love how real it is that you drop the puck and shoot it back.
Yeah I meant to mention that too! At one point I thought I could extend the stick out to poke the puck away
@@BonesyTV Really an awesome technology. I am not sure which brand of synthetic ice you were on but it seemed pretty smooth. I have seen the Can-ice brand which has two qualities and their upper level makes almost no shavings. Great training tools.
Yeah I’ve heard a lot of great things about their synthetic. I definitely want to try them out at some point
Very cool! This was interesting. I think it's great that you're willing to try new technology with your hockey playing.
Man this is super dope. Crazy technology, does it throw you off at all not physically feeling the puck in your glove or hit your blocker?
Haha sometimes it’s a little weird. But the controllers vibrate when you make a save so there’s something there
@@BonesyTV I figured as much haha still wild!
How do you get your pads to sit so high, I'm struggling with mine sitting low on the skate

Haha lots and lots of practice. But still a looooong ways to go
Wow, the pads really slide well on that fake ice! I'd heard it really wasn't very good for goalies but it looks awesome here. Great video as usual Bones!
Thanks buddy!! And the slide definitely wasn’t perfect. Got caught up a couple times but still more slide than I was expecting (which was zero)

Thanks! I really wish every goalie had access to something like this.
@@BonesyTV I am looking at doing something like in my shed next to the outdoor rink
That sounds AWESOME!! Just make sure you have enough room. Wouldn’t want to reach out for a VR puck and accidentally punch a wall
Yea I got a 10 by 15 shed and a 20 by 25 rink for the back

Hi Bonesy! Is there any special reason why you have laces instead screws at the knee pads? Thx!

I didn’t have a solution for the fog. I just had to take it off and clear it but I’m sure there’s some way to prevent it
How do you recommend the tf9 goalie skates. My True two Peace skates are broken and need a new par.
They straight up broke?? I haven’t had any issues like that in my trues. Actually I don’t think I’ve ever had that happen in any skate
Yeah. The riviots straight up fell out the on e practice

@BonesyTV They feel good. I got them heat-molded and they’re my first 2 piece skate. Light and comfortable with just a stinger off of the toe cap.
Nice!! Can’t ask for much from a skate
