I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
Love how happy you are Malcom! You always bring awesome recipes to us guys! I’m glad you went over the propane side of grilling today! Don’t have a smoker yet.

That steak in a pan, flash seared and put in the oven to finish would be great as well.. but that steak butter is a super idea! Thanks, Malcom!

I own a Traeger and love it for being a great smoker and an overall quality piece of equipment.. That being said, I worked fine dining for a decade and got spoiled with good steaks.. I got love for super high heat sears or salamanders. I like a dark brown caramelized crust all over so I smoke my steaks, or cook them sous vide and then sear them hot as hell on my Arteflame grill.

Malcom, those steaks looks great! I have a Traeger grill, as well as a Kenmore propane grill and an upright cylindrical propane powered smooker/grill (I think it is a Webber). I use all of them at various times for achieving the best results for a particular cook, and I must say that I really LOVE my Traeger pellet grill for most things! I need to get one of those grill grates that you demonstrated in this video. I am always looking for ways to improve the quality and appearance of the foods that I cook or smoke on my equipment. Great video. I know when I was shopping for my bbq 11 years ago. I wanted smoke flavour. Yet I wanted also the power of a gas grill with excellent seating. Yes a tossup between a traeger and a Weber. Both have there pros and cons in my opinion. When I sear a steak I have my grill at 600 f then when flip put it on a lower temp side of the grill. In the end I bought a Weber summit s670. 11 years later and still going strong. It is a hybrid grill. It can do smokes. Not bad, but not great. I'm saving up for a gatorpit.
