Thank you so much for giving these cows help and relief from some of the worst sore hooves I have ever seen, hoofed animals just cannot live on wet ground all the time they must stand on some dry ground once in a while or thrush will happen and a lot of other problems.

The cows left the front of the crush without obvious fear. They just stepped out, looked around, and ambled away in no particular hurry. That speaks well of their experience of being trimmed in the crush. If they had been hurt or frightened, they would have either been frozen in place or bolted away.
Very interesting to see how your trimming guides healing over time. Thanks for showing it.

1: have you ever made a mistake that greatly affected the cow? If so what was that like and how did you go about fixing it?
2: how is the smell? I would assume it is horrible to people not used to it but have you gotten used to it?
3: what was the worst condition you’ve seen a cow in. We’re you able to help it or was it so far gone you couldn’t do anything about it?
4: have there been any situations where you were going to record but the cow was in such poor condition or the situation you were in was so bad you couldn’t post it?
Thanks for the videos much love!

I may not be the owner of this channel but I have experience in treating cows feet and here is what I think.
      1. Absolutely he would have made a mistake, but not to the point where he would've greatly affected a cow. Worst case scenario is if the infection has penetrated enough into her bloodstream, she would need to have a claw amputated by a qualified vet. I have seen 2 in my lifetime, but the cows are administered a numbing agent before doing so.
      2. You definently get use to the smell after awhile but sometimes I still gag so no doubt he probably does lol
      3. I think the 1st answer would suffice
      4. There would be a certain degree I'm sure as to what he can and can't post, as it ensures the protection of the owner of the animals to avoid backlash from uneducated people. For them to ask for this man's services is a testament for the care of their animals in the first place, but whether he requested his services far too late or not is another story.
      Hopefully this helps.

@@Maori4LyfeNZ thanks mate for the insight.😃 My grandparents were dairy farmers with around 100 head on 400 acres on the gold coast , Queensland Australia when I was a kid in the 70s and eighties. Ive worked around a few milking sheds. I'm miss those simple easy times, I reckon you just get used to the smells like you said but every now and then it's definitely gamey in there😀 the biggest thing that worried me as a little kid was having my toes stepped on when walking in amongst the cattle trying to help my grandmother or to say goodnight.😅 My grandparents use to scratch them on the back and talk to them while they were being milked and give them grain and molasses syrup . Their cows were well looked after and were usually pretty chilled out in the shed. Happy cows produce the goods in both quality and quantity. I reckon grandad gave his cows as much attention as he gave us but he was a pretty decent bloke and I really wish I could have a cuppa tea with him again.i don't know any professional who doesn't make a mistake from time to time.its what they do next that counts.

Have you ever considered installing a water tank and a pressure washer so that you can wash the cow's hoof's prior to cutting them. It might also help in washing down the shoot. The tank could hold enough water as a reserve and be topped up at most customers.

I have finally discovered why I love your videos. You are a human version of a Holstein milk cow. Loving, gentle with a silly side. I love your compassion for these cows. I grew up going to farms with my Dad when he did AI, he allowed me to help and get pooped splattered and love the farmers. Many farm wives would try to usher me into the house to spare me from the life in the barn. Nope, had to be with Dad. I would have missed the smells and sounds of these magnificent creatures. The miracle of life and understanding all of it. Thank you Dad and thank you Graeme Parker for allowing me into your world.
