Cows that old are often creatures of habit. She is a suckler cow so not like a dairy cow but either sort of cow get used to the routine of life and I think its almost a comfort to them. I used to look after cattle and they get used to their owner, the colour of their clothing, the way they walk. If a different person arrives in the field it disrupts them. Its odd how sensitive they are to little things.

  • @ghm692

Never did I imagine, that one day, I would find so much peace and comfort watching a total stranger in another country, tending to cow’s hooves. Sometimes my family members catch me watching these and they always say “What are you watching?!” There’s just something about watching you work that sits right in my soul. It’s such an honorable profession to give these sentient beings relief from pain. Cows are just big joyful toddlers, and I am so happy for them when they leave the crush lighter in spirit. And, with the understanding that you were doing your best to help them feel better. I used to work with a middle school girl that had autism. There was a dairy farm next to her house, and she always wanted to walk over and visit the cows. They would always approach her and let her pet them. It was almost as if they had their own secret understanding. Those cows would never let me get near them, not to mention touch them. I hope there is a place in heaven for cows, because they are such gentle and tolerant beings. They endure so much and mostly for the benefit of humans. If there is a cow heaven, I’m sure there is a picture of you there, and all of the kind farmers who did their best to give them some kind of peace. Thank you for your videos and sharing your knowledge. You make the world a better place. God bless xo

Harriet reminds me of Tiny, one of the cows my family owned when I was a kid. She produced and raised very fine calves for years and put up with small children sitting on her. Eventually, she retired and became our pet cow. She lived to be a very old cow.

Just before you said how much you love your job and why, I was asking myself why it is so interesting to watch videos of cow hooves getting cut?
And my answer was: because you love what you do, and you are transporting this love, the passion, the respect, the conciousness of your ability to help sore cows, the experience, the fun, the dirt and everything else in every video.
Thank you very much for being as lovely as you are! ❤

If you ever want to do another video on mental health stuff, I'd love it. I struggle with depression, and have followed your channel for a while. A while back you mentioned your journey with mental health, and it really helped me somehow. Laminitis can be managed with diet as it’s often caused by excess sugar - ponies prone to laminitis were bred to manage on poor, rough moorland or hills and cannot cope with lush Green spring grass in managed fields!

All I wanted to do was love on Harret! Was surprised you didn't pet her. As always you make me proud of the way you treat the cows you work on. You can tell you love your job.

My 10 year old daughter's favorite animal is a cow. My daughter and I have become big fans and love to snuggle up together and watch you take such good care of her favorite animals. "Fall Into You" has become 'our song'. We love your humor and excellent explanations. Your drone shots make us want to visit Scotland. Take care. -Mike and Ellie.

I absolutely love your videos so dearly! I’ve never worked with cows, never lived on a farm, never had anything whatsoever to do with hoof trimming, but I have a special place in my heart for you and your channel. I want you to know that because you reach a vast audience of people, hoof trimming involvement or not, and you’re doing a super cool thing here. If you gave my little daughter, Lorna from Michigan, a shoutout in one of your videos, I know it would make her entire year. Thank you again for everything you do, we love you!

Love, Love, Love all of it. The educational component. The banter between you and Kevin & Craig. The video and music quality. The kindness to these beautiful creatures. The skills that gives you the opportunity to make all of our day better. Graciously inviting us along to be part of your day. Not sure why my husband’s name shows up, but it’s me watching. Karine. A 52 y old Canadian retired RN. Also, I’m Waiting for my HGP travel coffee mug 😍. We are doing renovations and painting to our backyard and deck. My husband commented that I must be going into Hoof GP withdrawal. Darn it, he was right. 😂. I am so happy when I point out a block is going to be needed before you say it! Keep trimming fine sir!

It is truly nice to know that you read your comments,"fans"
I always wondered because your following has really grown.
I remember when you had time to respond.
My love was Quarter Horses, many years holding a horse for the farrier and watching how he trimed, made corrections.
We showed our horses so they were done every 6 weeks.
Had a foundered horse colt bought him that way, being new to the industry we didnt realize it , but almost became experts lol lol after trying to keep him sound and to the shows lol, my husband and i could spot a founded horse a mile away lol lol but learned sorta of the hard way lol.
He did become an AQHA Champion through hard work keeping him sound and to the shows
I laugh because it was our start in the industry and we learned alot "the hard way" right from the get go lol.
Love your channel your fantastic humor, love of your work and family .
Thank you from a great gramna 82 years young, who loves what you do.
Bless you and your beautiful family🙏🕊🙏

I don’t comment on videos. But I am always looking to find your videos. They always put a smile on my face. Thank you for all you do. Not just for the cattle, but for bringing us this amazing content. One day the Mrs and I are going to make it there. We want to see Scotland and all its beauty. That’s for sharing the sights as well.
