Thanks alot for your time and I appreciate it. New to PBX and voip in general. I have FreePBX up and running on Vultr cloud and I've created two extensions and registered two phones without issue. One of the phones is matrix sparsh vp 110 (from our local ISP), and the other is my laptop with MicroSIP softphone installed. Still now experimenting with FreePBX and enjoy learning from this series.
What is home voip? They can go over internet, over dedicated private networks, depends, just network is needed. You can even do SIP trunks on your own if you have some kind of vpn or private network between pbxes.
@@wiziekShould have used the term residential voip, like Vonage, instead of home voip. Guessing large corporations use dedicated private networks for their SIP trunks?
I'm sure noobs appreciate this series, but I have to say, one video every 2 or more weeks, I mean we are almost 5 MONTHS into this "tutortial" and we still have not configured a trunk??? at this pace it will be 2023 by time it is completed. I know you are dragging thisout to make sure youtube gives you income, but you know you still get the same income if you release 2 or so a week, else youll get far less income becuase folks will just go elsewhere to learn how to configure freepbx, in a far far far shorter time.
@@edwardogarcia6669 it doesn't make this moot, the GUI is pretty much identical to FreePBX v16 , I made a v16 freepbx phone system for my business using this guide

On POTS lines all the lines in hunting group can show as main number on caller ID. (Outbound)
Have that setup with ATT and Comcast.
Just for clarity...a PRI normally comes in as 2 pairs(trx/rcv) which is multiplexed to 23b+d. Same for a T-1 but that's 24 channels with no D channel.
Where i live (Denmark) all sort of PRI and BRI are being phased out this year. It's not used that much anymore.
RE backup, would it not be better to have backup Internet connectivity than via backup PRI/POTS lines? Fantastic video series - learning so much!
Do the SIP trunks use the internet, like home VOIP does?
Some probably do, but not all

@@lorcster6694 is it finished I got impression more to come, but since its over 1 year now and freepbx 16 is out for long time, it makes this moot
