U joint can cause a clunk. Also you can tru putting grease in the slip yoke. If that solves the clunk issue for you for a while then you know you have a wore out slip yoke. Replace it.
@@TIMEISMONEY-BOSSMAN the u joint(s) can yes..mine are the original with the type you had. I only have a clunk going from P to R unless i already went from D to R..sometimes barely from 2nd to 3rd when driving and when slowing at 10mph i have the ''bump''. I have a 2001 Suburban with part time 4x4
@@TIMEISMONEY-BOSSMAN whats crazy is how well the vehicle still operates. I mean everything works great, the motor doesnt tick, transmission shifts smooth. I have to turn off the traction control so it doesnt cut out but I am so impressed how well this vehicle still drives straight down the road. She took it to florida twice this year (from albany ny) I think she bought it with 290k
Is this the reason my 97 tahoe LS is shaking as soon as I hit 30mph? Tahoe runs and drives just fine besides this problem.
Very possible.
my 2001 chevy Tahoe" rwd drive" I hear rattling noise off gas pedal at 15-20 mph.
The last 2 locks when did you installed them
Were the u joints causing the ''clunk'' ?
Was the ''clunk'' gone after you replaced the u joints?

Finding the right fit u joints?
I dont remember. I used what the local parts store gave me.
Will be doing this to my moms 04 tahoe with 301,000 miles. They looks like factory ones because I can see the plastic tit
