    If you don’t mind me asking, did you book your role in queen sugar from actors access, I noticed in one of the clips on actors access that you had a clip for queen sugar?
    Also, do you still use these sites with having an agent? If so, what if auditions conflict with one your agent may want to send you for, what do you do in this case, if what you see (if you still use this) on a site is more appealing to you than the one your agent may be sending you to?

    • @NikkoAustenSmith
      @NikkoAustenSmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      ayeee ! thank you so much 🧡🙌🏾
      I booked my role on QS through my previous agent, who sent me the audition through actors access. With my previous agency, I was still also self submitting through actors access because they were a smaller agency. Now, with my current team of representatives, I don’t self submit. My team handles all of that ☺️
      When I was self submitting, I didn’t run into the issue of conflicting auditions, but if that were to have happened, I would have asked to send in a self tape for the audition that wasn’t as appealing to me :)

      @@NikkoAustenSmith ah okay thank you! Follow up question, if you don’t mind me asking, what made you or lead you to switch representation and how was that transition process and did you have to reach out to other people yourself?

    • @NikkoAustenSmith

      @@nicolebethanyonwuka7999 after my first season on QS, I realized it may be time to move to LA! A manager in LA reached out to my current reps at the time, and so I reached out to other agents and managers in LA that I thought would be a great fit! I got meetings, and came to meet them in person in LA. Once I was signed to my LA representatives, it was a pretty smooth transition. My contract with my SE reps was up so it was perfect timing!

      For actors access, you can’t submit directly to agents and managers. I believe the only way for agents and managers to view your profile is if you send them a direct link. ✨
      And yes! It’s definitely possible to book roles in NC. I booked my first paid film off of 800Casting call Unbridled. It’s now on Amazon Prime. Also, there’s tons of crime re enactment shows that shoot in NC! I booked homicide hunter off of a self submission via Actors Access. It’s definitely possible!

    Thank you so much for this video. I recently signed with my second agency here in South Carolina and the agency did mention 800casting and that we had to pay for it. I have so many questions to ask honestly. Put one question is have you ever worked with an agency or is this how you get work only?
    Secondly, have you every been to any conferences in la,Chicago or New York? Because my agency is saying I have to pay $700 per conference to attend to even be seen by other agency which if they choose me I get contracted by them and get bigger jobs through these agencies. Please let me know Because I want to make the best possible choice for myself.
    Is spending the $700 worth it or should I just promote myself through these sites and get work that way

    • @NikkoAustenSmith
      @NikkoAustenSmith  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you for watching and for your question! ✨
      first off, congrats on signing with your new agency! You definitely don’t NEED an agent to get work, especially if you’re just starting out. you can submit yourself on actors access or 800Casting and book work that way! BUT for the more juicy roles, higher paying gigs, etc, it’s really hard to get into the room without having representation.
      I’ve NEVER had to pay or go to conferences to be seen or cast. honestly, that sounds a bit suspicious. have you done research on your new agency? or have you researched the conferences to see if they’re legit? I would not spend the $700. if the agency you just signed with is legit, they should be able to get you auditions without you having to pay to go to conferences. ✨

    • @everythingcatevlogs
      @everythingcatevlogs ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NikkoAustenSmith the agency is called bellah modeling agency located in Columbia sc. I wish i could send pictures on here but sadly youtube isn't that advanced yet. The conferences are just multiple agencies scouting people from different "mother" agencies. I have worked with John casablanca modeling and acting agency in NC but that was a waste of money and don't advice anyone to go there but this agency is dedicated to getting us work, viewed, and keep us busy.. but it's not paid gigs we just take the unpaid gigs to get exposure

    • @NikkoAustenSmith
      @NikkoAustenSmith  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@everythingcatevlogs okay! yeah i definitely don’t recommend anyone trying john casablanca! hmmm… so the agency won’t submit you for paid work?
      if so, and if you didn’t sign a contract with them, i’d look for representation elsewhere. there’s Evolution Talent agency that represents NC, SC, and GA. They were my first agency and never required me to attend conferences mother agencies. They only submitted me for, and got me paid work.
      if you decide to stay with them, i’d say try to self submit as much as you can for paid gigs on actors access! ✨

    • @everythingcatevlogs
      @everythingcatevlogs ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NikkoAustenSmith yes they will submit us for paid work.. I haven't done anything yet because in still building up my portfolio. I will be settling up my 800 casting profile today. My agency just went to NYC conference this week and got contracts for models through Ford, muse and Supreme agencies. They also work with jcpenney and belk but I haven't seen anyone be picked for that recently but they just picked people for a porshe campaign qhich is exciting. I'm just waiting to be picked for something I guess. I like the agency so far I do because it's definitely nothing like JC in NC at all. We have "classes" yes but it's mainly like rehearsals before an event we take part in. Other than that she will have us going to casting calls each month... I did look into the agencies you mentioned as well.

    Hi, I have some questions about the Casting Networks website. When I do a casting call search, the listings that come up are so "random"; is there a way to sort the search results in a certain order like the due date, city or whatever? Is there a way to save or "favor" the listings I'm interested in, so I can come back to check them without doing another search again? If not, is there a way to just email a listing to myself, so at least I got some place to save the listings I am interested in?

    • @NikkoAustenSmith
      @NikkoAustenSmith  ปีที่แล้ว

      hi there!
      It looks like there's no way to sort the results of a search. I think they normally appear in the order they were posted in, so generally the newer castings will pop up first. BUT you can save the search after you press "filter" on the right hand side, underneath that, there's a white box with blue letters that pops up that says "save this search"! You can call each search a different name. Hope this helps!
