    Love this song, but I think people were recommending "Run BTS" by BTS dance practice & Busan performance. This is "Run" by BTS since this video is the middle of a storyline called Bangtan Universe 💜

    I know you guys are just having fun but it hit me wrong when you kinda giggled about an ARMY crying about this song. I know you didn't mean it as a negative thing but I want to give you some context on why it irked me. BTS has a running storyline (called the BU) and they used MVs, liner notes, concert stages and even twitter accounts and tweets to tell it. The story was about seven teens/young adults and their lives and friendship growing up with each other. The story deals with poverty, abandonment, mental health, physical abuse, self-harm, suicide, grief, alcohol abuse and murder. Many ARMY have unfortunately dealt with these issues so the songs attached to the BU are very emotional for them. So when an ARMY says a song is super important to them and/or makes them cry, something like this is usually behind it. As I said I know there was no mean intent behind what you said but many ARMY aren't laughing when they say BTS saved their lives because I have a few moots who wouldn't be here if a song of BTS' didn't make them reconsider NOT being here.

      I agree, but I try to give new listeners a pass, because the song sounds fun & parts of the video look fun & if you don't have any context, the parts that represent the trauma just seem like flashbacks or something.
      But I appreciate your explanation, because it gives them the background to dig deeper into the storyline if they want. Borahae. 💜

      @@lavenderbluemama953 That's why I said I know it wasn't malicious. But I just wanted to give them context because they seem to always start by reading comments on the vids and a lot of different songs have helped ARMY thru some tough times so I didn't want to see them keep making people talking about "the song made them cry" a running joke kind of thing when its very serious for many people.

    Like others have said, the song "Run BTS" is probably what was recommended. Their song Run BTS is also sometimes confused with their variety/game show also called Run BTS. This video is part of the BTS Universe storyline that is really interesting and timeless. The 7 boys played 7 different characters going through trials and sufferings through life with one charactee trying to change their sitiations. It is so well developed and beautifully filmed and actually has multiple hidden refernces to Nirvana, like album names and song lyrics and posters and shirts and even a random Rolling Stone magazine laying around with Nirvana cover. Its a story of their character's stories interwined with each other and suffering apart from one another, but always better together. Very interesting stuff, but time consuming to watch it all. One of the members just released a song a couple weeks ago while still in the military that even referenced the BU in the song title.

    This song was indeed the part of BU(Bangtan universe) their own fictional universe consists of webtoon, games, theories etc. This song is second part. The first part is Song called I Need U. You have to watch it..... it's too good

    btw, there is also a song titled “Run BTS” (2022) on their Proof album and a “Run BTS” which is their own variety show. sometimes new people confused them to this “Run” (2015) which is from The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, pt. 2 (part of Bangtan Universe or BU).
    the song in the credit is “Butterfly” by BTS also.

    Just a comment that the fact that more recent group videos haven't had storylines is more complicated, I think. COVID hit and everything between that time and when they went on group hiatus for military service/solo projects was totally done by the seat of their pants. They were supposed to do the Map of the Soul tour (which was based on an album that couldn't have been more story driven, or the videos more cinematic) throughout 2020, and then Jin/SUGA were to enter the military and the hiatus they're on now was to have happened starting then (end of 2020). But COVID hit, the tour was delayed and eventually canceled...and they marked time basically, releasing singles in the hopes the world would open up and allow them to do a tour. It didn't happen. But if you look at many of the members' solo projects, you can still see that they are very story-driven - RM's two albums, Yoongi's album and concerts, j-hope's JITB album, V's album/videos told a whole story together as well as individual vignettes, Jimin's first album...even V's single "FRI(END)S" was a story from start to finish, with alternative storylines. The group HAS said that one reason for the hiatus was to grow as individuals, and that they were burnt out and not exactly sure what stories to tell. What happened with COVID was really hard on them. I think they'll go back to being story-driven once they return. We know for sure that they're going to celebrate 10 years since the era of "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life" - Part 2 of which this song, "RUN," is on.

    So I don't know if this is the case with this reaction but BTS have 2 different songs with the word "Run". Run by BTS (this song) and Run BTS by BTS- a song released in 2022. Run BTS doesn't have a music video, but it does have a live performance and a dance practice. The songs are easily confused by reactors because they don't realize Run and Run BTS are 2 different songs. This music video is great but it's part of a larger narrative. It's part of the BU aka Bangtan Universe- a fictional storyline that runs through many BTS music videos and other content since 2015. So if you are interested let us know and someone can make you a playlist of all the videos related to the storyline.

      they are still a boyband, the label is not a curse. wish yall would stop acting like bts has to drop labels to be accepted. people without prejudice will like them no matter what they're referred to as. there's nothing wrong with being a kpop group, or having female fans, or having pop songs in one's discography, or writing love songs, they have been and done all those things.

    • @sushmo7100
      @sushmo7100 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Callisto_52Hz You are free to state your opinion just like I am. I will repeat that BTS does not need to be referred as boy band. Why was Coldplay never called a boy band. They started their career when they were young too. There is a stigma attached to that time but more than that, BTS are a group of artists.

    • @Callisto_52Hz
      @Callisto_52Hz 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@sushmo7100 boybands (as referred to in the west) are vocally focused groups and usually every member participates. they also usually have choreography and sometimes include rap. coldplay have one lead singer and the rest of them just play instruments so they are referred to as an alternative rock band with the likes of imagine dragons, linkinpark etc. not to mention, the fact that bts were put together by their label, trained and marketed by the kpop industry makes it hard for the west to not see them as a boyband. although i think the term "boygroup" would suit them more because it's definition is more flexible since it has adapted to the changing system of the kpop industry. the boyband term is not gonna leave them as long as they promote in the west and that is the point of reference the western public has to them. so a lot of yalls "don't call them a boyband" comments just come off as annoying for anyone who is getting into them.

    1:30 yes they had a whole storyline that ran through their music videos, called the Bangtan Universe. The MVs included in this storyline say so in the MV description dropdowns and include some of the Japanese MVs as well. This is what helped get a lot of ARMY invested was the storyline and theorizing what was really happening. Then there were books released called "The Notes" that had like entries about each character so ARMY could try to piece together the story along with what the MVs showed. Also a mobile phone game was released called "BTS Universe Story" that also gave new insight to the storyline. BTS ans a lot of kpop groups are MORE thn just music: they are heavily invested in the performances, music videos, even fictional storylines, etc and this ALL works in combination to intrigue people into becoming fans! The BU helped get me hooked and I loved reading different ARMY's theories or intrepretations for the storyline. That is what that one comment meant: they wish BTS would add more to their fictional storyline or do another new story. It was such a fun time!

    Thank you for the reaction. Love it! But I think there was some confusion as there always is when Run Bts is mentioned. There are 3 variations to the name.
    1. “Run” by BTS, which is what you just reacted to. Part of the BTS universe
    2. “RUN BTS” by BTS which is what we actually wanted you to react to. The dance practice or Live since there’s no mv.
    3. “Run! BTS” which is BTS variety game show.
    So next time, please react to #2. Thank you so much again.

    As many said, this mv is part of the BU and not really related to the song itself. If you want to dive into the BU, you got to do a little research to do it right or else you wouldn't stand a chance to understand (but of course you can watch and enjoy the visuals and music because the music is still good and worth a listen). I have seen it all in order and I would not have understood what was going on without the help of ARMY.
    I have seen other reactors do the BU and develop their own theories but then watch explanation videos. Xceleste does a good job of breaking it down. The BU covers many heavy topics so trigger warnings and a little empathy as it can be sensitive to some. Edit to say, Thanks for your reaction!

    Hey guys! 👋🏻 Thanks for reacting even through the credits song ("Butterfly").
    You're right! They're very young in this MV... and it's not the song people meant to recommend... No worries, though!
    Here's why it gets confusing...
    - "Run" = This song & music video
    - "Run! BTS" = The name of their online variety show
    - "Run BTS" = A different, more recent song (with rock influences)
    Hope you guys will check out the latter.
