Beautiful sounding lute. I'm working on this sonata currently on my 13 string guitar (will be transitioning back to lute). I like the slurs that you did for the quick runs on the B section. I may have to steal/borrow your ideas.
Lovely tune :) Brings your right back to the good part of the baroque times ;) When I hear it, I see aristocrats dancing their dignified dances during some feast. Such a light and heart lifting melody. Nice clip as well.
the music is so good that I had to download this presentation, the melody is very nice, you should upload more content, the truth is that your technique is very good in the lute.
@@gilbert6023 Hi, VSL is a very individual thing. It depends on your hand anatomy, technique, skill, repertoire, lute construction, etc. I would not recommend VSL without seeing a student personally. I own several instruments and each one has a different VSL. Sound depends on it only partially, and a bigger instrument may sound inferior to a smaller one. There are so many factors like, barring, soundboard thickness, proportions, type of woods, weight, stiffness and many other, that considering which VSL would be better is pointless. I really recommend meeting a teacher who could advice what is suitable in a given case. However most of the known Baroque lutes have VSL around 70 cm. Good luck :)
@@Lutnista thanks for your answer !! I have a ten course Renaissance lute 62.5 cm with three Theorbe Basses individuell lengh. First i Had Renaissance Tuning G,. But i Tried d Minor Barock Tuning, and Still got IT, with Gut Strings. It's quite good... I ordered a 13 course Barock Luth, and It's ready to buy, and i choose 66 cm...cause i learned classical guitar, and my left Arm is Bit Handicap cause of Metal Plates inside... I researched a Lot in books, Internet, and could at least find one or two original Luth with around 66 cm... I Hope IT will BE alright to Play and Suits me... I ve a teacher too... See you in your Videos, this is great to listen and watch !!! Austria is where i roam
Beautiful. Masterfully played by a great master!
excellent interpretation with superb technique. Well done Jarek.
wow, such a demanding Gigue. It looks so simple and in fact is a so complex piece. This is the best performance I know!!
Thanks for playing this. Weiss makes me really happy.
Very musical playing. It's a welcome sight to finally see baroque lute played with the proper historical right-hand technique.
Many thanks, I never tire of Weiss.
