Paula Badosa is amazing. Crazy how no one talks about her in this comment section. Only Sabalenka this Sabalenka that. Full praise on Paula Badosa for bageling the number 1 seed!
Tbh it really depends on sabalenka hands, whether errors or winners coming out of it, that's just how her game is. Badosa didn't win the match, Sabalenka lost it...
Because most people are against the overall Spanish/Latino (name). I know this as fact due to research. However, Badosa is new in the rising rankings, while Sabalenka has been in the top rankings for a while so people will recognize her more. But even as Badosa won Indian Wells, you are right: it's just about everyone else but Paula being hyped. But it does appear poor Aryna fell apart in the second set: I love her. But I do support Paula and other Spanish-named players more than others generally.
@@tottenhum1867 it has always been like that for big hitting players like ostapenko too, a lot more winners than their opponent but far more unforced errors as well...
Perfect description of the match! Badosa's mental toughness is up there with the best. I think she's one of the hot favourites to win these WTA finals.
I don't think it is very unlikely, despite being both in the last places of the WTA ranking among the 8 finalists. their the last months have been outstandingly superb.
You may think Sabalenka with all power, pace, speed & finesse should easily dominate the tour. Tennis is still pretty much a mental sport. The player who can rise to the occasion, stay in the present & focus on the current point while keeping emotions in check will most certainly have higher chance of sealing a win
Finesse? She hasn’t got any. And you also need a brain, variety and the ability to play consistently without unforced errors . . Not only power and pace. That’s why she’s not dominating.
Paula Badosa Gibbert in this match proved why she is WTA 1000 Indiana Wells champion. Paula Badosa is incredible. Of course Sabalenka didn't stand a chance against Badosa. Sabalenka played her best, but Badosa was simply far too much for her to handle. Paula's easy straight sets win against Sabalenka was to be expected, as Sabalenka has nothing in her play style besides her strength. Also Sabalenka is mentally weak. Aryna Sabalenka always struggles against any opponent in big tournaments. She is only capable of winning small tournaments. Paula Badosa Gibbert is capable of winning any kind of tournaments. Also Paula Badosa Gibbert under pressure plays far better than Sabalenka. And this match is clear proof of that.
@@notis6107 You do realize that bigger tournaments than Indiana Wells are Grand Slams? And that Sabalenka doesn't have any Grand Slam tittles nor any WTA 1000 level tittles, right? So shut your bullshit speaking mouth. You simply are butthurt, that Badosa defeated your favourite tennis player.
Congratulations Paula. You are a real fighter and you demonstrate that tennis is not only a matter of power but also a matter of mental strength and strategy. It is good for tennis to see players who win because they are thinking. Aryna has work to do on her mind set and on her ability to adapt her game to her opponents.
Paula has improved her groundstrokes to near precision. With that improvement comes great returns even with the pounding strength of Sabalenka. She deserved the win! My new favorite in women's tennis!
First set, at 4:2 Sabalenka led with a game point after great shot emphasised by a slow motion replay. Then, all of a sudden it was 4:3 as Badosa must have broken that service game. How did it happen? This was the pivotal moment of the match where Badosa turned it around. And we can't even know how that happened. Can WTA get someone know how a tennis match is played in charge of the editing?
I've commented before about the WTA's poor presentation of these highlights. Some of it I think is them avoiding showing the players' unforced errors and just bad play and shot selection. Sabalenka had 31 unforced errors, 7 double faults and only won 3 of her 8 service games. She also out and out quit in the last 4 games. You'd never know it from watching this.
Paula Badosa is the real deal, She has a mental understanding of her physical capabilities... constructing and executing her power ground strokes in a timely manner.. Paula's shot selection and anticipation helped her stay in competitive level.. She maintained good composure through out the match and demonstrated a very solid game plan..I have seen her game on IW and today, point to a strong suggestion that she could win a multiple grand slam and dominate womens tennis in a not distant future..Congratulations Paula..Great victory!!
A pitiful showing by the top seed in losing all composure, as Badosa hung tough. Sabalenka's one and only attempt at changing it up was a loopy drop shot that Badosa managed to get to for an easy put away.
If you watched these highlights without the score line, you’d think Sabalenka won. You guys showed WAY more winners from her than Badosa - which makes no sense. 🙄
Sabalenka makes more beautiful winners, but also more unforced errors. So its expected more highlights from her even with badosa being more solid overall
It's been a long time since I saw Sabaryna having this kinda mental break-down after losing the 1st set and the unforced errors and double faults count wasn't balanced with winners and aces then it's a fair bagel.
Paula Badosa is doing very well! Ever since the clay season this year Badosa has been on fire! She has been building her form and fighting for the points. That’s how you get it done.
