Melanie Gibb speaks with police in Arizona about the Daybell case

- CHANDLER, Arizona -- Police in Arizona have released gigabytes of video interviews and other documents related to their investigation into the homicide of Charles Vallow, the former husband of Lori Vallow Daybell.
The documents came Tuesday after a Grand Jury indicted Daybell in June for conspiracy to murder for the July 11, 2019 shooting death of Vallow. Daybell's brother Alex Cox initially told Chandler Arizona Police he shot and killed Vallow in self-defense, but investigators say the evidence does not support the claim.

Anyone remember her first interview with Idaho News ? She spoke of how much she loved Lori & Chad ? Her eyes filled with passion, but now she sounds like she's backing away. You couldn't stop Alex Cox, Lori or Chad from killing everybody in sight. But don't blame Melanie Gibb. When things got real weird and Lori demanded Melanie support it all, Melanie got the heck out of there. And it has been ongoing for 2 to 3 years. So by now Melanie is traumatized along with all of us following. I've waited 3 years for the police to catch up to the crimes and criminals.

I'm sure initially she was but 2 years in answering 5 billion questions you begin to grow to a place of numbness. It happens. Blessed is he or she whose never faced a trauma so huge and you haven't ever had to experience such to be aware of this. Not to mention, who we are in front of people we aren't close with, is one person... one "mask" for social times... and in our private time we are emotional beings-some of us. I'm just like this. I could tell someone all about the severe horrible and excruciating abuse I endured as a small child at the hands of a man.... without a tear shed or fleck of emotion. I've told it so many times. But, with my family, those I TRUST, KNOW AND LOVE AND KNOW THEY LOVE ME, I melt down sometimes and it's HARD.
Just be grateful and gracious you've never been in the position which has helped you to understand why people can appear so careless. They're not, most the time. It just seems that way.
When you are faced with some things the brain auto-protects us from the horror of it all. It's common to most people. Think back to the momma whose baby died in car.... Cooper Harris case. The shock she was in she behaved like it was just another day. It was pure shock. When it hit her later that night home alone.... she needed to be cared for.
Trust me.... I understand and appreciate it seems gross and horrible that some ppl can speak on these things without showing emotions but if our brains didn't protect us from the OVERWHELMING grief we feel when we endure traumatic events.... imagine the messes we would become.
Pls have compassion. Until you've been in those shoes you may never understand and I PRAY you're never in those shoes. Ever.

You are either being facetious or are mistaken. They have a duty to protect the citizens... Especially if they are already aware of this "situation" long before anyone was killed. Charles had told them that he and the children were in danger and that she had already threatened his life. They are, in fact, obligated to protect him against that danger. They had EVERY reason to believe Charles and ZERO reason to discount anything he said. This was a sexual bias that the police decided that lil tiny Lori couldn't possibly be a threat to anyone, so Charles must be just a jaded ex. Meanwhile,....she kills 3 people including her CHILDREN. The police had every opportunity to prevent all of this from happening, yet did nothing at all until it was too late, and 5 people are dead.

His things in the house, Lori had the right to move it about. Melanie was there as primarily moral support, watched Lori. The only thing Melanie has denied was that she did not go to the airport with Lori and take the vehicle. That would have required her physical participation. Melanie admitted to all other superficial activities, i.e., being there when Lori did those unkind things to Charles. As far as anything major, Melanie was not involved.

I think she's being deceptive but that's not a good indicator. The non verbal communication grifters on TH-cam on have convinced an entire population of true crime consumers that they can tell if people are lying from body language and eye movement. That has never been the case. It's mostly fake. Some of these channels claim to train law enforcement and that's terrifying. People have unique maneurisms that have nothing to do with them telling the truth or not but according to some experts it's an indication of deception. Shame on all of those channels it's all snake oil. While there is some truth in nonverbal communication it cannot be used accurately for this.

So she DID commit perjury at least once. The defense attorney explicitly asked her more than once if her and David shared a room the night of the podcast when Alex brought JJ in sleeping. She said multiple times that they slept in separate rooms, but here she said she was laying next to him. I'm thoroughly unsurprised, just never seen footage of actual perjury.

I think Melanie saying “I don’t do that. I don’t manipulate. I don’t know how to,” is extremely telling. She does not have any self awareness. Everyone knows how to manipulate. Everyone has at one point or another. Personality disorders are comprised of very normal, and expected human behaviors, only they are out of check. There is disorder in certain traits. She talks about mirroring, so she seems to have been learning about psychology. Psychopathy, or cluster b type personality disorders specifically, etc...Maybe it is only anecdotal, but I guess I can’t understand how it is possible not to see some aspects of these traits in your own self. In fact when I took psych 101, I remember feeling horrified. It was enlightening though. You just become very aware of your past behavior. Especially as a naive, psychologically, and emotionally immature teen. I don’t know, I can draw an awful lot of parallels between every one of these people.
