@@youngrequest1060 In the later videos I started tuning and was running 8 psi of boost with spikes around 10. It does require tuning with Hp Tuners, at least for my application.
So I drive a 2015 Sonic 1.8L and this isn't helping me not put a turbo in it... How many miles were on your Cruze before you started the project?
@@beans356 LOL, you should go for it. 5-8 psi all day on the stock engine would be fine. Mine had 122k. I put 2k miles on it before I realized I didn't set the PCV up correctly.

A turbo’s worst enemy is a catalytic converter. I’m from Florida so we don’t do emissions or anything but man, I hope the cat is just temporary. You lose sooooo much power having the cat
Some truth to that. Guess it depends on if a few horsepower more is worth the smell of gas coming out the tailpipe. I've ran cars both ways. Being that this is a daily, I didn't want the smell.

First mod my turbo Cruze is getting is muffler delete!!!!
I enjoy the sound of no muffler on a turbo car. You can probably see the progress as things go more race oriented. Still a street car, but at some point, this thing will be stripped, and all weight moved before the front wheels (fuel tank, exhaust, etc).
What's all wet on the ground under the engine oil or is that a stain on the concrete
Probably oil or coolant when I was draining the fluids, and accidentally knocked into the pan.

The next exhaust will look nicer. FLUX mig welding is the worst. lol. I have a tig this time around. Can't promise you they'll be instagram pretty, but definitely a step up.

Maxpeedingrods turbo! Check out my latest video. Even though they're cheap, they're great! Like Tony the Tiger.
You should check out the aero turbine/ jones turbine straight flow mufflers, they sound amazing and deep on 4cyl cars, no rasp. I've ran one on my cavalier and on my cobalts ss and they sounded amazing. My buddy even ran one on his civic and it was just as deep sounding on his car.

So how much have you spent so far other then 113 for the turbo.? And included with the turbo.
At, what I'm calling Stage or Phase 1, $1,300, all in. Most expensive part was HPTuners. That alone was half of the expense.

I'd say a week or two. Just waiting on the machine shop to finish the work, and trying to get my shop situated.
I'm here waiting like your work, I'm going to strip and tear down my ride as well it's a bigger job but I get it down just want to port the head, manifold and intake cleaner it up a bit in side and put it back together.
I'm going to take out my interior and sound seal it after I clean it first is working on housing. I'm a father of three but where making it the best we can.
Any way to build views I really want to try and build my TH-cam channel and get paid.
as a mechanic i like u bein diffrant with ur cars but i would hate to service it how bad is it to get the oil filter out?
I'm currently fully building the engine. I'm addressing that issue by turning the turbo the other way.
What check engine codes did the dash pop up and how did I fix them? Currently planning out my project to do this to my car
It was the downstream sensor code. P0141. The fix is to extend the sensor out of the stream some to trick it into thinking the exhaust flow is the same.

LOL... they're journal bearing turbos, which aren't too difficult for the Chinese to manufacture. There's plenty of side by side videos on TH-cam the show the difference, if any of these Garrett clones. People have gone 3 years beating on them, and they hold up great. Just check out the boostedboiz channel.

60# currently, but moving up to 114# 1200cc injectors.
kinda jealous tbh, mine doesn't pop at all at 2-3k rpms 😞
Is your exhaust still stock?
Matthew Chevalier nope. took out the resonator and Muffler, i'm about to go catless soon, though i'm worried that, that little bit of pressure from my cats is what let's me pop :/ i only pop around 3k-4k since my limiter is at 4k.
