      Sir can I connect this thru the 3.5m headset slot of a gaming monitor? Apparently I will use this for a PS5 console. The PS5 does support Bluetooth as well but I don't know if the PS5 console will detect both the HD3 and A2 or do I need to use a Bluetooth dongle

    Great comparison video. Especially playing both back to back to back near the end. Even through all the compression and over TH-cam I can hear a clear difference between all three pairs of speakers. The Audioengines do sound better than Edifiers. The HD3s sound more open than the A2+ models. Good stuff. Also well done highlighting the main differences between the two Audioengine models. Helpful content. Thank you.

    i was looking at all of these for my first desk speakers and while the test isn't the most scientific it does give us an idea and for me, it convinced me i need to save up for the HD3s... thank you for doing this test and video.

    Wasn't even shopping in the price range of the HD3s but between this video along with Linus TTs recommending against the A2s and finding a deal on a used set of HD3s I decided to take a gamble. Never dreamed I'd be spending this much on a pair of computer speakers. Can't wait!

    I was interested in a2 but i can’t get past the fact that the volume knob is in the back…that’s so unpractical, and even when it’s in the front i’d like to have a power on separate from the volume cause i like to control the volume via the pc OS so the speakers just always stay at the same volume… such a pity, i liked those

    Hey so originally I was looking at Edifier 1750s($200), then I was looking at the Audioengine A2+($280), and now I'm looking at the Audioengine HD3($350). The HD3 are kind of expensive, however they do sound better than all the rest by a good margin and im kind of sold on them. If my original budget was about $200-250, would you actually reccomend the HD3 for an additional $150~
    Also the A2+ seems like the perfect form factor for me, which is why I put it over the 1750s. I think edifier is too large for my desk.

    I'm set on the HD3's. I listen to heavy bass music so I'm looking to add a sub. Is the sub8 overkill? Should I get a smaller sub? This would be for a small office room. Curious where the sweet spot is with bass.

    Very good comparison. I think the HD3's are the better of the 2. I am looking for a speaker with the same midrange and high end clarity of my old style large apple HomePods. I believe the HD3's have that. I used my HomePods Max to listen to your comparisons and the HD3's had noticeably cleaner mid range. Thanks again.

    • @paolocoletti3424
      @paolocoletti3424 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The best way is to use a digital source from ones PC so as to use the speakers onboard DAC as it will 100% be better than ones motherboard audio DAC. So that's either via Bluetooth or USB. The Aux and RCA from your PC sends analogue signals so bypasses the speakers DAC conversion and is just amplified by the speaker.
      I advise trying each method AND also installing a free PC equaliser program such are PEACE so as to be able to tune to what you personally like and set different profiles for type of music/headphones etc . This made a huge difference for me.

    Great review of those particular speakers, thanks. I agree that the HD3s sound better than the A2+. For me it's a choice between the HD3 or the Kanto YU2, but I'd expect the YU2s to sound very similar to the A2+ (due to the 'same' form factor) so the HD3 still 'wins'.
