Newbern’s take made Seph sound subtly angered and resentful at Zack, while Hoechlin makes him sound more emotionally unstable and both conflicted and sad at how Zack, the last and newest of his remaining SOLDIER friends, could have possibly ‘betrayed’ him in his eyes.
As much as I love seeing the new graphics and reliving the scene where Sephiroth pulls the statue to reveal Jenova, they all still can't compare to the OG original scene in the 97 version. It has such a stronger strong visual, mood, and pacing that feels so more like a horror scene.
Its funny that Sephiroth boss music stays the same in this game but other bosses, including the final boss, gets remixes. How odd. Also, for those who are complaining about censorship of Jenova, I agree, the censorship is dumb. Freeze frame at 10:27 or 10:37 and you can see her brain and that's the closest we can get to see Jenova what she'll look like in the future events of FF7R.

Sephiroth was just another one of Hojo’s victims, in the end. Even though he was created a weapon of war, he still tried to do the right thing, as seen when he refuses to give Genesis his cells. That is, until Hojo tricked him into going to Shinra Manor and learning the truth about Jenova, which allowed it to manipulate his mind and turn him into the “monster” we know today. Had Sephiroth had his way, he’d probably be reciting LOVELESS with Angeal and Genesis in Costa del Sol.

The black smoke is caused by the guardians preventing Cloud from dying prematurely just like Barret in remake. A nice little touch. In the original version when this happens his survival made no sense.
Nah in the orignal it made perfect sense Cloud was just stronger and running on fury so he shrugged off Sephiroth. I mean look his hometown has been burned, his mom killed and childhood sweetheart seeminly dead, he was fucking pissed and nothing Seph could do stop his rampage (before becoming a god at least). Also if he is the real hero of the planet the Lifestream may of prevented him from dying. I think they should kept the Whispers out of this, this game had enough retcons.

The original english VA for the FFVII crisis core was way better than japan. Now in this new remake, the english V.A are pretty bad and of course japan is superior by a long shot in this case
See, that's the problem with remakes and remasters too faithful to the original. This scene absolutely required a revamp like the FF7R had. These scenes respond to the hardware limitations and old direction of the original game, which I loved by the way. But the cheesy dialogues, lack of real slang vocabulary, blood, longer and more defined interactions, proper musicalization, among many other things, make this game be a wasted potential. Really. I thought they'd change some stuff to bring the core experience to the next generation, but it's just a graphical update at best. And yes, I know this would happen because I read the interviews and followed development and promotion of this. It's still wasted potential, that's my point.

I played on Hard Mode and got killed 40 times. I got to the bridge part and saw there was NO WAY to slug out all that defense before getting pushed off. I did normal mode and beat him easy. Do you need to be level 99 on hard mode😅😅😅😅?

One point that was made is that they literally got rid of Jenovas head in this version, in the original there was a female head that Sephripoth was carrying after cloud stabbed him. They made it look like he was holding a box

Sephiroth is the boss. Zack keeps something everything yet the guy only answers with his weapon. Even in cutscenes and gameplay he barely moves. The only thing we've have seen this guy at full force is Advent Children
I played on Hard Mode and got killed 40 times. I got to the bridge part and saw there was NO WAY to slug out all that defense before getting pushed off. I did normal mode and beat him easy. Do you need to be level 99 on hard mode😅😅😅😅?

Man, Sephiroth sound so bored when doing Octaslash compared to the old voice in the PSP. I'm gonna have to play Reunion in Japanese because a lot of characters sound so lackluster, most disappointingly Zack.

Hundreds of comments about it already but I dont care. The hells with zacks voice? Barely any emotion put into it, it sounds like he was there just for a paycheck, doesn't care about the project. The others in this version of Crisis Core dont fare any better but Zacks is definitely the worst. I'm not gonna boycott the game or tell anyone else to over a voice because that's just stupid. I might end up getting it eventually when it goes down in price. It's just the voice cast I'm not a fan of. I thought the cast for the Super Mario movie sounded weird but executed, its fantastic
