I can’t say enough about how much I got out of this video. Very well explained. Like others I’ve watched it over and over and get something new out of it every time. As a woodworker most of my life I really appreciate your machinist perspective on tolerances and accuracy.
I viewed this about a year ago and was impressed then. Just watched it again after using my CNC for a year now and am even more impressed at the detail you show. You must have been and excellent machinist. The detail is what makes this truly a work of art. Thanks for having filmed this.
I recently (december 2019) got my Vcarve Pro and CNC. I have to say that watching this video and listening to your instructions has taught me more about using Vcarve Pro than any other video I have watched. Node editing and cutting were alien to me. I tried to design things where this knowledge would have been great. Thank you. Vectric should pay you for this.

What a clever idea to use the wooden clamp as a vertical holder! I've been trying to sort out how to do that on my IQ Pro and have been overthinking it, I'm sure... Thanks for the great demo!
Lawrence Becker I’m glad you like my simple yet effective method. I also use the same clamps to hold small objects and clamp them directly to the table. The best part is if I make a boo boo I cut into a inexpensive wood clamp and don’t wreck a bit!!

Awesome! Unfortunately some of us with small desktop CNCs which move the bed to achieve Y axis motion probably can't do this (or, at least not with a workpiece of any real size) but it still suggests some interesting possibilities, milling directly onto the end of a workpiece.
HI. For some reason, when making the circles, I cannot get the vectors to join. They are side by side measuring 1 inch a peice. I increased my vector gap to .1 just like you have on your screen. Any advice?
Did you use the cnc to level the top and bottom. And wow this was great.Video. I just figured out to do the toolpaths in vcarve pro to do finger joints vertically on the front of my Shapeoko xxl. My first full square box with all ends finger jointed came out with nice and tight joints. Jeff Peters And thanks to Mark for sharing the link to your video. Too bad I can't post a picture.

Yes, I squared both top and bottom. It's nice to hear people are getting successful results!
Well done indeed, great job, but how did you set your spindle to cut outside of the working area on Y axis (- Y ),
When you used the 12" wood clamp ?
On the laguna iq it will cut about 3 or 4” over the end of the bed. The work envelope takes that into account on my machine.

Keith Copeland is it possible to modify your machine bed? Also you can modify the box size so the ends can stand upright on top of your bed.
