This makes me so angry & breaks my heart! I've only had our bunnies for about 3 weeks & even I can clearly see that every part of this "rescue" video is wrong... on SO many levels. Those bunnies need to be rescued from HIM! The other thing I noticed in the video is that he said they are in Florida. It is so hot there. I am originally from Texas & no rabbit should ever be kept outdoors anywhere, let alone in the South. Both of these people look as if they are on the verge of sweating and they aren't even the ones covered in fur. What is their plan to keep the bunnies cool? Outside, in an enclosed coop, in the summer in Florida?! Are you kidding me?! When our bunnies bink around INSIDE our house, they can easily get too warm... in Montana...in June. In our home, our little guys have cool granite to lie on & we keep the temperature in our house around 65-70 degrees NO MATTER WHAT. There doesn't even appear to be any water dishes for those poor bunnies! This video genuinely makes me sick to my stomach...shame on them both! Thank you for sharing this because they do need to be stopped. As I watch this video, it looks to me like they already owned these rabbits, neglected them to the condition they are in & then staged a rescue video. 🤬 On a brighter note, I really appreciate your videos. Being new bunny owners, your videos are so helpful in learning all the things a bunny owner should educate themselves on. Thanks so much!

Literally trying not to cry rn, I hate how they kept saying "those poor babies, their condition was terrible" and they didn't actually do anything to help, no water, no hay, threw sweet potatoes at them and locked them in a freaking chicken coop? I would've immediately made sure they had water and hay, cleaned their paws and check for sores or bugs, and brought them to a vet. Only the vet could know if there's something deeper that could be wrong and give them a very thorough checkup.

I love seeing you tell the truth! Thank you. Also, while I know you’ve done a video on this before, could you revisit rabbit hemorrhagic disease? I am a vet tech for an animal shelter in western WA. We’ve just had our first confirmed cases in the state in the past month. These poor bunnies were also indoor only and very well cared for. Rabbit rescues in my area are holding vaccination clinics and vaccinating hundreds of rabbits at a time and our shelter is vaccinating all of our buns as well as our wonderful fosters own pet rabbits. This disease has such a horribly high mortality rate and RHDV2 will often present even without bleeding. I’m grateful that my bunnies are vaccinated, but I still use the utmost caution when working with stray bunnies. Please encourage your audience to seek out a rabbit savvy vet, house rabbit society or a rescue to learn where to find vaccines in their area. Medgene is producing a killed virus vaccine in the US so the vaccine isn’t as difficult for places to get as it’s been in the past. It’s just so sad to see how fast rabbits pass from this disease. Also, rabbits living outside are so much more susceptible to infection. No more useless deaths and help to protect the wild rabbit population! Thanks Lorelei.

  • @Swissgreys
    @Swissgreys 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Go to 7:25 in your video. This is where he first gives away that he knows there is a second rabbit out there (i.e. the whole 'rescue' is staged). He switches from talking about a single rabbit (the one he just caught) to rabbits plural. ''You can tell these rabbits were neglected. They were standing in their own pee''. So many flaws and issues, and at the end when he put them into that chicken coop without a single piece of hay I just wanted to die (and probably the rabbits did too).

Lorelei, I know you may not see this but I have a little story I wanted to share. At this event with animals I overheard a woman with her husband (I’m guessing,) (and keep in mind, their little daughter which is a toddler,) talking about getting a bunny. The woman said the bunny was going to be for their little girl. WHICH IS A TODDLER- and can’t even take care of an animal yet. I also heard a lot about cages, so I’m guessing their going to get a bunny and cage them. I really hope they choose to free roam, and research.

As a vet tech, I can definitely vouch for this being true. You need a small clinic or, specifically exotics clinic. The reason many practices don't see bunnies unless they are specialized is because bunnies have a very different kind of system (from dogs and cats), and many older vets were not taught much about exotic/pocket pets. Also, when it comes to more serious illnesses because they hide sickness well, most pass before owners are able to take them to a vet. I encourage you to look into exotic/pocket pet veterinarians. They are becoming more and more common!

I tried questioning his knowledge, the morality of his videos and the reality behind his shtick a while ago, it did not go down well. It seems he markets his channel towards people ignorant regarding animal welfare and too young to learn independently for themselves, so they trust his word as gospel. We lost our young 1yo rabbit last Friday night. A very sweet English Spot. She went down hill very quickly. Turns out she had E. Cuniculi (spelling) which we believe she got from her mother while in the womb. It was the worst thing I’ve ever witnessed. Could you please do a video on warning signs of this disease so people have a better chance of spotting the symptoms? It started when our rabbit stopped eating her pellets, yet was still eating veggies and hay. Sadly by the time we got to see the vet, she had almost every symptom.

I could've believed it's pure ignorance, but sadly it isnt
He's intentionally harming them, took one look on 'recent comments'
Almost none even once called out, so he's more than likely actively removing them

There is so much wrong with Jacob Feder's video 😡. Thank you for shining a light on what he is doing! Those poor bunnies are going to have tummy aches from that food 😭.

Oh hi, I feel like my rabbit is in pain today. I went to a party and my sister let Harry roam in the house and didn’t really care about him. When I came back I saw fresh red stuff on the ground that I’ve never seen before, I called my sister and she sais it’s dried up pee. I don’t understand. And then what shocked me I was petting him in his cage and every time I stopped, he started to tremble

Hello Lorelei and Lennon! I am so sorry for your struggles. I know you have been trying for years to educate people, but some people just don’t understand! It is so frustrating for me as well especially after all of your efforts. I hope Jacob watches this video and changes his ways. Thank you for making this video! Love you both!!!💛💛💛

This reminds me of the tik toker that tied 2 dogs under a house, left them there for a week. Then came back to "rescue" them for a tik tok.

It was hard to watch this to the end. I agreed with all of your comments. The way they treated and handled those poor bunnies made me want to scream! And yeah, it really looks like he was the original person keeping them and that's why they didn't resist him "rescuing" them. It's horrible that he let their feet get that way and then didn't even do anything about it "for the camera."

Hes made another video with another white rabbit that was matted and people are using the excuse of how is it fake if the bunny was matted
Are people blind? He clearly let the baby get that way himself and they are calling Lorelei crazy and rude in his comments ! Someone even called her a bunny Karen 🤦‍♀️

Me and my sister have our rabbits in a temporary cage, we are
Still makeing their yard/ house kinda thing (not a hutch) but the cage we are keeping them in has pine shavings, Is that ok? Or should we change it right away?

    • @lemonhammys5701

Change it, keep in the house at all times. There's a lot of bunny proofing videos out there :)

I find it curious how both the rabbits feet had a reddish coloration to it and the mulch was that exact color… there were also two wet areas inside the hutch so it seems like they were already being kept there before… it could also be from the bin he casually happened to have on hand when he rescued them
