This makes me so angry & breaks my heart! I've only had our bunnies for about 3 weeks & even I can clearly see that every part of this "rescue" video is wrong... on SO many levels. Those bunnies need to be rescued from HIM! The other thing I noticed in the video is that he said they are in Florida. It is so hot there. I am originally from Texas & no rabbit should ever be kept outdoors anywhere, let alone in the South. Both of these people look as if they are on the verge of sweating and they aren't even the ones covered in fur. What is their plan to keep the bunnies cool? Outside, in an enclosed coop, in the summer in Florida?! Are you kidding me?! When our bunnies bink around INSIDE our house, they can easily get too warm... in Montana...in June. In our home, our little guys have cool granite to lie on & we keep the temperature in our house around 65-70 degrees NO MATTER WHAT. There doesn't even appear to be any water dishes for those poor bunnies! This video genuinely makes me sick to my stomach...shame on them both! Thank you for sharing this because they do need to be stopped. As I watch this video, it looks to me like they already owned these rabbits, neglected them to the condition they are in & then staged a rescue video. 🤬 On a brighter note, I really appreciate your videos. Being new bunny owners, your videos are so helpful in learning all the things a bunny owner should educate themselves on. Thanks so much!

Since she’s gonna force me to cage the bunny I’m gonna decide not to get a bunny as bad as I want one. I’d rather someone else rescue/adopt the bunnies and give them free roam. Instead of my forceful parent making bunny live in cage.

I have seen SO many channels who all of their videos are just pretending to rescue animals to get views. They know animals are something people love to see and think “oh everyone will like me and watch my videos because I’m ‘helping’ animals”
At 3:25, he talks about how he’s been looking for pythons all day. I feel like this is only to seem tough and make it seem as if he’s always rescuing all creatures when he really isn’t.
I’m so glad you made this video to spread awareness. ❤️

  • @Swissgreys
    @Swissgreys 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Go to 7:25 in your video. This is where he first gives away that he knows there is a second rabbit out there (i.e. the whole 'rescue' is staged). He switches from talking about a single rabbit (the one he just caught) to rabbits plural. ''You can tell these rabbits were neglected. They were standing in their own pee''. So many flaws and issues, and at the end when he put them into that chicken coop without a single piece of hay I just wanted to die (and probably the rabbits did too).

Im so glad such a big name in pettube is calling this guy out and I hope others will follow suit here. Paused at the start but I have a feeling this video is going to get any fans he still has really riled up.
I tried questioning his knowledge, the morality of his videos and the reality behind his shtick a while ago, it did not go down well. It seems he markets his channel towards people ignorant regarding animal welfare and too young to learn independently for themselves, so they trust his word as gospel. They see nothing wrong and even normalise how many healthy animals have such often devastating outcomes under his care, it's dangerous and just devastating that TH-cam doesn't care how much misinformation and mistreatment animals endure on this site 😪

One of my rabbits was dumped or escaped. Someone posted about him in their yard and I went to try and catch him. They had caught him, but by the time I got there he had escaped again. It took me about a half hour to get him and it was not easy. Once we got home and he had some time to relax, eat, and drink, he became extremely friendly and was climbing all over me and flopping next to me.
This video seems so staged. Even though my boy was super friendly post rescue, he was still terrified during the rescue itself. I could never imagine a dumped bunny just sitting and accepting being caught.

I love seeing you tell the truth! Thank you. Also, while I know you’ve done a video on this before, could you revisit rabbit hemorrhagic disease? I am a vet tech for an animal shelter in western WA. We’ve just had our first confirmed cases in the state in the past month. These poor bunnies were also indoor only and very well cared for. Rabbit rescues in my area are holding vaccination clinics and vaccinating hundreds of rabbits at a time and our shelter is vaccinating all of our buns as well as our wonderful fosters own pet rabbits. This disease has such a horribly high mortality rate and RHDV2 will often present even without bleeding. I’m grateful that my bunnies are vaccinated, but I still use the utmost caution when working with stray bunnies. Please encourage your audience to seek out a rabbit savvy vet, house rabbit society or a rescue to learn where to find vaccines in their area. Medgene is producing a killed virus vaccine in the US so the vaccine isn’t as difficult for places to get as it’s been in the past. It’s just so sad to see how fast rabbits pass from this disease. Also, rabbits living outside are so much more susceptible to infection. No more useless deaths and help to protect the wild rabbit population! Thanks Lorelei.

As a vet tech, I can definitely vouch for this being true. You need a small clinic or, specifically exotics clinic. The reason many practices don't see bunnies unless they are specialized is because bunnies have a very different kind of system (from dogs and cats), and many older vets were not taught much about exotic/pocket pets. Also, when it comes to more serious illnesses because they hide sickness well, most pass before owners are able to take them to a vet. I encourage you to look into exotic/pocket pet veterinarians. They are becoming more and more common!

The woman said the bunny was going to be for their little girl. WHICH IS A TODDLER- and can’t even take care of an animal yet. I also heard a lot about cages, so I’m guessing their going to get a bunny and cage them. I really hope they choose to free roam, and research.

We lost our young 1yo rabbit last Friday night. A very sweet English Spot. She went down hill very quickly. Turns out she had E. Cuniculi (spelling) which we believe she got from her mother while in the womb. It was the worst thing I’ve ever witnessed. Could you please do a video on warning signs of this disease so people have a better chance of spotting the symptoms? It started when our rabbit stopped eating her pellets, yet was still eating veggies and hay. Sadly by the time we got to see the vet, she had almost every symptom.
It’s a strange illness, they can carry the disease for months and never show any symptoms.

Isn't it funny how the "only container they had" already had rabbit droppings and straw in it? Kind of like he brought the rabbits in it to stage the video.

Forgive me for asking a silly question here (I don't use YT often) - Isn't there a way that we can report him on YT? I'm sure that won't stop him completely but it might give him the wake up call he needs. This video was so hard to sit through and I hope there are ways we can take action against CC's like him. Thank you so much for not being afraid or worried about standing up to him and challenging him.

This was hard to watch, very heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing this video Lorelei, I know how frustrating it must have been for you to watch this yourself.

My bunny loves playing in the garden, and each time it gets dark, I have to come out in the dark to get her inside. There's no way he could grab it that easily.

Disclaimer: she freeroams between indoor and outdoor as she pleases. Besides at night as we do close the doors to the garden.

Hiding spots are a bun bun's best friend. They like the hiding houses, the holes, the bushes, the grass, tunnels. Basically anywhere they can go "now you see me, now you don't!"

I'm new to your channel,we have 2 bunnies that live in our house,we found one which had obviously been dumped, the first thing I did was take it to the vet to see if she was microchipped and make sure she was healthy and because neither myself or partner had owned a bunny before got a pamphlet on how to feed them etc, we couldn't stand the thought of leaving her outside,we both thought she was part of the family and my rescue dog tinky took to her straight away, she often cleans both rabbits ears out and they love it,they are all 3 very happy, mischievous and bonded to the whole family XOXO love your videos and thank you for your advice XOXO

This is so frustrating! I can't believe people like that spread misinformation especially with such easy access to educate themselves. Keep up the good work Lorelei, thank you for always helping the buns!
