nothing else compares..had a gransport from new in 2007 until 2014...turns heads everywhere with the looks and the noise...the GT and the stradale noise was even more brutal...not for the faint hearted financially tho...cost a klondike to keep for 7 years.

Well that wanted to have their own engine so they procceded to use alfas v6.... which is a 488 engine with 2 cylinders chopped off

@@houseking9211 Yeah, but the engine in the maserati is actually crossplane, not flatplane crankshaft. But it sounds so different, because the firing order is still different to what you'd find in an american V8. An American V8 has the following order in the crankshaft: up; left; down; right. A Maserati has: up; right; left; down. A Ferrari goes: up; down; down; up, by the way.

The GT was probably made for a musclar feel. As over here in Hong Kong we don't have any LS/Hemis, recently what sounds like a Maserati GT with exhaust keeps driving around my neighborhood makes my day haha

The V8 in the Maserati uses cross-plane crankshaft which is why it sounds deep. This same V8 in Ferrari's uses flat-plane crankshaft.
