I think its kind of a pity Konami wasn't able to make any Castlevania soundtrack as good as SotN afterwards. OoE is pretty close, though.
I thought the Sorrow games (AoS and DoS) had pretty good soundtracks, HoD though, that was an atrocity.
CoD has an insanely good soundtrack!
I thought HoD was actually really good despite the GBA's limitations. I wish it could be done with a full orchestra...

the ost are good, but i'd not say it's the best though, i'd have chrono cross/metroid ost anyday over this, the trance remixes are highly questionable too.
One of the first games I had when I upgraded to a ps1 and coming from SNES I remember being so blown away, then when I discovered the inverted castle my brain melted.

A top 10 all time OST for me, up there with Final Fantasy VI and VII, Mega Man 2 and X, Shovel Knight and some others. I never played SOTN until a year ago, yet the soundtrack still feels nostalgic to me. That's the mark of an amazing OST!

Fully symphonic, this game is really top notch with enjoyable gameplay and wonderful music.
The alternate version of Dracula's Castle is what I would love to have heard in my Playstation copy. Especially that guitar riff that restarts the track.

Probably one of the best game soundtracks ever made! Still, I have a problem to decide which track is my favorite. One can be proud to know this game.
Technically there's one missing -- Michiru Yamane, the composer, wrote an alternate End Credit track for the PSP version (to my knowledge the only version with this) called 'Mournful Nocturne'. Honestly a beautiful piece of music in my opinion.
Having said that, I totally dig that you have the bonus track on the game disc on here.

What can I say?!? Awesome! This OST is part of my gaming life! Just awesome! Just one little correction: "Bonus Track (Track 2 on PSX CD)" is actually "Dracula's Castle (alternate version)". What you placed as the "alternate version" is just the regular one. Also, the last 3 "alternate versions" are just the same as their regular counterpart.

It's funny how Lost Painting is such a popular song from SotN, and yet it's one of the least befitting songs of the series. It's almost too calm and peaceful for Castlevania! I love it nonetheless.
I think it fits perfectly within the world of Castlevania.

Mind-blowing soundtrack. "I Am The Wind" was a SUPER weird choice. Otherwise, it's the soundtrack of my life.
The composer (who didn't actually write I Am The Wind) actually wrote a new theme for the PSP release (I think exclusive to that version) called "Mournful Nocturne" - very much worth checking out

um...the "Unreleased songs..." were actually in the Sega Saturn version.
DANTVSVERGIL I mentioned in my description these are from the Saturn version. Unreleased means they are not in the main game (for example Bloody Tears version B is only the skeleton boss in the Underground Garden, not part of the core game). My 3 playthroughs of this game (one for each character) is the Saturn version, but the sound is shit unfortunately

+Ken Gevon The Saturn version was the original console the game was made for, the other ones (PSX comes to mind) are actually ports
+Ken Gevon +TTDLX Not true - game was released on PS1 first on March 20th, 1997. The game was ported to Sega Saturn (poorly) on June 25th, 1998 and included extra areas, items, remixes, etc.
And a cool new boss for the new zone. But my favorite addition was the soundtrack for Richter and Maria.
I remember when i first knew about the inverted castle, I had the exact same reaction when i knew about the extras for the Sega Saturn, haha.
The Saturn port was super shitty but it had more memory to work with if I recall, so they were able to fit more actual content in.
+Mitch Grenke In fact they were able to fit more content 'cause they had more time to work on the Saturn version. Sony pressed Konami to release the game as soon as posible, that's why the PSX version lacks in content (compared to the Saturn version) and abound in bugs.

The first time I played through, I was confused about why I was fighting Richter, and I randomly jumped around, throwing abilities and stuff like there was no tomorrow. So I accidentally killed shaft because I suck at games and didn't target the dude in front of me cause I was afraid of getting bitch slapped... I was so confused about why I passed the boss.
