This video shows the paths and terrain you will trek to reach the Everest Base Camp (EBC).
The path to Everest Base Camp unfolds in the heart of the Khumbu region, offering trekkers a blend of natural grandeur and cultural richness. The adventure begins with a thrilling flight into Lukla. From Lukla, the trail descends to the charming village of Phakding, meandering alongside the Dudh Koshi River.
Continuing the ascent, the path leads to Namche Bazaar, a bustling Sherpa town and a vital hub for acclimatization. As the journey progresses, the trail winds through rhododendron forests and ascends to the spiritual enclave of Tengboche, famed for its monastery and breathtaking views of Everest.
The classic trek to Everest progresses from Tangboche to Dingboche and then to Lobuche. From Lobuche, you will reach Gorak Shep - the nearest settlement to Everest Base Camp. Travelers leave their belongings at Gorak Shep and ascend to Everest Base Camp (5,364m).

This is really cool. Friendly feedback - I thought the panning/zooming and transitions were too fast, felt like I wanted to see some of those views more. But thank you, this was a really really cool visualization of the trek to basecamp. It typically takes 3 weeks from what I understand. Forget climbing Everest - if I were ever fortunate enough to be in the Himalaya region I would happily set my sights on completing this trek from Lukla to the foot of Everest. A serious achievement! Plus you would get to see the wonderful culture of Namche Bazaar and the wonderful Nepal culture along the way. I'm sure it would be the hike/trek of a lifetime.

people walk to the base camp directly from lukla?

Yes. It takes 2-3 weeks to get there I believe.

@@brianmessemer2973 Typical treks are 12-14 days. EBC reached on day 9 usually. Hiking down is much faster, no need to acclimate.
